Looks like we have had some influence on the NFL with the fan
nights.

Thinking hurts Graham. But in all honesty we have a good bit of
time to thrash something. Will you be going.

I think initial interest in the fan clubs seemed good but we
really need some official links to make it viable.

In agreement Graham. Its fine that we put forward ideas and
points, however at some point the NFL have got to do something.
I have yet to get feedback from the last meeting!

Finally. Back on the laptop. And sorry I have been absent. It
seems when I think I will get a lull in work, it only gets more
hectic.
Anywho, glad that we've made a difference to the experience of
NFL fans here.
I was thinking of some ways to raise the profile of the fan
clubs:
1. Having the NFLUK (NFL) back it. - Obvious, though may find
resistance on this, due to any connection places obligation on
the NFL/NFLUK.
2. A summer event (July/August) to kick off preseason. This
could be organised at the regional level, but done at rough;y
the same time by all regional ones. Photos of the day could be
shared with the other NFLUK groups. Could be a BBQ or "get to
know your regional members day"
3. Fantasy Football. - Each regional has a team, which completes
against the other regions. All members could have access to the
team, and agree who to play/trade/sign. Possibly hard to setup
and manage, but good way to build links between regional fan
clubs.
What are your guys thoughts?

I agree 100% on all things fan club related. I think the help
build and maintain a sense of community and that can only be
good for a minority sport.
Another thing which I think we need to look at is the quality of
the IS product. The games are great and the teams coming over
are all making the event exciting. I think, however, that
certain aspects can ruin the event. None more so than
Ticketmaster. In terms of fan frustrations, this is by far the
largest recurring topic and I think this needs answered.
This year for example, my dad got us 2 tickets for the Jags v
49ers. Although pretty tech savy, he has never been to Wembley
and didn't bother checking a seat map. After selecting "Best
available" we have ended up with seats in the bottom corner,
slightly behind the end zone. Quite frankly, this is not the
"best available" area. Later that night, I could pick up seats
in all areas apart from the lower sideline. Good luck explaining
that one to me Ticketmaster.
Thoughts?

I agree Graham. I would prefer to be able to choose the seats I
want. not best available. last year i had to keep refreshing it
before i got seats that were someone near where i wanted to sit.
You dont get that problem looking for seats for other sporting
events.
Chris
