"Okay, you want me to tell you a story? Alright but I'm gonna be
honest I'm not very good at it. Not like my old man, boy could
he spin a yarn and keep you stuck to your seat, hook, line and
sinker. Yup, Dad was probably better at tellin stories than
anything else, just ask my mom.
first thing though, ya gotta tell me something. Because for this
story to make Sence... to mean anything... you have to belive in
something. Something very important, you have to be live people
can change.
I'm talking change in a positive way, change for the better...
I'm talking about the idea that a person can take years of
programming and habit and turn it on their ass. That when the
deck is stacked against him, he can get the stones to overcome.
It might be difficult for you to understand after all your just
a kid. In life as people get older they get set in their ways,
most people never change its too scary like staring off a
cliff... most people can't make the leap.
some people wanna change... Desperately, but the deck is stacked
against 'em. Take bob for example, guy in his twenty's pale skin
and to pour to rub two nickels together, if he could old bob
would change almost everything about his life. This Bob, he's a
stand up kinda fellow. Trouble is he's been down on his luck
since, forever and he has a family to take care of. A sick
little boy. His job, well lets say it ain't the stuff of dreams.
A dead end job in a dead end town. And his boss? Don't even get
me started! The definition of cut throat, an evil man that only
cared about one thing and nothing else. People would whisper his
name almost to afraid to say it out loud. The hell did he call
himself? Bob reached into his pocket and took out a note.
"If your going to work for me don't get caught dozing off! Take
this bag and take it into the alley between Washington and 7th
street. There will be a man waiting, give him the bag and come
back and you get paid! Just that easy! But if you mess up ill
kill you and your kid alright? Toodles!"
P.S have a merry christmas
Anyway Bob was desperate the medical bills were stacking up and
with the economy in the toilet getting work someplace wasn't
exactly an option. Even if
It meant doing a job he diddint really like for a person he
liked even less. Man I can't be live I don't remember this guys
name! I think its a sound effect or something, when dad first
told it to me I could have sworn he was slurring...oh yarn
that's right! Guys name was scrooge! What a name huh? Anyway,
like I said this scrooge guy diddint like or care for anyone. He
diddint even wanna give Bob christmas off to spend with his
family. To scrooge giving time off was like letting him get away
with a crime. Lets talk for a second about this scrooge guy, we
all know by now that he's a mean old bastard. But what we don't
know is how cunning he can be. Yay don't get to the position
scrooge was in by being a dummy. It wasint just that people were
scared of him. And be live me they were. It was that people
trusted him to be five steps ahead of the game. Once he saw what
he wanted there wasint much that could stop him. And bob learned
about it in that alley way, cause mean old scrooge was waiting
for him. He jumped pour of his skin when he saw him and Bob
diddint want to argue with the guy. He had made a promise to his
son that he would spend christmas with him. Scrooge however
wouldint budge about the time off he had other plans.
Sure bob needed the money but it wasint the most important thing
in his life. He may have been down on his luck but ultimately,
his son was more important to him then anything. And bob put
that to the test when scrooge yelled at him.
"Please don't... i- I gotta kid! Please dont hurt me!" "You have
one chance. Your going to tell me where he is! You won't like
unless you dont wanna walk out of this alley." "Sure sure he- he
gave me a note- and the uh the the" "tell me!" "Its for you!"
Bob handed scrooge his package. Scrooge was not happy about the
contents. He saw a vial of inky black liquid, scrooge became
quite angry and asked "is there more of this!" "No no i dont
know what that is! That's all he said to give to you! I never
met the man before! Honest!" "How was he gonna contact you
after delivering it?" "He was going to send me a note. With
instructions ...look...please....dont." "Scum you never cease to
amaze me. Do you have any idea what this is! You dont deserve to
walk out of here! Consider yourself lucky that you make a better
piece of live bait then jailbait!"
Bob being the good guy that he was considered himself lucky for
a guy down on his luck. Long story short he managed to convince
scrooge to give him the day off. Insurance issues or something.
There was one condition. He would have to come into work the day
after christmas at the crack of
Dawn and be ready to work. Now bob may have had a bit of dumb
luck from time to time but stupid he was not. He knew that
scrooge would make him pay for taking the holiday off. See old
scrooge was vindictive like that. No good dead goes unpunished
and all that. There was a time when bob woulda just quit. That
was before the kid though. He had responsibilities now, stuff
you just can't run away from. Seemed like everything and
everyone reminded Bob of how limited his options were. The
thought follows him like a dog tracking his scent. The dog was
big, and scary.

Fear is a funny thing, though some guys can get so scared that
they let fear stop 'em in their tracks. Its like a thick wall
that stops people from where they wanna go.
scrooge arrives outside of one of gentecks old outposts and
looks at the steel door.
other guys, they break through. They let the fear drive them.
Scroogey was that kind of fella, nothing and no one has ever
stopped 'em.
he finds a note on top of one research logs
"Bravo Alex you missed me. But ill give you a clue. One time
about a week ago I was raiding a camp of bandits, there I am
killing these horrible people honestly you should have seen the
****ed up **** they did, anyway I'm killing and killing and
there's this one dude who comes out of his house, children and
wife watching and he comes at me! With get this a spoon!
(Hahaha) I couldn't belive it! So there I am scooping out his
eyeballs with the thing and his kids are screaming. Moral of the
story is. You're a total ****.
He had forgotten what it was like to want.
now are buddy bob he was the master of want. He woulda given
almost anything to be the fearless type. He wished he could be
the tough guy, someone who took the bull by the horns and all
that brass. The kinda man who makes things happen instead of
waitin' for them to fall in his lap. Big house, fancy car, you
know what im talkin about. Truth be told bob wasint much of a
winner, he lived in a crappy little ramshackle apartment in a
crappier neighborhood.
Tim had a bum leg, im not quite sure exactly what was wrong with
it but his health wasint that great. But he was a big ray of
sunshine though... a real good kid the kind of kid that made
you... well lets say it sucks he was so bad off. The cratchit
family weren't the type to complain about there position in
life. They diddint have much, but what they did have was
appreciation.
Love you know?
Bob enters the house and slams the door behind him
"ohjeeezussssohmygod." "Dad!"
"Tim damit not right now!.....hey. aww we he buddy, im sorry its
been a he'll of a day. Come on over here and show me that thing
yarn got." Tim picks up a small dead plant with beer bottles and
old action figures on it hanging off the branches. "Its not a
thing.. its a christmas tree." "Sure. I knew that that's what I
meant." "See I found all this stuff out by the dumpster. I want
trying to make it look like those orni-ments you see in those
stores on fifth. I thought it would be cool to draw a superman
emblem on my army man cause he wasint very christmas and
superman is more like Santa.. you know, with the red and colors
and all. I also thought it'd be cool to draw a prototype
thingies on there to cuz Bobbie mills gas has prototype
decoration and its cool cause there not allowed to be sold in
stores and all and its on his tree and-"
"Now why the he'll would you want to put Alex Mercer on a
christmas tree? He's not exactly c hristmasy either. Hes all
scary looking dressed in black." "But he only hurts people who
done something bad." "I mean a guess... maybe things ain't
always in black and white. Sometimes good people do bad things.
Lotta love in the cratchit house. But not much else.
This scrooge guy on the other hand he had everything. Big house,
power. The place was dark and dingy and as empty as his heart
some people might say. He liked it that way. See ol' scrooge
wasint good with people he preferred solitude. He had spent his
his life completely obsessed with work. There wasint much time
for anything else. Other people seemed to be a nuisance.
"Oh what a surprise I find you sitting at a computer while the
world actually enjoys itself once in a while. Want some eggnog
to Warm you up to the idea of some christmas movies?" Scrooge
coughs up a lung. "Whoa can you even get sick? Cause I think you
are." "I'm not sick Dana. Its just the temperature change in the
house." "Ah yes I'm sure that's it after all its impossible for
you to get the sniffles." "Can I ask why your doing an NSA
impersonation on these two people?" "Small fish. But he's gonna
lead me to him. Hopefully." "And what's your plan? To let him
make a housecall?" "No he wouldint do that." "But he might send
someone to!" "Ill take the risk if it means to catch this guy.
There's more red light dana he has it." "No." "Exactly. I need
to let this play out." "He has a kid! If you let this "play out"
he'll turn out like his father!" "If it means catching him then
I have no problems with that. Leave him for one of the
crimefighters to look after him." Dana walks out " I know you to
well. And I know another person I lost because of a stupid
mistake. Ill bring down some cold medication for you."
Yup, work was all that mattered to scrooge. He anger, and loss
had consumed him to the point where human contact was near
impossible.
I say loss because his life hadn't always been like this. He
hadint always been alone.
Once he had been a different man, he had shared his passion of
work with a partner. He and his partner had made a good team. He
was a younger man though. Life seemed full of hope for the
future, hope for change. Anything seemed possible. Things that
would have seemed ridiculous to scrooge now were just roads yet
to be taken. But that was then and this was now. Now his partner
was long gone. Dead and buried just like scrooges youthful
optimism. That man was replaced by something harder, and darker.
Something unforgiving and unmerciful.
On this particular night though. Old scrooge had a visitor. Now,
some say this thing he saw was a spirit of some sort. Others say
it was a figment of imagination. Maybe even a little bit of his
conscience playing a trick on him.
He saw a man walk past him and out of the door, then he heared
three knocks. He continued to stare at the door and finally said
"who's there?" To know answer obviously.
I ain't one to belive in all that mumbo jumbo but what i think
what he saw in the dark loneliness of that night was a vision.
And the vision looked a hell of a lot like his dead partner. A
ghost from the past with a message from the future. And if
scrooge continued to live his life as an angry, vengeful and
spiteful man there would be a price. Every mans gotta pay up an
be counted for what he's done in life. The bad things you do
become heavy weights.
Scrooge had to change before it was to late.
the coughs continued throughout the halls.

I know, I know hang in there I told you there would be some
parts in here that would be hard to swallow. Take it how you
want, point is whatever scrooge saw it gave him a warning before
he disappeared, he would have three other visitors, Ghosts,
spirits ,visions whatever you wanna call 'em. Point is scrooge
diddint know who they were or what they would be...only that
apparently they would show him things that would Change his life
forever.
Scrooge meets with one of his business partners, a man dressed
in a funny looking outfit begins to speak. "I was gonna give you
another minute or two before heading home. So cold I can't even
pick up my phone." "Any new leads from the toxicology reports of
the latest victims?" "None that i haven't already explored, see
for yourself if you want l. Got something else that might
interest you though.. anonymous tip. A certain female scientist
is back in the city and is supposedly going right back to work
with genteck." Scrooge once again begins a coughing fit. "Can't
you and tha.stupid human bullseye handle that owlman? I- I have
to much on plate tonight without getting caught up with her. Or
have you forgotten there's still a maniac out there with a-" he
tries to continue but gets into another coughing fit. "That's
the thing, she claims to have information that might be useful
and she only talks to you, alright Jesus man do you want a Damn
Kleenex or something your getting on my suit." In between
coughing he manages to get out "waste of time." "You should
really see someone about that. That cough sounds deep." He jumps
off the roof into the night.
Scrooge thought about the "vision" he had the entire evening. He
couldint get it out of his head. He must have been crazy he
thought. It had all just been his imagination playing a trick on
him or something right? I mean you're alone in the dark the
slightest noise or flicker of a shadow across a wall can take
strange shapes. Entire conversations with yourself, discussions
you swear were in your head, can echo through the halls of an
empty house. Yes his mind had just been away from him for a bit.
The holidays, nostalgia, Humbug.
it would be a night like any other he thought to himself...
christmas eve or not.
nonetheless, rest did not come easy that night for the mean old
bugger. His mind drifted thoughts of the past. Unfinished
buisness.
The clock struck one.
and just like that, his first visitor of the night appeared at
his bedside. It was a beautiful girl, "how the hell did nobody
spot her on an empty rooftop?" He thought. A hot chick can get
away with anything...
"I could hear you breathing up there, getting tired or is it
just the frosty night air?" "What are you doing in the city
Karen? I told you to never come back, I'm not in the mood." "But
baby I'm placed on this earth to put you in the mood. Come on
the only reason I get out of bed in the morning is you." "What
the hell is wrong with you? Im not playing games with you, a
friend told me you had information on pariah. Where is he!" "Now
that's more like it. Truth is I know a lot about what he's doing
unfortunately, I dont like the fact young been thinking so much
about.. someone else." "Waste of time. Should have known, Omar
is a fool." "Wait! Aren't you gonna try and stop me from
running?" "If someone dies tonight I will blame it on you. And
you'll wish you had never come back." "listen to yourself! What
happened to you? There was a time nothing could have stopped you
from chasing me, you would have donr anything no matter what was
thrown at you. It used to be diffrent between us. That much is
obvious, but you used to be different." "It was never do fun.
Sick people like you-" "sick people like me! How dare you!" It
was then that scrooge learned how similar his old live was to
him, and how he wished she wasint. "You think I'm like those
other clowns who are only trying to kill you? Im so much more!"
She manages to hit scrooge in the face drawing blood. "Thats
it." Scrooge has the biggest coughing attack so far. "Wow maybe
you are tired, I diddint even mean to" "Karen the only thing
getting tired is this game." She dashes over the rooftops as he
follows.
There's something about this girl, something familiar. She
reminded him of the man he used to be. Sweeping him out into the
night, she showed him people and places he'd pushed out of his
mind long ago. It was like, smelling cotton candy or something.
Or remembering what it was like to ride the ferris wheel at the
fair when you were a kid. Remembering your heart pounding before
your first kiss. His early life seemed so full of vigor, full of
accomplishment and triumph! He bit into life with a hunger a new
to be the best man he could be. These memories, these feelings,
had he really been this person? Had he really approached life so
differently then? Had he been so different?
Karen jumps to a far building while scrooge misses the ledge and
falls down to the cold street below.
Young and naive maybe. Thats what the old geezer thought now.
Life isint really that colourful. Not so filled with infinite
possibilities he told himself. For scroogey life was black and
white. All buisness. There was success.
scrooge hits the ground hard.
and failure. And with that thought. The first visitor left
scrooge with his past.
To think good and hard about his present.

The night was still far from over though. See, scrooge was still
expecting teo other visitors. The second was big, larger then
life. Literally, he dressed colourful to, kinda ridiculous
scrooge thought. It was the eyes that were the most troubling,
to deep and kind for a man so big and powerful.
"Need a hand? Looks like you could use one." "Im-- fine. Up past
your bed time aren't you?" "From the look of you I'd say that
makes two of us." "Nasty cough you got there, heard you hacking
all the way from metropolis. Looks like somethings wrong with
your healing factor. Its growing less and less with time." "Heh-
I love the way you talk about that like you know what it means
to have it. You kryptonians get sick so often. Leave the medical
advice to the professionals. Isint there someone to save
somewhere in the world tonight?" "Yeah. You. C'mon dont be a
pain about this, just let me give you a lift to your apartment."
His hands were large and looked powerful. Like they could crush
scrooges frail body like a walnut shell. But there was something
familiar.. and odd warmth both from outside and within the giant
of the man.
"....one condition."
I've got a stop to make first.
Once again the old bugger flew into the night with what could
have been some sort of apparition and wondered if he was going
crazy. See, this was all still yo much like a dream, though then
why did the heat he felt emanating from the big, colourful
fellow seem so real?
"Why are we here?"
Scrooge had never believed in ghosts, spirits, or anything of
the like. He never considered himself much of a supersticious
guy.
"Im checking in on some bait. Wanted to see if-- the fish are
biting." "Isint it bad form do a hunter to use parents or
children as bait?" "Getting him comes at a price. Hes gonna help
me real in pariah he's connected, but really far down the pole."
No his feet were always planted firmly on the ground.
Superstition was a weakness, a weakness he could not afford.
Scrooges mind diddint want to belive any of this. He knew his
emotions couldint be trusted. Despite being a bit, shaken up by
the memory of his past, he diddint want to lose sight of the
man hed become. He fought hard to get where he was in life.
"If the father is involved he could go to prison, or worse. He
could" "and it would only decrease the surplus population."
"What are you going to do about the boy?" "Im going to scare
him, scare him so badly he doesent dare follow In his fathers
footsteps."
The present scrooge was not weak.
"I dont think that's the way to go."
But the colourful fellow wasint about to give up yet.
"There might be a better way. Come on I need to show you
something."
He knew there was still a chance for old scrooge to see
something he migjt have stopped looking for long ago. Scrooge
scoffed as it "better be something spectacular" he thought to
himslef.
"Sometimes I realize that spending so much time above the world
makes me forget that there are millions of people living their
lives. Decent lives. I look down and see" "you look down on
people." "Not in the same way you do. Look at your people. Take
a second and look as hard at your lambs as you do your lions.
Sometimes I think helping people. Saving people can be as easy
as showing them your face. The face of someone that looks
exactly like them." "-- show them your face is easy when a
bullet can bounce off it."
But the things the spirit showed him were so real.. down right
ordinary these weren't visions of the past, but flashes of the
present everyday life. Some of them even familiar.
"Hold up."
Scrooge looks through the frost covered window to see his sister
sitting with omar and his family. "Cant thank you enough for
having me over tonight. I appreciate the invitation." "No
problem Dana, can't have one of my friends alone on christmas
without a little "cheer" in their belly to keep them warm. "So
far so good on a quiet front thank god." "Yarn but I saw Alex on
patrol omar, still dont know what to make of him. I know you
trust him dana but." "Dick please." "No its okay omar, its not
an easy relationship to keep sometimes, but he means well."
"Besides dick. Think you can go one on one with darkened
tomorrow?" "Ya I guess he's a necessary evil." "Hes not evil
dick, he walks the fine line its just that sometimes. He steps
on the Side of the line where you or I would be hesitant to
tread. Play on the other side enough and you lose site of the
line, his vision becomes blurry sometimes. But dana and I, and
the others are the prescription he needs to see clearly."
scrooge proceeds to cough up his lung on the side of the
building.
"But what if he goes to far?" "Ya Bolt I think of that terror
constantly."
People that scrooge knew in his everyday life, his familiar
faces weren't so familiar behind closed doors.
"Take me to my apartment. I need to think."
He always considered himself to be a pillar of his community. An
important man who people respected. It seemed that others
diddint necessarily share that same opinion. Some still had
faith though. Along with the time honored smile of folks who
have the amazing ability to look on the bright side of things.
Scrooge on the other hand wondered how they always Somme to fill
a glass that was constantly empty. How did they manage to keep
the faith? The universal hope for change, and change for the
better. It had been a long time since scrooge had felt that kind
of hope.
He had pretty much resigned himself on the fact that life is a
never ending battle. The darkness of the world had forced him to
the shadows. And the only way to combat monsters was to become
one himself.
But the second spirit diddint seem to feel the same. He seemed
to be a source of infinite hope... he radiated it with every
movement and word. This attitude was so foreign to scrooge it
made him suspicious.
"Yep you defiantly need to see someone. To bad they dont make
armor for inside your body.
See its like this. If you spend all your time in the dark. You
get used to the filth. Even start to get comfortable in it. Then
you weak up one day and wonder why everyone thinks your dirty.
"Just lots of fluids and rest and maybe it will fix itself. But
you shouldn't." "I got autopilot." "Good night Alex. Feel
better."
And just like that, the big fella was gone.
He walks into his house but before he enters he feels a pain in
his chest. He looks down and sees a clawed hand sticking out of
it.
Things went dark and quiet, scrooge diddint know if he was awake
or sleeping. If he was still dreaming. The old geezer would wake
up to a brand new day. Then he remembered the night wasint over
yet. There would be three visitors.
Three.

You ever had that dream where you're falling and it really feels
like your falling. And when you wake yourself up, you can still
feel the gravity pullin you down? Ever wonder what happens if
you can't wake yourself? Is the dream tellin you you're dying
for real? See I gotta theory about this "third visitor." The old
man painted the guy out to be the scariest thing you ever laid
eyes on. Black coat, face always covered in shadow blah, blah,
blah..
now, pop loved to take a bit of creative licence with things. He
had what ma liked to call "subjective" relationship with the
truth. He also loved to talk. Hell he talked so much that all of
the characters in his stories blabbered on almost as long as he
did.
The spirit dragged scrooge into the cemetery.
call me cautious, but if it was me, and some evil looking cat
shows up outta nowhere points his finger at a creepy cemetary
and I followed him I'd hafta be off my meds.
The spirit digs up a grave for scrooge and points at it as more
hands pick him up to place him in.
that's when I realized there was no third visitor. Some people
start hallucinating when they're about to die. In my book, if
you're chasing beautiful women across rooftops and flying around
with big colorful men that glow, somethings wrong in Denmark.
Were talkin about a guy with some serious anger issues. Even the
heartless can have a heart attack, right? Something not someone
came knocking that night. Old scroogey was falling in a dream.
And he wasint waking up.
I think everybody wants to belive that they'll be remembered
after they check out. I also think that everybody likes to
belive life can't go on without them, by that just ain't the
truth. No way to stop the future. You're to young to think about
this now but trust me, most men want to make the world a better
place then how they found it. They want to feel like they made a
difference, been somebody. Everybody wants to be a Cadillac.
Nobody wants to be the old junker. All scrooges life he had
thought he was a caddy great painting, powerful engine, smooth
ride. I think when it was all said and done, when it came down
to the zero hour. Old scroogey knew he'd be rembered as the old
junker, the one that would break down on you all the time.
People dont remember that car when it was brand spanking new,
thwy just remembered having to jumpstart it every day. Leaving
you stranded or hurt. He'd been the type of man people feared,
feared that he'd "break down" on them again. I think those
clammy hands pushed down on scrooges chest, he thought about
about the future for the first time and realized. The only
legacy he'd leave was pain. Anyone who had tried to get close to
him was punished for it. Why should they care if he'd bit the
dust? Why would it make any difference at all when thet made no
difference to him in the end? No friends left to care that he
was gone. No one to miss jim or mourn him.
They say your born alone and that you die alone. Even if that's
true, would you want it to be? If you had the chance to change
would you fight for it?
In new York cemetary a gravestone reads
"Here lies Alex. J. Mercer he died an evil man and alone and
nobody loved him."
Sometimes it takes dying, to teach a fella how to live.
a fist pops out of the grave as the clock strikes seven.
In scrooges case, it took a real doozie of a night to make him
realize this. You can call it a new death experience, I call it
a wake up call. His clock was ticken and if he was gonna get the
message he would need to listen quick.
A knock is heard on the door of the cratchet house, Tim runs to
it "santa is that you?"
see, with some guys all you need is a whisper in their ear. And
for the other guys, and scrooge was definatly one of the other
guys. They need to be hit upside the head with a baseball bat.
A blonde woman with her face and clothes slightly stained with
red enters the door and she says "ho ho ho"
That night scrooge got it and got it good.
the blonde woman says "I know I know you were expecting the big
guy in red. If its all the same though i have a bag of presents
too. What do you say big guy? Wanna know what i got you and your
old man?" As the woman goes on about the toys she has bob hides
with a bat whispering to himself. "I can't, I cant, o Christ oh
no." "Lets see what about clue? I love this game! Colonel
mustard and the like, well do you wanna play?" "Daddy?" "Ya get
your old man out here he should play too. I bet he knows all
about mysteries.
it wasint just a new perspective on things.
"C'mon out bob, this game sucks with only two people maybe ill
give the kid the lead pipe and he can be Mrs. Scarlett!"
it was a second chance, a chance to make things right. To be the
good guy for once.
Bob runs at the woman holding a baseball bat. "Dont you touch my
son!" He smacks her with the bat. "That hurt my feelings, now
come on bobby there's no baseball bat in clue play fair!" She
picks him up and throwshim across the room.
When my old man told me the story he said that scrooge finally
grew a conscience. He diddint want the people around him to
suffer from the mistakes he made, I like to think that there
were larger forces at work though.
The woman forms a blade and puts it to bobs throat "question who
killed bob!" "Puh...please I panicked proto.. prototype was
there." "Yes you idiot that's the whole point! I win! I killed
bob in the kitchen with the blade!"
I belive a man can change. But change Is a powerful thing, such
a big idea that I gotta belive there's more to it than just
making a choice. Outside forces have to come into play.
Alex kicks through the window and grabs Karen and throws her
into the wall.
See it wasint the idea of dying, it was the hope he could have a
better death. Its about going for the leap knowing there's a
chanceyou can fail but doing it anyway. Because after a lifetime
of bullying and hurting others, making people afraid of him ol
scrooge had the chance to make sure that when he finally did
check out, when all is said and done. People would remember that
he had the chance to die the villain. But went out a hero.
Alex finally restrains karen while bob puts arevolver to her
head. "You wanna threaten me? You wanna threatan my son! Now who
wants to play games!" "Bob stop! Your not a criminal show your
son the kind of man you are!" Bob puts the gun down "but why?"
"To draw Alex out of course." "Why are you like this! You were
disgusted with what I was!" "Uh uh uh spoilers. I have something
to say though. Be ready." And with that the woman disssapered
into the night.
The kinda man they could respect without fear.someone they could
belive in. Trouble is realizing this stuff is only the first
step if you wanna walk the walk.
well you know how the rest of this goes. Old s croogey was luck
to wake up the next morning and he knew it. He felt like he'd
gotten out of the joint after a long stint. A free man.there
were people to see things to do. Promises to be made and kept.
And like an ex con he wanted to do it all in one day. The first
person on his list was bob, he figured it only right after all
he treated the poor guy like dirt. Today though he figured it
was high time to pay him back. A raise, benefits, 401 (k) the
works. Scrooge made the rounds that day. Old friends, buisness
associates. Anyone whose life he'd made miserable. He wanted to
show em that he was a guy who people could depend on. Most of em
were shocked this new scrooge they were seeing. Like I told you
at the beginning Change ain't easy to swallow. But its easier
then three ghosts.
The old man said he liked the story so much because it had a
happy ending. He said in real life happy endings aren't all
unicorns. I asked him if he believed if it was
true. And he told me that it diddint matter if it was true. As
long as it had a nice moral or was nice. I dont know Timmy.
What's the moral of this story?
