       light switch
By: Contractor Date: February 17, 2015, 10:32 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
       Hello NF people
I have recently scored a NF cabinerie (as a few bits show a
residue of baked dark blue paint ) that is upgraded with a
dynastart and aprilia indicators. Unfortunately the loom is in
poor condition and I am rewiring front to rear and adding relays
       as required.
The wiring is a mix of civilian and military colours and the
       indicators are easy enough
I have rebuilt the main switch and fitting a relay next to it
under the dash along with a horn relay under the tank.
Could some one please explain the functions of the CEV
       melt-o-matic light switch.
I have been most fortunate to get hold of a S/H switch in good
condition to replace the distorted non functioning one and the
wiring was patched, non standard and melted.
       the horn is obvious ,
I guess the top rocker is parking/town light but I am not
familiar with the functions of the bottom rocker and the circuit
diagrams are not showing the power feed to the switch. the
switch has 3 positions and 4 poles and the centre is also
wired????? any illumination would be much appreciated :D
I have built a loom from scratch for my T3 so I am not generally
troubled about wiring except for this switch
Once this is sorted and the relays done along with the QH
headlight I should be able to take it out for a shake down ride.
Boy am I looking forward to that day ;D ;D ;D
       Kym

beam from left to right postions

Thanks Ric, it does and my old switch had been modified so much
it didn't operate in that manner and the way it is wired is
different so..... I am still seeking the wiring connection
details if anyone has easy access to the back of their switch
please. just the connections of the 4 poles on the bottom rocker
and if the rocker pivot is connected to anything.
My new S/H switch has a wire attached to every pole except the
       connecter to the upper rocker

I have a spare lurking in the garage somewhere, although I'm not
sure how findable it will be.
I'll try and take a look at the weekend.

After converting my headlamp to 60W H4 bulbs my headlamp switch
started to play up so I fitted a double relay into the headlamp
shell to take the current away from the switch. It's been
       reliable ever since.
The tail light has 3 x 19 led lamps in it = 57 LEDs, so quite
bright and saves a bit of juice for the front shiner.

The spare switch has not materialised... ??? I suspect it's in a
cabinet behind some boxes of things that might come in useful
       sometime...
In the meantime, I opened up the one on the bike, and the rear
       is wired like this:

Looks like there's quite a few spare terminals on there. Mine
has lights on, park, full, main/dip and horn.
Not sure if that's any help.
