Right first of all guys thanks for the kind words.
The committee is not all about me and what i want and yes i
spent time in putting a base in for us to get started but again
i dont want a medal for it.With the exeption of maybe about half
and my rant is not aimed at you i feel the NFLUK team has let us
down in who they chose for the committee.
Yes the facebook thing did grind on me as it seemed more
important than why we were set up if you get me but hey if thats
the future then so be it.
As i said in London we have to keep things simple and not get
carried away,my head has been all over trying to keep track of
everything.
Anyway ive said my peace guys and to some i hope i dident offend
to the others well i will leave it at that.

Chris
Firstly I stand by what my words this morning and I do not like
the apparent condescending tone of your reply. At the very
outset of this committee I was and still am the conduit between
here and the Nick at NFLUK, and it is not a case of running to
him blabbing. The truth is the truth and it is clear to see.
People do work and have commitments, that is part of life. But
surely at some stage of a week space could be made to come on
here and at least interact in something you have applied for.
Some folk have been doing that which is fine. But where are the
rest of the committee? This is not anger Chris far from it, it
is an abject disbelief that folk apply for a very prestigious
position on behalf of NFLUK and if they read this one of two
things will happen, they will get on board or stay the same. If
it is the latter then they should be replaced, there are plenty
of willing and competent fans biting to take part in this
project. If it wasn't for Ken setting this site up, and myself
explaining how a committee is supposed to work and actually
getting threads together so we can talk. I do believe we would
still be twiddling our thumbs.
I am very well aware of what goes on in the NFLUK site that this
committee is affiliated to, and all should be working alongside
it, not the few.
Facebook does not suit everyone, as some do not want there
details plastered into cyberspace by it, but the decision to go
ahead with it is forcing people onto something that is not
required, and secondly if folk want to take part on this
committee is must done on Facebook. Why? when there is a
perfectly good system in place here which does not force anyone
into a the realms of having there details used. Bear in mind I
have been a moderator on the NFLUK site for 9 years and can say
with some authority a forum is the proper and fit way to deal
with matters like this.
I am not a bullish or temperamental guy, actually the opposite.
But when I see the situation and non movement of a dedicated
committee I say my peace.

Mark,
I am trying to be diplomatic here and not condescending, if that
is how you've read it.
I will not apologise for what I have said, as there is nothing
to apologise for.
I agree that there is not enough input from absent members.
I understand your frustration, but I do not want to further
fracture the group.
We could spend all day going on about this. It will not get us
anywhere. You make reference to twiddling thumbs and it actually
still feels like that to extent. Your passion for this to work
is evident as is that of others on this forum.
I have suggested an action plan, and it's only been a few hours,
but shouldn't we be focussing on that? We give ourselves
deadlines (even with commitments) and we are bound to get
something done.
Also, as for those members who we haven't heard from, why not
start another thread asking everyone if they are committed, or
if not, to step down and re-advertise their role?
There are a number of us who are trying here.
Can we try and bring the focus back by having a series of
deadlines? I have set up another thread asking everyone for
their feedback if they are happy with it. It is simple, and
shouldn't be any more complicated than that.
Mark, I was in no way attacking you. I want what we all wan,t in
that we work together and make some progress. And for Ken not to
resign.
Regards
Chris

THIS IS RIDICULOUS - a kingdom divided against itself cannot
stand and this petty squabble will resolve nothing - if this
continues I think I will clear off too!
Folks - we need to get on the same page here not assume someone
is condescending because they are unhappy over a scenario. .
come on folks. . chill out :)

Exactly, I agree.
If you have a moment, could you check out the suggested Action
Plan and leave your thoughts? Cheers

Hi All,
Reading the above comments it seems that the topic I started
regarding a move to facebook has caused some friction which
certainly was not the intent. To recap the topic was started
because;
1. It was clear that we were not getting input from everyone -
listening to the opinions of others it seemed that this may be
partially due to the method of communication as opposed to lack
of interest.
2. This forum is extremely frustrating for anyone who wants to
navigate it on a mobile, which clearly for some of us would help
us be more productive in lunch breaks, whilst travelling etc
3. There is a live chat feature which is better for "meetings"
4. It seems that most people are on facebook and so could then
more easily fit this into the day
5. I think we'd get more done more easily
My last comment on the matter was that because the vote was 2:1
in favour I would look into it and I asked others if they would
help evaluate it before moving forward any further.
I think what has happened here is that because people were
allowed to vote, it has drawn more attention than other topics
but clearly my observations above were not unfounded. But hey,
if allowing everyone a voice and a vote is the way to make
decisions then that's what needs to be done.
I'm going to hold off on spending any of my time looking at
facebook until a chair is elected which is clearly an issue.
Does anyone have an objection if we start a vote for Chair? I
think that's what is needed now.

Hello Guys,
I would like to apologise for my absence from the forum due to
being on holiday for the last few weeks.
I tried to establish contact while away, but to no avail.
I have not been lazy or deliberately ignored this forum, i am
very excited to be a part of it and to share my views with you
all.
The comment originally made by Chris was spot on, we cannot go
complaining to Nick and the NFL UK about this.
We should keep tabs on this now and send out a little knudge to
people who are maybe not sharing their views as much as they
should be.
This is a great opportunity and would be a shame to waste it.
Ken, i do hope you can reconsider your plans of resignation,
would be a shame to lose your valued input.
Would a meeting in London suffice for anyone? maybe we could
find a meeting place and have discussions purely as a committee?
This may be hard for some people but could be useful to build up
some communication face to face, instead of being behind the
screen?
Getting to know everyone abit better may help some people be
more open about their views??
What do people think?
Regards
Kyle

Guys this is pointless. This childish arguing and bickering will
accomplish nothing. We are supposed to be a group of adult fans
passionate about developing a game that we all love and
representing other fans (including to 100s we were chosen over
to be on this committee). This arguing among ourselves will
accomplish nothing, seeing as it is primarily directed at those
who are not here and will not read these anyway.
It's been almost five weeks since the meeting and this forum has
been up and running since 19th July, emails have been sent by
Ken and there have been replies from members with all 20 members
included within the recipients. I have emailed minutes of thread
discussions (the compiling of which was by no means a short
task) to all 20 on 8th August, asking people to comment on the
committee positions and the proposed agendas. It can't be said
that people haven't been informed.
Realistically at this stage what good is starting afresh on
facebook? Surely it will set us back about 20 steps?? We need to
come together and remember that we are a committee and a team
not a bunch of individuals and work together with what and who
we have.
Chris and Graham have put themselves forward as chair. I have
mentioned electing a chair in my email on August 8th, so
everyone knows about it.
Chris has proposed an action plan, I say let's work towards
this. We are all adults here let's put this bickering aside and
move on (we're not politicians ;) ).
Let's make the most of this.
Andy

guysi'd like to post freely on the main site, I believe im still
on the list of members, might be good to take me out as some of
my comments may not be in line with your proces here?
Also maybe it might be worth getting someone in to replace those
who have left at some point as 700+ people applied for this and
im sure would love to participate
