every day not knoing if you'll make it home in one piece."

The gorillas rush the group, knifes and hands to the ready.
And the hits just keep on coming. Admittedly I'm pretty good at
multitasking, you know being the fastest man alive and all. But
I'm already up to my neck in supercharged rogues and doctor
Elias' treachery not the ideal time for a full scale gorilla
invasion.

the first ape has a knife, i hit him in the stomach and throw
him over to binshou, hit the second in the face "feel free to

They can keep or scream all they want, but we all have a part to

Gorillas fall from the sky and surroned the rogues "where you
think you going." "Enemy if my enemy huh len?" "Whatever let's
kick some monkey ass!"
Hmmm. I don't remember them being this quick, I should be
running circles around them. But I'm not, almost like there
predicting my movements." I hop from one to the next and swing
around a lamps and jump on another one. "Okay. Wheres that
psychopath you call a leader?!"
Farenheight forms a fire circle around the rogres "were doing
the right thing here right?" "Shut up marco."
"Show some respect to king grodd!" He grabs my back and throws
me to the ground.

"okay this is getting weird, need a hand red?" "Depends, do I
have to worry about you blinding me when my back is turned?"
"Not while we have dogs in this hunt." She uses her hair and
strangely the gorillas "okay, well call this time out. I've got
to contain this attack before innocent people get hurt." "Agreed

your going to lead the rogues and take out as many of these apes

it nigga! I'll make sure I don't make you fight an army of

A FEW BLOCKS AWAY
The base of the gorrila army. A gorilla walks to Grodd as he
sits on his throne of random concrete, and street lights. "How
goes the conquest general?" "Our apes have their hands full with
the streak and the odd clothed humans. Will you join the fight
my king?" " Not yet, there is something else in this city.
Something powerful that requires my attention." "Shall I escort
you?" "No, kill the streaks allies and bring him to me." A man
walks through the crowd in his odd clothes "excuse me.. you're
the head ape in charge right? hi Trickster, I'll cut to the
chase here. Looks like your setting up in Hub city and you've
got big plans. Am I right? Well the streak is the head freak
here and he's not gonna be happy about your little invasion. You
could use a local liason to show you around and get you in and
out of wherever you want. Someone who knows this place like the
back of his hand. What ya say?" "Back of your hand? You know
nothing!" Grodd rips Tricksters hand off his body " I do not
need help. I take what I want I am king Grodd. While I'm away
have the troops round up the humans the elder will need all of
them."
"Damn it Selina where are you! It's getting crazy out here and I
need to know your okay. Fucking Gorillas have overrun the city
and are rounding people up. I get early parole and step right
into a Scifi movie. Come on. I just want to make sure you're
okay before I get the hell out of here. please be out of town.
Screw it. I'm coming to you."
This dosent make scence.. a full scale gorilla war and no sign
of grodd. The question is why? He still belives he is meant to
have my powers and I'm in his way. It's not like him to pass up
the chance to do it himslef.
I zip between all the gorillas as I can see. I see Farenheight
getting grabbed "get your stinking paws off me!" "Ow! Watch
where your shooting that!" Cold freezes a gorillas face "you
monkeys picked the wrong city to invade. This is rogues
territory!" "Looks like you need to get bailed out again
streak." "Let's just do this thing."
grodds up to something. And the longer it takes me to get to
him. The worse it gets for everyone. I got to end this now. Even
if it means working along with the rogues that just tried to
take me out. Like Darryl said I've got to look at the big
picture. We gotta protect our house before we restore order.

and he's after the streak for his power not to kill him." more
pods fall from the sky bringing more in.
As I race towards the greatest threat I've ever faced. I can't
help but think about Darryls words of wisdom. I run because I
have to. I run Because time and space needs me to. I work with
the JIA because sometimes there are dangers to big for one
person can handle. I protect the gem cities from all who seek to
do It harm because it is my home. It can be alot to handle but I
know my part. Grodd has spent all of his life living in a
Delusion he thought he was the chosen one my existence threatens
that notion. He needs to come to grips with the truth about the
speed force. It's not a birthright.

cracked with the speed force energy he has absorbed from the
batteries.

VIRUNGA MOUNTAINS GENERATIONS AGO
Evolution. Most rational thinkers have come to terms with this
concept and accept it as fact. History shows that over time,
species change on a genetic level. To adapt to the conditions of
the world they inhabit. It's not a new concept. Darwin called it
natural selection, Gregor mendel called it principals of
hereditary. Twenty first century calls it modern evolutionary
synthesis. The common thread, is that evolution is drawn out.
It's a gradual process. Except when it isint, i know sometimes
it happens in a flash. I am grodd, this is my destiny.
Okay... Not only is the talking gorilla with advanced technology
and super strength now has the abilities of the speed force,
he's really fast.
"Run all you want little mouse! You can not stop me from
claiming my birthright!"
Kinda overkill if you ask me.And since he's not gonna stop
chasing me until he sinks his teeth into my brain. Time to open
up a Lead on him. Let's see if he can keep up.

car on me but I phase through it. "Nice try. But I'm not just

"Get down!" Turbine launches the pod back through the hole in
the wall. "Turbine, what was that?" "King grodds invasion of the
city has begun. And he's got his eyes set on the speed force and
the streak." "Did you say gorilla invasion?" "patty I can help
you find jim, but I need to find someone who can help me."
The machine is working elder one! Hub city is a radioactive
waste land! The humans would be fools to approach it." "Of
course, king grodd never doubted my talents but with all the
other elder ones dead. I cannot maintain this effort alone. I
need additional minds to siphon from. I need more humans." "Yes
elder you will have them. you will have an entire coliseum
full."
"This is getting stupid! How many monkeys are there?" "Does it
matter? As long as they keep coming were going to keep

disrespect but this sibling rivalry is getting old as shit!"

I'll never admit to Grodd but ever since a gorilla attacked me
on a safari when I was a kid I've never been a fan. But like mom
said: there is no courage without fear. I guess that makes me
pretty courageous right now. Still, I'm going to stay away from
him see if the speed force wears off."
Before I finish my thought grodd grabs me and slams me down to
the concrete head first.
"Your powers, your city all belong to King Grodd!!"

When I was stuck, i saw the past. And I saw a course for the
future... a c ouse that would lead darkness to all. So I decided
to act. With a heavy heart I abandoned my burgeoning gorilla
civilization.

using my mind and my gifts, i trance trancended time and space.
My mission... jump ahead along the continuum and deliver a
message that will save out future.
"Thanks again for taking the time to accommodate our stage

affairs it isint that strange, epecially considering how he got

"He appeared out of nowhere fifteen years ago. Dropped right out
of the sky." "You belive that?" "Who can say where he came from?
I know he wasint from that wildlife preserve. And when he shows
up he was a crazed animal. Killed and devoured an antelope and
attacked a safari jeep. Luckily no one got hurt... here he is.
sitting in the cage alone is an old gorilla with white further
around his face "I've been waiting a long time for both of you..
my name is solovar.
Sure there's no fear without courage. But mom, sometimes courage
isint enough.
Grodd hits me shattering my helmet and sends me flying down the
street.
Turbine and the others arrive on the scene as grodd grabs a stop
sign. "This is how it was always going to end Streak. Time to
die."

My name is Patty Spivot. I'm a police scientist for Hub city,
the town that's endured a total blackout, an attack by the
rogues, and now a gorilla invasion. It's been one hell of a
year. Then a few moments ago I came to realize the man I've been
missing for Months is not only alive but is the streak. Now a
time traveling gorilla tells me I have to be there in his
darkest hour. But I may be to late.
"Get away from him!" "Patty, we've already lost." "You run if
you want turbine! But I'm not leaving here without him!" "You'd
rather die with him then?" She throws rocks at the king of the
apes. "Who dares! Ugggh. No, no. Not now! Must... be wearing
Off.. need more.." "what's happening to him?" "He dosent look
good does he?" "I couldint be happier!" Turbine forms a cyclone
and throws hundreds of rocks at grodd.
"What do we got coproal? " "I don't know what caused the gem
cities to go up in smoke. But this place is hot! Radioactivity
is off the charts." "Pull back and form a perimeter."
"What is the plan elder" Even with these humans how long can you
keep up this charade? " "as long as our king commands." "And
what if the humans see through your telepathic mirage? What if
we face the full might of the human civilization then what?"
"enough! We stay because it is our duty! We have our part to
play. I made the mistske of defying our king once. It will not
happen a second time. We will help our king take back the power
of the light.
The rogues move towards the stadium ad the fight continues
"they're snatching up civilans left and right. We gotta do
something now!" "Ready len? " "always am!" Captain cold forms an
ice ball around the rogues. As mirror master appears in the
reflection "bring them my way the mirror world is open for
buisness.

He grabs the last speed force battery and opens it.

Spiders here. Spiders there. Spiders even in your hair. Cool
breeze. Tight squeeze, now you got the shierees."
BROOME HILL, HOME OF CAPTAIN DARYLL FRYE
"Patty." "Captian, Donovin, he won't wake up." "Hey pal, i wish
I could stay long. But the station is in ruins, we're assembling
a task force. Rookies, vets, you name it. This is our last
stand. I can't promise I'll be back. But how about you wake up
and fight with me. Side by side?" "I will help you the best way
I can. If this city has no future then no one will help me get
back to my home to be with my family." "Thank you turbine. It's
good to have you back."
So this is what death feels like. Disconnected. Fleeting
thoughts, swirling around. Trying to grab on to something.
Memories, feelings, an anchor to life. Colors fade, am I really
dyIng? Thoughts. like memories of things I haven't seen yet,
things I haven't done. this car be death. This is something
else.
speed mind. My body is paralyzed but my thoughts race. Revealing
possible scenarios. A multitude of actions. Roads that could
have been taken. Either to victory. Or defeat.
unacceptable. So we fight, patty. I feel her beside me.
Unwilling to leave. Survival, loyalty. Repeatedly I fail. We
fail. As we defy grodd at every turn. There are no winners, only
death. No. It can't end like this! I have to, i must.

"I gotta admit. I didn't see this coming, kind of surprising
honestly." "Why Donovin? Cant a viable single lady ask an
attractive young man to lunch?" "So is this just a lunch?"
"Youre asking if this is a full on date? Does it feel like one?"
"Well Selena. Kinda." "There you go." "You must want to go out
with me pretty badly to withstand this weather." "Absolutely.
Not even these hurricanes can keep us apart." "You think mother
nature is trying to tell us something?" "Yeah. That we should go
inside."
Yhe wind blows the reporters papers off the table. "No worries,
I got them." "Wow! That was crazy fast, howd you" "Videogames,
totally helps with hand eye coordination. What is this? You want
to wheedle me for information about your brothers case." "Its
not like that. I figured that since we were going out anyway, I
might as well ask you about." "Be honest, is this the reason you
asked me out?" "Is that what you think?" "I trust the facts."
NOW
"So that's it? Youre just going to give up?" "Theres no other
way. I have to turn myself over. Believe me, I've run all the
angles. If I fight grodd. Every outcome ends in tragedy." "How?
with all of your powers" "Grodd is stronger, and he wants my
powers. He wants me.. He wants to be the master of the speed
force. And if he dosent he will wipe out the city." "Do you
think hell stop when he gets your powers?"
I wish I could promise her that Ill be back. I will do whatever
it takes to keep this city safe. I can feel the speed force
pulling me towards grodd. As a matter of fact I can sence
everyone who has been touched by the speed force. I can feel the
pull of them all. Grodd, Turbine, even Solovar. The mind will
always be faster. Im pinning my hopes to those words. Lets see
if those words of wisdom are worth a damn.
DOCTOR ELIAS LABROTORY
King grodd awaits my arrival by sitting on a makeshift throne in
front of the batteries. "Grodd! You looking for me?"
HUB CITY
"Okay folks, last stop on the monkey train! Humans only. Ready
to do your thing weather wizard?" "Way ahead of you cold!" He
zaps the gorillas trying to get in the busses with lightning.
"Looks like your up Lisa." "Hope this works." Golden Glider
drags the buses through the makeshift mirror.
What the hell is going on? Kidnapped by apes and now the Rogues
are taking us? I diddint get out of prison to get snatched in
some freaky slave trade. Think Daniel think! Gotta do something.
"You are a coward and a quitter streak. Proving beyond a doubt
that you are not worthy of the gift of the light. You wasted
your potential trying to preserve the status quo, when you had
the power to change the world. I will not make the same mistake.
My civilization will not step aside for humankind and all of its
flaws. Today I show my elders and my apes they were wrong to
lose faith in me!.............. So that's it? You have nothing
to say?! In your final moments this is how you go down? Like a
lamb!...... Good then this story is over!" Grodd throws a spear
at my head.
Like cole grodd suffers from one flaw, overconfidence, and
arrogance. The mind will always be faster.
The spear disintegrates, and a portal to the speed force is

fast, I use my speed mind, patent pending for quick thinking. To
calculate outcomes. to see potential paths for the future. Your
path, my path. Ive seen how it ends, in death. So I brought you
here, you wanted the power of the speed force. well welcome to
it." "This is your final miscalculation. I can feel my power
growing immensely." "You can get as big and strong as you want
Grodd. But here I am king, and your only way out is through me."
We run at each other "I wouldn't have it any other way."
I feel another presence in the speed force. stronger than
grodds, I see a group of people close to our fight. The people
from the boat, including "Selena?!"

The streak stole my birthright and buried me beneath Gorilla
citys ancient temple. But I never doubted myself. The
treacherous elders left me for dead until General Silverback
unearthed me from my rocky tomb. Yet I never wavered in my
conviction. When I returned to reclaim my throne my
determination inspired an army. Because I know what I am. I am
their king. The light bearer. The chosen one. Defy me and I will
destroy you. I am Grodd destiny is on my side.
"Tell me streak, should i play with your friends first, or are
you eager to die? "Ill take c, none of the above. "Even now you
think you have a chance. Friends first then!" Grodd charges the
group of people and I step in front of him and take the punch.
The chest piece explodes but repairs itself immidetly. I hit
grodd on the chin and he flies "I already told you, in her I am
king!" "No I am the chosen" I hit his stomach with quick hits
and then bring my knee to his face. "Enough with that, saying it
out load over and over again doesn't make it so. Youre
delusional, this fight is over?" My kick gets caught by Grodd, I
didn't even see his hand move.
'The humans have beached the stadium!" "Be careful, the citizens
are hooked into the machine." All out war brakes between the
remaining apes and the police.
IN THE MIRROR WORLD
"The police cant possibly disconnect them all and keep up the
fight, gorillas are to powerful." 'Show them how its done Lisa."
Glider grabs the transmitters but loses her grip "I cant hold
on!" The transmitters get caught in a tornado "Ive got them, but
what do I do with them?" "Send them up here twirly guy." "Names
turbine!!" "Whatever."
"The connection is free. I am free!"
"Sir, I don't know how but the is back where its supposed to
be." "And the radiation?" "Gone." "Perfect all units move in!"
A tank breaks through the stadium and the fighting stops, a
gorilla asks "What is that?" "That's the army genius!"
"Cavalry's here? We've done our part rogues, lets leave the hero
stuff for the heroes.
"I love this place! Im defying gravity in here Now I believe its
time for." A wooly mammoth runs through the battle ground "Grodd
lets switch dance partners, you take the deues ex wooly cha. and
ill take the pretty one. How you doing selina?" "Cerainly took
your time diddint you?" "A good plan takes time. Something Grodd
will have plenty of in here." "Does that include a way to get
us outta here?" "Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"
A portal opens up above the stadium and the streak and the
civilians fall out of it. "Last stop Hub city."
Move forward, he always says move forward.

DIAMOND DISTRICT, COAST CITY
A jewelry store, covered in darkness guarded by one sleeping
guard? No problem for a rogue, except that it is. An explosion
rattles the store and takes half of it with it Including the
guard, the figure takes the jewelry and runs out.
There's an assumption that being a superhero is all about
punching bad guys and stopping runaway trains. That's a big part
of it, and a fun one. But the rest is helping your city in every
way you can. Even if that means hammering nails or putting up
drywall. After grodds invasion nearly brought the gem cities to
ruin I've been doing a lot of both. And if I'm a little worn
down since I put on the new red and gold. I don't mind, I'm
doing what I'm supposed to do, and If it was that or being
normal I will put up all the drywall in the world.
Life hasint got back to normal but it's getting better, except
for the fact I don't have my old job back.
"You're late donny. " "up yours Tyler."
Suspended police scientist and super hero by day. Beer slinger
at the oldest bar in Coast city by night. It's temporary but I
like it, tyler and Jessie have really cleaned the place up, for
an extra five dollars you can have a seat that doesn't have
vomit or a roach on it. But I have to do it until the union
reinstates me from being declared officialy dead.
"Another one over here Ty. And can you put it on my tab? Works
been slow since the ape-ocapalypse."
Besides working here does have its benefits. (Flash fact:For
almost 20 years this bar has catered to outlaws. So it's a good
way to keep up with the gem cities resident bad guys, like the
trickster.)
"So what kinda work do you do?" "Why? You Looking to put a crew
together? I'm not one to brag but there ain't a safe I can't
brake into."

themselves.
"Hey man I can trust you right?" "absolutley." "I used to run
with the rogues. And those jerks gave me the boot for no reason.
But I'm not one to complain cause now I get in touch with my
roots. And check this out!" Trickster shows off his new robotic
arm, complete with gadgets and doodads complete with a chrome
finish.
"During the invasion some stupid ape ripped my arm off so me and
my real family got together and made me this! Only took her out
for a test drive once." "how that work out for you?" Suddenly
cops burst through the door "oh shit ! Jessie get the hookers
outta here and burn the trap house!" "Axel walker! You are under
arrest." "Oh! Naw jessie we good. Get them back down there."
"You are under arrest for robbery and murder!" "Theres gotta be
a mistake I diddint murder anybody!" The cops take him out "wow,
do you think trickster did it?" "We bout to find out homie."
"Can I come?" "Sure after you deliver drinks to table 12" "but
someone could-" "could die of a lack of drinks now get to work!"
Outside the trickster activates rocket boots and flys away
"catch ya later suckers!" Trickster flies but a flying bike
turns a corner and a dark skinned man in a red and black spandex
suit jumps out and tackles him into a building "gotcha!" "yeah!
That's what you get for messing with the speed force! Nice job
Gomez!" "Don't use my real name dude!" "Sorry sprint!" "No
problem turbo charger." Sprint falls off trickster and lands in
traffic "this is gonna hurt!"
A red streak runs in and grabs him
I recognize these two. Darrick and gomez, two of the innocent
bystanders who got sucked into the speed force. Who've
apparently come out with powers. Awesome, more people who want
to be like me.
I put him down on a nearby street "stay here!" "Like hell, I'll
go wherever I want."
"You're mine trickster!" trickster shoots a net at the kid
sending me to the street below. A black streak runs in and
stacks tables on each other "ya that's fine." The kid crashes
through them "that hurt." "Ya but that shit was funny." sprint
comes up to him "quit fooling and get up!" "Dude we are helping
Binshou and the flash catch bad guys! How cool is that!" "Who
needs em? We got this?" The trickster is knocked out as the
flash holds him up and Binshou puts the shows in his bag. "What?
These are droses they fresh as hell!" "We need to talk."
HUB CITY PARK

Here's a flash fact for ya. There are no clear pictures of the
perp. Just blurry pictures at best completely inconclusive. The
rogues are blue collar criminals and unrefined but killing is
against there rues. Stranger still the blast left no incindeary
residue. Also, blasting an entire wall out of a building is not
tricksters M.O. when it comes to his work he's a surgical theif.
As someone who has been on the wrong end of his blast they
aren't full fledged explosives.

I run down to the armory guns, RPGS, and Trick grenades. I hear

Outside of the prison the outlander army stands ready, tanks and
helicopters and hundreds of men ready to fire "this is your last
chance!"

I run outside but, I hit a blur wall and my costume breaks into
little metal pieces.

attacking Iron heights! Your not gomez." "Thank you for

"We don't have any specifics at this time but we do no that a
Fire fight has broken out for nearly twenty minutes."
"Marisa, where's gomez we gotta put a stop to them or there
gonna break trickster out of jail! And is that a new 60- inch
tv?" "Yes, and gomez hasint come home yet. You don't think he
went to iron heights do you?" "Without me?" "Gomez better not
have. We've got to get there before he does something stupid."
"We? But you don't have any speed force powers?" "you gonna stop
me?" "No mam. I really hope the flash is there."
My name is Donovin craig, and I am not the fastest man alive.
Twenty minutes ago I was the flash. But now Imust just a man, I
don't even feel any connections to the speed force. And now I'm
hiding two bags of super villan weapons that cannot fall into
the hands of the guys currently taking over iron heights right
now. These guys have no problem using deadly force so I have to
stop them before anyone gets hurt.
Basically I'm a guy who's way over his head. There are
outlanders swarming all over the prison, and I have no idea how
I'm gonna stop them from breaking the trickster out. When they
find the armory empty they're gonna be pissed. And... they'll
take it out on the officer I see walking them to the armory.
Damnit, I'm allergic to bullets.
"Where is the tricksters stuff?!" Weather wizards old wand.

it. But let's see if I can get it to do....a thing.

turbocharged boat crashes onto the beach. "Are we dead?" "No,

I hear the familiar chime of the elevator and I know the second
squad has arrived. They want the tricksters equipment so bad?
Take the gas grenade then!
The grenade goes off and all the thugs fall over one another.
I quickly stuff my gear and myslef into the air vent to not have
to go through round 3.
that's donovin 14 outlanders 0 now to figure out my next move.
The trickster and the outlanders move through the corridors.

Suddenly all the doors swing open the prisoners come out.

all right I've got the element or surprise ad I've hidden the
weapons they have no idea who I am, where I am, or how many i
have with me. Things are looking goo-
"Helllpppl!!!" Darrick runs from the swarm of prisoners as an
electric boomerang hits the ground knocking them out.
Darrick? Oh come on! That's the last thing I need! Now I have to
play hide and seek and-
I walk in on the trickster and the outlanders surronding Darrick
"Hey Dont I know you?" "Donovin?!" "Who've you are drop your
weapons!" "Darrick. . Plea section don't tell me gomez is here
to." "Ya your that bartender right?" "Did you get powers too?"
"So you took Axels belongings?" "Yes, no, and no comment." "I'm
confused why are you here?" Darrick turbocharged the gun pointed
at me causing it to explode. "what is that?" "It wasint me! And
it ain't this gun either!"

and the whole room becomes a frozen wall.
I knew I recognized those vibrations. you lied to me. You did
get speed force powers.
I see Marissa frozen in the block of ice.
suddenly the metal from my ring comes out and reattaches itslef
to me.

what I do when u vibrate through objects. If done at the wrong
frequency it causes the molecules to explode. Because of that,

I should have know about marrisa. I thought it was residual
energy but everyone who's been in the speed force has manifested
powers. Everyone except selina.
it seems like the more I learn about the speed force the less I
understand.
WATCHTOWER
among the perks of being in the justice league I also get access
to all the cutting edge equipment.
I use the watchtower central computer. There's access to alot of
covert intelligence alot alot.

meta project involving a dial shaped siphon thattemporarily
siphon super heroes powers. A Power set matching mine appeared
in Toronto the second I lost mine and when it dissappeared I got

possible to be honest I'm surprised I made a diffrence." "But

Every time I step out there as the flash I do so with all these
powers at my disposal. But when batman or green arrow go out
there. I don't know how they do it." "So your saying theres an

Much has been said about your first kill. How you react, how you
feel after. What the effects are. I diddint cry, I diddint throw
up. Because belive it or not I'm the good guy. This isint easy

right. luckily with my abilities. If I need to.. I can always
