Proposal: New Rule- Bank/Currency [Passed 3-0]
By: JamesSupreme Date: January 17, 2011, 8:45 am
---------------------------------------------------------
"There will be a Supreme Bank. The money will be in the terms of
dollars and cents. The money will be known as Supreme Currency
or SC. Every player, dictator or lower player, has an account
with the Supreme Nomic with this money in it.
A) The Supreme Nomic has a Vault. This initially has
$1,000,000,000.00 in it. Every player starts with $100.00 of
this number.
1) Every week at noon on Monday, the interest kicks in
and adds 1% to everyone's accounts. (So, if you have $100.00,
you get a dollar a week. If you have $1,000,000,000, you will
get $10,000.00 a week. Your interest only works if you keep your
money in the Vault. To put money in the vault, ask the Chairman.
C) The money of the Supreme Nomic may be used in ANY
subNomic.
1) It is up to the other Nomics if they allow the
transfer of money between subNomics.
D) The Chairman may grant grants toward different projects.
All grants are listed below and may be added as they are created
without having to create an amendment:
1) "Innovative Choices Grant"-- If the Chairman,
Vice-Chairman, and Secretary feel that the Dictator of a certain
subNomic is creating a gaming environment that is creating high
new player appeal, they may grant them a sum up to $1,000.
2) "Hold-Up Grant"-- If a Nomic is failing economically,
the Chairman, Vice-Chairman, and Secretary may grant the
dictator a sum up to $1,000,000.
3) "Jump Start Grant"-- Every time a new Nomic starts,
they will receive $1,000,000. This may only happen once per
dictator. (In other words, if one player opens up two Nomics,
only one of his or her choice will receive the grant.)
E) If the Supreme Nomic gains more and more dollars, the
value of the dollar goes down by .1% per fifty thousand. If the
Supreme Nomic loses more and more dollars, the value of the
dollar goes up by .1% every fifty thousand. If the Nomic falls
into the negative, the game may still be played and points may
still be dealt but the game is officially in a recession.
The bold is the update so far before the vote.

Same with this rule, considering there has been no discussion, I
wish to take this to a vote. I am for.

I think we should discuss this before taking it to a vote. I
know, we should have been discussing it all along. Care to
briefly explain why each point should be how it is?

"There will be a Supreme Bank. The money will be in the terms of
dollars and cents. The money will be known as Supreme Currency
or SC. Every player, dictator or lower player, has an account
with the Supreme Nomic with this money in it.
A) The Vault is like a Fort Knox. This part talks about how
much is initially in it and how much players get. THis is all
players. Not just SUpreme Nomic players.
1) This just talks about interest which I felt needed to
be kept low for now. Also, it gives more power to the Chairman.
B) More power to the Chairman. Also, allows for loans. I
kept this fairly open so that the Chairman can decide what to
do. This also allows the money to be used in ANY Nomic.
C) Obvious.
1) This allows trade with the Supreme Nomic and
subNomics, allowing a closer tie to each.
2) This restricts the allowance of intersubnomic
trading.
D) More power to the Chairman. Allows grants.
1) Self explanatory.
2) Self explanatory
3) Self explanatory"
E) This allows for inflation. This is the only one that I
was not sure of but I could see how it would allow for a true
economy.
All of this was written just for the idea that there could be an
Economy.

The chairman is continuing to rack up different powers. While
this is understandable I feel as though a warning is needed. . .

True but as it is now, I feel that the Chairman doesn't have
almost ANY powers. But yes, I see where your warning is coming
from and it does have a solid ground beneath it. Nonetheless, I
feel that this (if abused) could end up as either a Watergate or
a huge AMERICAN ECONOMY so I think this could add some flavor.

I think a little more explanation could be used in B. As it is
written, I could give myself the entire vault's worth of money
to my nomic.
On C.1, how to we decide transfer rates? I'm trying to wrap my
brain around deciding a fair system that would make each
different yet fair. And actually, we might want to hold back on
this until we regulate commerce in each sub-nomic. I could make
each point of mine worth $10000 in the Supreme Nomic, and have a
clear advantage.
On C.3, would the nomic get $1,000,000 each time the nomic is
won and resets?
Just little things that should be tweaked before passing. The
heart of the proposal is solid.

K. How would you like to change B?
I left transfer rates up to the subNomics but we can easily
state those here. I agree with you on the subNomics. I see where
you are coming from.
No, when a NEW Nomic starts. I wouldn't take into consideration
a restart as that but yet again, we can define that here.
In fact, I think from now on, we need to make sure that all
proposals are bulletproof before passing. I think that's been
our problem lately.

I agree. Okay, B... I'm not sure what to do with it, lol. I say
we either take it out or change it into a loan system.
Transfer rates... again, not sure how to incorporate transfer
rates. I'll look up how it works in real life. Economics is so
complex.
Nomic startup grant.... okay, sounds good. I think its phrased
well enough but maybe reword to make certain.
