A new Government for New Republica
By: Cafla Date: July 15, 2013, 8:51 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
I would like a government restart. A new governmental system
that will be voted on by all active nations in a poll on the
forum. Once the government is established I would like a
constitution set up and then we shall continue on and evolve as
a region. Do I have your support?

I think that would be a good idea and now your idea is publicly
supported by the President. I hear you are writing a rough draft
for the new constitution. I would be happy to help or co-author
it if you would allow me to.

Im not a good writer and place the privilege of writing the
constitution on anyone else who would like to do it.

Actually it is I that is working on a new constitution. But I
second Cafla's motion on a government retraction. We need to
clear the slate and decide on whether or not a republic works
       for us or not.

I say a new more communal government. Our population has
declined so far to the extent that there are as many government
       members as active nations.
What we should have is the complete abolition of all government
positions. Whenever an issue is brought up, everyone votes on it
and the Delegate does whatever necessary to implement the
       decision.

I agree that this should happen, but we would NEVER get the
power hungry people in some positions to give up their power.

I think one person who seems to enjoy holding positions of power
is URA. Although I do support him, its quite obvious he likes to
be in power but im sure if it comes down to it we could persuade
him to step down. He seems to be a reasonable and intelligent
       person.
Also Beta, I think this is a good idea as an interim until we
get the population of outspoken participating members back up.
In the mean time Dantooine, I would be willing to hold the
Senate seat. Perhaps we could get this Communal Government idea
through the Senate and that would set things in motion to call
upon the government to dissolve itself and for officials to step
down. I am also glad to hear you are writing the constitution.
I dont know though, there seems to be a lot of options on the
table. What do you guys think?
P.S. Dantooine, I do consider Anean to be an online friend. He
is trying to uphold the constitution when it is obvious it is
being breached and he is not belligerently leading the region. I
mean its only been a couple weeks at most. So cut him some slack
with the RMB comments, if you dont mind.

I would disagree greatly with concentrating power in the hands
of a very few. Absolute power corrupts, absolutely. Thus, I
believe this Republic system works. We should, instead of
throwing the baby out with the bath, attempt to make our current
       system more efficient.
       This can be done with;
       *Increasing the number of senators.
       *Increasing nation interaction.
*the Creation of a Ministry of Recruitment - with a Secretary
appointed by the President, and confirmed by the senate.
----*The Staff of this ministry is employed at the discretion of
       the Secretary.
       *New Membership Guidelines and FAQs

I believe we should start of on a clean slate with a DIRECT
       democracy.
