Couldn't afford the fuel though. How much did you spend on that
in your 250,000 km...?
I'm guessing at about 15,000 gallons.... :o
Looks like fun though, even though we should be severely slapped
by Admin for the off-topicness of the way this thread is going.
But hey, I'm the Admin, so it's OK; right?

As a work vehicle, not too bad really - 16 to 18 to the gallon.
Actually about the same as my current work van, which is an AWD
5.3 litre V8 gas GMC 8 seater. The current van is a lot smoother
to drive, has air conditioning and proper seats. Neither
vehicle is much use for commuting, but since my office is
downstairs, that doesn't really matter.
But, since this is, as you say, a bike thread, here's a couple
of mine from the recent past.

I put 20,000 miles on this behemoth (Yamaha Royal Star Tour
Deluxe) before trading it for the Breva 1100. I loved the
engine, power, feel and smooth running, but never could get the
ergos to suit me. To much cruiser riding position to be
comfortable (for me). I once rode the best part of 200
kilometres with my hands in my lap, with the cruise control set
at 65, steering just by leaning. Great bike, but not for me.
In this picture, we were heading up to James Bay with my son
(recently passed his test) on an 81 CM400. It was his first
'real' trip. We rode 4000 kms in 5 days. He has the gene!

BMW K100. Bought with 180,000kms on the clock. Sold with
223,000. Great long distance bike, if a bit top heavy. This
from a work trip in northern Ontario. My 17 inch laptop is
packed in there somewhere........

Well, I'm not surprised by the K, but I wouldn't have put you
down for a big Yam.... ;)

Great price - and I thought I'd give a cruiser a try. Not my
cuppa, as it turned out.
On another note: this bike and sidecar used to be mine
(separately). I sold them both to Doug a while back. He turned
up today, having a bit of winter fun............

:o Wincing at those chains on the pretty alloy rims!
That sidecar is positioned in a really weird location isn't it?
The wheel seems very far back related to the bike?

I hadn't noticed the odd positioning. When I had it on the
Eldorado, the sidecar wheel was slightly ahead of the bike
wheel. Doug does things his own way - so who knows. He'snot
called F^$%#@&* Doug by everyone who knows him (including his
parents, I suspect), for no reason.

Hi there churchbury (surely not the name you like to be
addressed by),
I bought the 750S as a non-runner in Quebec. Got it running and
have put plenty of miles on it since - fantastic bike - my
'fighter bomber'.
Here's a video explanation:

It was also written up recently (by me) in RealClassic magazine
(Aug 2014 vol 124).
Here's a slide show of my first lengthy trip (about 3200kms)

It's worth watching for the scenery along the St. Lawrence River
and the Yo-Yo Ma sound track which starts after the first few
slides.
