Martin's Nomic Official Ruleset (Version 1.1.1)

M1. Martin's Nomic (Immutable)
1. This nomic is named Martin's Nomic.
2. All players must abide by all rules in the Martin's
Nomic ruleset while playing in Martin's Nomic.
3. Martin's Nomic is officially a sub-nomic of Supreme
Nomic. This ruleset is to abide by the Supreme Nomic rules.
4. Rules may be mutable or immutable. Immutable rules may
not be ammended or repealed.
M2. The Augustus (Immutable)
1. The Augustus of this nomic is Seth.
2. The Augustus, in addition to their abilities as a
player, is:
a. Allowed to edit the ruleset at any time, for
reorganizing or clarification purposes only.
b. Responsible for updating the ruleset and
maintaining the MNSR.
c. The delegate from Martin's Nomic to the Supreme
Nomic.
d. Allowed to veto any proposal passed by the players,
to prevent harm to other players or Martin's Nomic.
e. May change the status of any player.
M3. Martin's Nomic Status Report (Immutable)
1. The Martin's Nomic Status Report (MNSR) shall record all
things needed to maintain Martin's Nomic that are not
neccesarily part of the ruleset. The Augustus shall update the
MNSR as dictated by the ruleset. It shall be located in the
Martin's Nomic board.
M4. Players (Immutable)
1. In order for one to become a player, they must post in
the Martin's Nomic board declaring their wishes to become a
player. Once the Augustus approves the player, they immediately
become a player.
2. Players may be active or inactive. Inactive players may
not vote or propose rule-changes. Players may change their
activity status by notifying the Augustus.
3. The list of players and their respective qualities shall
be recorded in the MNSR.
4. For voting purposes, a quorum of players is equal to
three-fourths of all active players, rounded up.
M5. Proposals (Immutable)
1. Players may, by posting in the Martin's Nomic board,
make any of the following proposals:
a. Propose a new mutable rule.
b. Propose the amendment of a rule
c. Propose the removal of a rule
d. Propose the transmutation of a rule (from immutable
to mutable, or vice versa)
2. Once a proposal has been made, all players are allowed
to discuss or vote on the proposal. Once a quorum of players
have voted on a proposal, any players who have not voted have 24
hours to vote. The Augustus may close the vote at any time
after a quorum of players have voted.
3. If a majority of players voting vote for a proposal, it
is adopted immediately after it is passed.
M6. Points (Mutable)
1. Points are the official currency of Martin's Nomic.
Points are a real, rational number to the hundredth decimal
place. Each player can have points. Players may have negative
points.
2. Players may transfer any positive amount of points to
another player. Players are not allowed to have negative points
because of the transfer of points.
3. There exists a Bank. The Bank of Martin's Nomic (BMN)
shall hold all points that players are not in possession of.
The Bank may change players points in the following ways:
a. Whenever a player joins Martin's Nomic, they
receive 100 points.
b. Every time a player votes on a proposal, they
receive 1 point.
c. If a player proposes a rule-change that is passed,
they receive 1 point for each vote for the proposal. If a
player proposes a rule-change that is not passed, they lose 1
point for each vote against their proposal.
4. Initially, there are 10,000 points in Martin's Nomic.
The Bank shall initially hold 10,000 points minus the amount of
points held by players.
M7. Judicial System (Immutable)
1. If it is believed a rule is broken, a player shall
notify the Augustus of such occurrance. The Augustus will
determine whether such event occurred and any penalties given.
M8. Contests (Mutable)
1. Contests are competitive events within players of
Martin's Nomic. Players may host their own contests if it is
approved with the Augustus .
2. Once a contest is approved, the player running the
contest shall earn the temporary title of Contest Director.
3. The Contest Director makes all decisions pertaining to
the contest. The Contest Director shall have the responsibility
of managing anything pertaining to the game. They may appoint
other Contest Directors.
4. The Contest Director will make a post in the Martin's
Nomic board detailing the rules of the contest. They may update
the post at any time.
5. The Contest Director may award players competing in
their contest with a reward. The reward must be something they
control or possess within Martin's Nomic.
6. The Contest Director must declare the game begun or
over. The Augustus may do the same. The Augustus may exercise
any of the powers declared in the Martin's Nomic Ruleset in
contests.
7. Contest Directors may contact the Augustus asking for a
Contest Points Grant. Grants may be for up to 250 points. Grant
points come directly from the Bank. Contest Directors must tell
the Augustus how the points will be distributed. Contest
Directors may take up to 20% of the points from the Grant as
salary for running the contest, but no more.
M9. Winning Condition (Immutable)
1. A player wins Martin's Nomic by doing any of the
following:
a. Controlling over half of all points in Martin's
Nomic
b. Controlling the Bank
c. Passing, by unanimous vote, a rule declaring them
as the winner
d. Winning a contest run by the Augustus with the
winning prize as winning Martin's Nomic
2. If the game has been won, it shall be recorded in the
Status Report forever. The winner officially becomes the
Augustus . The new Augustus takes the ruleset, may remove any
rules they choose, and declare the game begun again.
M10. Player Attributes (Mutable)
1. Each player has the following attributes:
a. Energy: integer from 0-10. Begins at 10.
b. Hunger: integer from 0-10. Begins at 10.
c. Intelligence: integer. Begins at 0.
d. Strength: integer. Begins at 0.
e. Charisma: integer. Begins at 0.
2. These will be recorded in the MNSR and will be updated
by the Augustus.
M11. Food
1. There exists an object called food. These are the types
of foods available and their quality.
a. Raw Meat: 2
b. Raw Fruit: 3
c. Bread: 5
d. Cooked Meat: 5
e. Fruit Salad: 6
f. Sandwich: 7
g. Seasoned Meat: 8
2. Players may be in possession of Food. This will be
recorded in the MNSR and updated by the Augustus.
M12. Locations
1. The following locations exist: Home, Library, Farm,
Colosseum, Marketplace, and Restaurant.
2. A player may update their location whenever they wish by
posting in the Player Activity and Discussion board. This will
be recorded in the MNSR and updated by the Augustus.
3. At Midnight each day, the following attribute changes
will be made depending on which location a player is located:
a. Home: +4 energy, -1 hunger
b. Library: +1 intelligence, -1 energy, -1 hunger
c. Farm: Player chooses +2 Raw Fruit or +1 Raw Meat,
-4 energy, -2 hunger
d. Colosseum: +2 strength, -5 energy, -2 hunger
e. Restaurant: +5 hunger, -2 energy
f. Public Square:+1 charisma, -1 hunger, -1 energy
g. Marketplace: -1 hunger, -1 energy
*Authors notes: becomes version 1.1.1 after 1.0.8. It was more
than just a minor change, as we added 3 rules in one.*
