Spartan Nuclear Ambitions

Emperor Wilhelm I recently announced to the world the start of
Sparta's nuclear weapons program. They have begun testing of
nuclear fission and have begun looking into building a nuclear
reactor. He smiled as he announced the overall goal of this
researching is to build Sparta's first nuclear bomb to propel
Sparta into the nuclear age!

This is something that would indeed be useful to look into for
all players having a set time frame for things to happen.
i would say irl 5 days for anything nuclear.
Sparta as you always plan nuclear would to be nice to see you on
a committee which could discuss proper wait times for
advancements. I think your input would be needed.

I think it would be a better idea to have an IC committee on
nuclear weapons seeing that several new nuclear projects are
ongoing, along with the outcry against my nuclear testing
(Ironically coming from the largest nuclear power in the world).

Okay. So, I did some research. The Manhatten Project took around
4 years to fully complete, from 1942 to 1946. It produced a 15
kt Fission weapon. Now, this was the FIRST nuclear bomb ever
made. So there was some issues. As Sparta probably would be
looking at nuclear reactors, he would know vaguely about nuclear
fission. This may help. So his project would probably take 3-5
years to produce a 20 kt fission weapon. Thermonuclear? Much
longer, as that is fusion. So, if we use elections every two
months (equals four years) that means it would take around 1 and
a half months. But that's not right. So, about 1-2 weeks. Then 2
more weeks for fusion.
