       Electric Start

Does anyone know that a new Dynastart can be purchased for the
NF that is identical to the original? Last time I looked it was
£190. You need to find a 12v button switch.

       Yes indeed!
There was a long thread about it on the old forum. It was some
boat supplier I think. The Bosch Dynastart is used on some kind
       of boat engine.
Do you have a link to the supplier, so we can post it up here?

I'll have to dig through some old e-mails. It was a UK
       manufacturer....

i was told the vespa ape dynastarter fits , that one is easier
       to find.
anyway the bosch and the marelli dynastart each have their own
regulators, you cant simply mix them.
never tried the conversion myself, the bike is so easy to start
       it isn't worth the hassle

Agreed; the only time I would have been glad of it was when
something else was wrong. I went through a period when the
tickover was very unreliable, and the engine would cut out,
usually in standing traffic, so you had to wheel the bike to the
side of the road to try and get it started again. However, a
replacement coil was a lot cheaper than a Dynastart!

I have one with, and one without. There is a certain pleasure in
silently inducing the deep heartbeat without moving.....(being
belt actuated, the starter motor is completely silent, and
starts spinning sofly until you drop in the DC)

Yes, if I had one, no doubt I could derive much satisfaction
from using it, just to see the perplexed looks of those for whom
a direct drive starter is completely alien.
However, there are few things as satisfying as the long, slow
push on the kickstart, in the full and certain knowledge that
the motor will chug into life!

I believe they are not made any more and I think I had about the
last one from a place in Germany. I give the details of where it
came from to Guts Bits and they tried to get a couple in but
they were told the were not obtainable any more. It came from
www.kohl24.de and it was a Dynastart Lombardini Mosa Ruggerini
Schilter Slanzi Valmet Valpadana Wickstrom 1008. (thats what it
       says on the bill)
and the total cost was 241.00Euro. It took me months to find it
as I needed one as my kickstart shaft broke and gearbox spares
are not easy to get and very expesive.
       Hope this helps. Geoff

This is the guy who advertises Dynastart for small boat
       applications in the UK,
  HTML http://www.vireengines.com/
       ,the unit
looks to have the exact same mounting points as the Nuovo
Falcone. I sent him an email telling him I was looking for it
as a starter/generator replacement and electric start option for
motorcycle with a Bosch generator, with a photo..... no
response, maybe I'll call next. Good website none the less.
