The Ravens we're on the road and playing their third straight
division game. It was a close game all the way to the end, but
the Ravens just couldn't pull it off. They lost 23-14. The
defense did a good job of keeping them out of the endzone in the
first half. Only giving them one touchdown. And allowing 2 field
goals. They actually went into the half with the lead 14-13. But
if you were watching you knew it wasn't going to end well for
them. Carson Palmer already had 216 yards passing at that point.
They kept him out of the endzone for the first half but Palmer
has been on fire this year and if they couldn't figure it out a
way to stay he was going to torch them. Which he ended up doing
to them. They were able to shut down the Bengals backs and hold
them to 78 yards rushing, but Palmer was able to let the ball
fly and put up 346 yards on them. The most allowed all season so
far. When it came to the red zone the Ravens we're able to hold
their own and hold them to field goals. In the red zone they
gave up 3 field goals and 1 touchdown all day. The defense was
doing well in the first half but the offense wasn't giving them
much help. Lewis had a decent game. He had 12 attempts for 94
yards. No touchdown but he was a beast running the ball today.
He was breaking tackeles left and right. Lewis also got help
from his backup Mosa Smith. He was 3-32 and 1 touchdown. It was
good they got something from the run game cause Boller had yet
another average game. He was 11-18 for 146 yards and no
touchdown but had no interception either. He was on target for
most of the game. He had a couple of dropped passes but he was
on target for most of his throws. But when you can't trust your
receivers to hold on to the ball you get scared to throw the
ball. The line was not giving him much time so he didn't have
much time to throw. He was lucky that he was able to get away
from most of the rush no sacks today. Luckily he has Todd Heap
on his team. Heap had 5 receptions for 70 yards. And he was a
nice security blanket for Boller today. He made some amazing
catches. He was able to make a crazy catch in traffic. And had a
few good runs after the catch. Heap was the only one really
helping today. Johnson and Taylor had combined the same amount
of catches as Heap and only had 68 yards together. Johnson was
getting shut down and Taylor could not hang on the ball. He had
the most drops of both teams with 3. The defense had a rough day
as well. They gave up the most yards for the season this year.
With 424 yards total. That is almost 100 more yards than their
average. They were beat through the air by the young Palmer with
346 yards. The secondary made him look like a ten year vet. The
run was good but they need to figure out their passing game
before their next game. They are facing the Chiefs next and I
have faith they can stop Priest Holmes but can they stop Green
       and the passing game.
