What a lousy host.
How is avidity still in business? They're stealing from Shameer.

Mario should take them to small claims court and get a judgement
againts them. This way they have to either hire a lawyer to fly
out to Ohio and represent them. Then Mario can put me in as an
owner.. I take them to small claims court in Los Angeles and
they have to get someone to represent them... Then put Sonny as
an owner and he does the same thing... Then Dr. Cok and he takes
them to OC small claims.. and we just keep on doing the same
thing for a whole year. Every lakerboarder becomes an owner and
take them to small claims court in their part of the country...
FUCK AVIDITY!!!

Here's the update.
When the board went down today - I didn't contact avidity. ****
em. This is a perfect time to stop. I created a backup file of
the board - took all day for the compression (26GB). Downloading
the file now.
By morning it should be done downloading - and from that I'm
putting it on a new host server. ML is already on standby to
point the urls lb.com and lb.net to the new host.
By tomorrow night - this should be over. If I run into any
hiccups tomorrow, I'll tell avidity about the error and have
them bring in back. But I hope the next and last post on avidity
is me telling everyone that we're blowing the joint.

What is the advantage of not notifying avidity now?

Posts made since the backup file would be lost.
And since you are a sailor's favorite asshole, it would be wrong
for Capt Jack miss that goodness.

Aren't posts that are never made likewise lost?
Maybe I'm solo here, but I'd rather be able to download my brain
now rather than worry about preserving the dump for the future.
Of course, the other thing is.....nothing ever goes as smoothly
as hoped. I know you are and will continue to bust your ass.
But the board won't be back at the new host tomorrow, so let's
just get a jump on it is my thought.

I too would be surprised by a live board on a different host
tomorrow or even this week. We received at least one note that
the code appeared to be outdated which might require some
editing to install it on another server properly. That means
more downtime.
I am convinced we lost posters when we have downtime. Extended
periods of downtime increase the rate we lost interest in the
board.
Seems like a big leap into the void.

I guess the only thing I have in common with avidity is I just
took a major crap.
