Resignation

Hello All
Its been a bit of a dramatic week for me, in a good way, all
being well It looks like I will be transferred to our head
office in Miami just in time for the regular season next month,
this wont be for long but will definitely impact my contribution
to this process. I think therefore it maybe best that i step
aside and let someone else take up my spot. I honestly didnt see
this coming, I was under the assumption the progect im being
assigned to was going to be done in our offices here, in fact i
actually had a holiday booked in the US which I have to cancel
now!
I really think this is bold move by the NFL UK and you guys are
lucky not only to have an insight into what they are doing but
also being ambassadors to your fellow fans who sometimes just
want their voice heard and questions answered, I wish you all
good luck, im sure things will evolve with time to a point where
your really making a difference and thats such a great thing to
give something back to somethng you love
please feel free to keep in contact with me, my details are
below, and once again good luck to you all....

I wish you all the very best Shani. Opportunities like this are
one in a million so grab it and enjoy it, only fly in the
ointment is that it is Phinland. Suppose you can't have
everything lol.

Yes Shaun, need to take a step back before I break shall we say.
I'm not liking the direction this is going ect but hopefully
the others on here or even new blood can take it 4ward.

I am furious this morning. Ken spent a lot of time on here
getting this set up and brought in a lot of NFL experience from
varying directions including the NFLUK boards. For him to resign
from here is shocking and unacceptable. It is clear why he has
in my view.
1. More interest in trying to get a Facebook site started
without dealing on here first and basically slapping Ken in the
face for his effort.
2. The serious lack of any input by the a great number of
committee members, who would rather go to London than do
anything here.
3. An attitude of not taking part on the NFLUK site, bearing in
mind that this is part of the NFLUK enviremt and how else are
you going to get an idea on attitudes and interact with fans.
If folk don't start pulling there fingers out and get serious
about this set up it is going to fall flat on its face, quickly.
It is down to yourselves but I am making Nick aware today of all
that has gone in and the lack of input from committee members.

Mark,
I would be a shame for Ken to pull out of this. Yes, he has put
a lot of effort into this.
I have emailed him this morning to ask him to reconsider.
I, too, believe if he walks away, this will fall apart. It will
be too much of a transition to get people to replace.
As I stated in another post, while it appears nothing is
happening, there is. People are responding to the info placed on
the NFLUK site.
As we represent everyone, we need their input before we can move
forward.
Give it another week and see what people have said.
I understand your frustration at not having everyone participate
in this. But, there are a number of us who are contributing, and
if this anger is directed at those not, chances are they aren't
going to read your message, and those of us who are making the
effort will take it as an attack from you. This will also put
people off and could result in more resignations. This I do not
want to see happen.
Running to Nick will only tell him it's failed and he will feed
this back to Alistar, and that will be the end of this
committee.
We all have to be a bit more diplomatic about this. This is in
our hands, and if we are running to Nick to complain about how
it isn't working then they won't give us a chance to present to
them again.
I do hope Ken reconsiders this action.
I am aware the forum wasn't everyone's first choice, but here we
are and it's established. I think the suggested move to FB was
to get those other individuals involved.
We don't have a Chair yet.
Let's remain calm. Pointing fingers and accusing people of not
taking it seriously is only going to further fragment this
fragile committee. Most of us are new to this.
I propose an action plan of the following:
1. Explain the issues surrounding merch and tv/broadcasting to
the fan community (asap)
2. Let them digest it, and feed back (give it till Aug 23rd)
3. Collate the information and share to committee members as an
agenda for discussing (Aug 26th)
4. Have an online meeting (maybe via a phone conference call app
or here - Aug 28th)
5. Decide on THE issue we want to submit in the Autumn (Aug
28th)
6. Minutes to be shared (Aug 30th)
7. Proposal drawn up by Sept 5th
8. Review of proposal (Sept 8th)
9. 2nd draft drawn up (sept 12)
This gives us some structure and surely will help us move
forward.

I dont neccesarily think its a slap in the face to move to FB -
although I do understand Ken has spent time setting this up -I
do log in here every day and only post if I have something to
say - with regards to FB I may have been rather selfish in my
vote as I log into FB as a matter of course several times a day
and so it is a quick stop and I catch up on a number of things
without having to think about a seperate log in or a seperate
site - it has no reflection on Ken and is effort - for which he
should be commended as I dont know if I would be able to set up
a forum?
I recognise though that not everyone has or wants FB and so for
that reason maybe a seperate forum is the way ahead?
Let me be clear I am trying to attempt to fit this committee
around my full time job, my wife and 4 children and my church
life and while this is important to me it in no way will
encroach on those other commitments and nor should it and I will
make no apology on that.
Perhaps for some it is all about getting to London for a jolly
but in truth I wonder if I will only be taking part by phone due
to my other commitments, although if we meet in London again I
certainly hope to be there.
I want this committee to work and all members should be
registered and using this site if only to check in..
to finish it is sad to see Ken leave but I understand his
frustration and reasons.
