       Jacksonville till 2016

Well Jags have certainly put there foot on the I.S. rung and
started climbing the ladder. To actually commit to 4 years worth
of football is something else, and hopefully to other motive
similar to the Rams in the background.
the Jags do have a fan base albeit a lot smaller than others,
but what a target for the NFL to use in getting an increase in
fans. Great oppurtunity for the committee to really get its
       teeth into.

       I agree.
I like the bit about trying to add a second game for next
       season.

Yup, agreed. Definitely happy that the IS series is assured
through to 2016. Like you say Mark, hope there are no ulterior
       motives and it actually happens.

Did *this* not annoy anyone else though?
"The NFL is going to be developing an international fan base.
Why shouldn't it be the Jaguars?'' Khan said in December. ''In
all honesty, internationally, they don't know the difference
between the Jaguars and the Steelers.''

       Yup, really pissed me off.
Number one rule, treat your audience with respect and trust that
they can make their own judgement. I HATE being told what to
think by the TV. None more so when we are told that we dont know
       something that we do.
On another note, it's good news and I actually like the Jags.

Seriously guys, don't sweat the comments.
It won't be the first nor the last.
I listened to the podcast where Neil Reynolds talked about his
interview with Brady and how Brady was condescending
(unintentionally) about how much Neil knew about American
       football.
While I have alot of American friends (who have been ex-pats and
so do not fit the stereotype) many are ignorant, not just about
what goes on outside the USA, but even outside their own state.
When quizzing Americans and Canadians about the American states,
on average, Canadians could name more American states than the
       Americans.
I used to get all kinds of crap about what they didn't know
about Canada. I.E. We didn't know Canada had any big cities, we
thought you were fishermen/farmers, we didn't know you had
summer up here, where are the igloos. You get the point.
Americans, generally are so caught up in their own area and
world, they don't know and don't take the time to understand
what people do know of their culture and sports. Again this is a
generalisation and I am sure you have met Americans who are
more culturally aware. I have. I just dont let these comments
bother me. Hell, I have students here who when they find out I'm
Canadian, ask me what Canadia is like. Seriously. ;)
We just have to educate our cousins on what we do know. ;D
