I don't know how they did it but they found a way to do it. Jake
Plumber channeling his inner John Elway and getting his very own
comeback win. The Broncos were down 28-17 in the middle of the
3rd. The stadium was silent and they thought that the Chargers
were going to walk out of here win a win and beating a division
rival at home. But that might of been the Chargers downside.
They could of kept giving it to LT he was kicking our defense's
butt all day. But they decided to throw it and with the pressure
the d was giving Brees a made a mistake and gave the Broncos a
chance to come back. Plumber who lead the comeback was 16-29 for
265 yards no touchdowns but he did threw a interecption. Plumber
had to put the team on his shoulders. He running game wasnt
giving him much and letting a rookie play his first game didn't
help much either. Griffin and Bell carried the ball today and
you really couldn't tell by their numbers. Griffin who had the
most touches rushed for only 28 yards on 9 carries, but he was
able to score a touchdown. Rookie Bell carried the ball 4 times
for 29 yards. As you can see that's not going to help Plumber
out much when they barely have as many yards as LT had. Put
receivers stepped up and defense made some good plays towards
the end. The other rookie to play had a much better game. You
couldn't tell he was a rookie. Darius Watts had himself a gave
to remember. He had 5 catches for 113 yards. Veteran Smith had a
good game to catching 6 passes for 89 yards. We thought we might
get a good battle of the Tight Ends today but unfortunately
Shannon Sharpe left the game early in the 1st quarter and was
out for the whole game. He looked like he was going to have a
good game he already had 2 receptions for 27 yards it looked
like he was going to have a big game. But sadly we didn't get to
see it. Now the defense are the ones who made big plays to keep
them in the game but the guy who saved the team and was the real
MVP today was the one and only Champ Bailey. There was nothing
he couldn't do today. Oh you need some tackles he was able to
get 3 of them. You need a guy to rush and sack the quarterback
he can do that to. You need a man to score a pick six yeah he
did that as well. But his talents didn't just stop on defense.
He took his talents to the special teams as well returning punts
today. He was able to take one all the way to the house. There
was nothing he couldn't do today. If it wasn't for him they
might not get a win today. He wasn't the only one who had a good
defensive showing. John Lynch lead the team in tackles with 6 on
the day. Mobley also had a good game getting 2 tackles a sack
and getting himself a pick as well. The whole defense was able
to get to Brees 5 times but the pressure they put on Brees
caused him to threw 3 picks. He also threw one late in the game
that could of given them the lead but Ferguson picked him off
that helped the Broncos drive down the field where Elam was able
to kick the winning field goal. Along with getting 5 sacks and 3
interecptions. The defense gave up 460 yards total 270 through
the air and 190 on the ground. The numbers look bad but when you
can get turnovers sometimes the numbers are just numbers and as
long as you get a win doesn't matter how you get it. Next week
they will travel to Tampa and face the Bucs and keep their
perfect record going.
