Week 3 at Falcons

Well same story different week. The Cardinals have found
themselves with another loss. Giving them a 0-3 record on the
season. They went to Atlanta and they were beat up. Only able to
put up 10 points. And only one touchdown this week. They were
terrible at getting to the red zone. Only one trip to the red
zone this week. The Falcons were able to keep them away from the
red zone all day. And again no help from the run game. Smith who
was suppose to help the team out in rushing has yet to pass over
50 yards rushing this year. Course the Cardinals should have
known what they were getting when they got the older Smith.
Shipp has put up better numbers than Smith and that's not what
the Cardinals need or want. Thats not saying that much cause
Shipp hasn't done all that great either. Smith who had 10
attempts for only 41 yards. 10 attempts for only 41 yards. That
is just unacceptable. And again he wasn't able to find the red
zone. Shipp who had more yards than Smith on half of the
attempts. Shipp had 5 attempts for 43 yards, but he lost a fumble
which did ruin a nice drive the Cardinals where having. He
fumbled it on his and the teams longest run for the day. He
found daylight and was going and kept going then he was running
without the ball. Just a bone head play that cost the Cardinals
big. On a positive note though, the Cardinals receivers have
been monsters. Boldin and Fitzgerald had great games. Boldin had
7 receptions for 110 yards and Fitzgerald had 10 receptions for
151 yards and 1 touchdown. He has had 100 yards in each of his
first 3 games. And Larry was able to grab his first touchdown
for his career as well. McCown wasn't too bad today. He managed
to keep the ball away from the Falcons and had a decent game. He
was 15-22 for 239 yards and 1 touchdown before he was taken out
of the game and replaced with Shaun King. He looked good in the
pocket and was not sacked once. The line had a couple of bad
blocks but Josh was able to stay calm and look down field. The
defense on the other hand needs to figure out what went wrong.
They gave up almost 500 total yards. 496 they gave up. 280 yards
through the air and 216 rushing. And Vick had 129 yards on the
ground alone. Their defense just fell apart as the game went on.
If I was the GM and coach I would look at some players on
defense through the draft and free agency this year. They look
terrible this year. Hopefully the D can figure it out throughout
the year or it's going to be a very long year. Well as long as
rookie Larry Fitzgerald can keep up his monster year and improve
as the weeks go by the offense might be able to help the defense
out. Next week they face the red hot Saints. The Saints don't
have the best defense, so hopefully that means the Cardinals can
ink out a win.
