Reading some of the threads over in the NFLUK site, their are a
few about fan clubs etc, with a list of clubs. Whether or not
its a club with one or a dozen or 100 members I think it is
something we should use for an all encompassing approach. Also
this ticketmaster disastrous way dealing withbthe tickets. A
better approach has to be taken.

Fan Clubs
Great response from regional events?
Should be a good 2013.

Hey guys
Awesome. Unique SB with Harbaugh brothers. Am looking forward to
watching it on tv.
I was also thinking about something we mentioned at the last
meeting....NFL rewards.
Anyone can sign up for it on the NFL site, but only residents of
the USA can claim rewards for points generated.
I've already got 1229pts, but they are useless to me.
It would be good if the NFLUK site had that built in as well,
maybe instead of having separate logins to NFLUK and NFL, we
have one, and so the rewards could be redeemed from this end.
Just a thought.

With regards to Fan Clubs, I believe they said that it would be
too much of a headache for the NFL to be involved in running.
Obviously, we wouldn’t expect them to, but maybe for them to
reward members or have special offers available to members only,
for example.
I think one of the best ways of starting to promote these
regional clubs is through social networking sites, ie. FB,
Twitter, etc..
I’ve set up a “group” on FB for fans of the NFL UK West
Hertfordshire, which could encompass parts of Bedfordshire as
well.
So far, 3 members. Yay!

I could help set up other regional ones, if anyone else wants to
help launch one?

Hey guys
I was going to advertise the west hers fan club on the nfluk
forum and then i thought...we are in a position to really lead
this.
So i was thinking of posting this to the forum site:
" As we are all members of the NFLUK Forum, it makes sense to
enhance this community experience by organising places to watch
games, and planning other community building activities (flag
football, bbq, etc...). One of the ways that have been discussed
is through the creation of a fan club for the NFL, irrespective
of ones own favourite team.
Looking for a UK based fan club for say the Colts, might be
difficult as a fan club might be located in Sheffield, and you
might be the only Colts fan in Bedfordshire. With this being a
possible issue, we all tend to migrate to this website and
communicate and form relationships with other people who are
fans of the sport.
Clearly, the NFLUK Forum IS a fan club, albeit, limited.
How do we move this forward? The logical step is to set up
regional fan clubs, whereby NFLUK forum members can have a way
of meeting up with other members. The potential to grow the
regional fan base would definitely be very real.
So if anyone out there is willing to help organise a regional
fan club, please contact me, so we can ensure that even though
our clubs will be regional based on geographic location, we will
still be ONE fan club for the NFLUK (not dissimilar to the Boy
Scouts).
OR if you wish to join one, please click on the link for the
current regional clubs.
So far we have:
NFLUK FAN CLUB WEST HERTFORDSHIRE
NFLUK FAN CLUB EDINBURGH "
If i have missed your region...let me know and i will add it.
What do you think?

Cool. I'll give it a day or two for the other members to have a
think about it, then I'll post to the forum website.
SO, then we have definitely two clubs:
NFLUK FAN CLUB WEST HERTFORDSHIRE
(
HTML http://facebook.com/groups/NFLUKFANCLUBWESTHERTS)
NFLUK FAN CLUB S/E SCOTLAND (OR EDINBURGH)
Graham, if you want to create the group on FB, then I'll send
you a cover photo to use as a start to make it all a bit more
official looking.
Chris
