CA Military Development

With the recent importing of uranium, the Carolina Alliance is
ready to research, construct, and test it's own nuclear weapons.
This is only known by the government and a few selected
scientists.
Scientists are currently working on a 10 megaton warhead. There
are also plans for a 20, 35, 50, and possibly even 100 megaton
warheads. They will all be two stage thermonuclear warheads.
Along with these new weapons, the CA is also revamping it's
defense system, by upgrading anti-ballistic and ground-to-air
missiles with more accurate navigation systems, better
detonation systems to reduce the possibility of a dud warhead,
and more powerful warheads to ensure the opposing missile/plane
is properly destroyed. The second phase of the defense system
revamp is to create a safe way to defend the nation from all
nuclear attacks. Top scientists are currently meeting with the
congress to discuss nuclear defense plans.

Carolinian scientists have developed a 3.5 megaton warhead. They
attached it to an ICBM and launched it towards the mountains of
Siberia where it will detonate. 5 long range aircraft have
already made their way to an area just outside of the effect
radius and will report back on the test.

Test Site
The men stationed at the test site took notes and reported back
to SCCASA. The detonation itself was successful but the warhead
detonated earlier than it was designed to, so the computer and
detonation system will have to be tweaked. The troops refueled
and loaded up into their aircraft to return home.
Executive Building
President Denyey received the message from Sparta and agreed to
allow a diplomatic visit to "create a set of rules and
regulations for the usage of nuclear weapons in order to promote
peace in the NCSA."
After tweaking the systems in the warhead and ICBM to correct
the detonation altitude, a second test is being prepared that
will detonate not far from the original test site. Rather than
sending personnel to the location, the government will be
borrowing a Carolinian TV satellite that was given a camera
attachment for nuclear testing. TV service will, however,
continue as normal.

After tweaking of the systems, a new missile has been launched
with a non-nuclear "test warhead" as this is not a test of the
bomb itself. The missile will also send a signal once the
warhead explodes as it is not large enough to destroy the
missile, thus getting rid of the need for any spectators.

The non-nuclear test missile sent a signal as soon as it
detonated, giving information on the altitude. The Test was
successful, and the same type of nuclear missile, now named the
McCormic Class missile, will be produced after a secret
underground factory and storage facility is made. The scientists
working on the project have been instructed to work on a new
anti-missile system, with a nuclear submarine being next on the
list. Due to the blockade, uranium supplies are running low, so
the government is looking for a new supply.

With some of the last supplies of uranium, scientists created a
400 kiloton thermonuclear warhead, 12 of which can be fit on
another new military design, the new Rontley Class SLBM. A
testing crew is currently being sent to the remote reaches of
the Sahara Desert to conduct an underground test for the
warhead. Meanwhile, naval scientists are devolving a new
ballistic missile submarine, the Charlotte Class submarine. It
is planned to be powered by a nuclear reactor, but the
government is unsure whether or not it has enough uranium.
