I was going to pull out if the new peeps jumped in, but its a
lot of the old blood so I decided to stay in. Why do we need to
shuffle the Speaker anyway?

Well, its not like we have one continuous session of Congress.
We have multiple with breaks in between, usually coinciding with
Presidential elections. As such we vote every time there is a
new session of Congress for who we want as our presiding
officer.

Maybe we should pass a voting resolution that you cannot
nominate yourself. That would be better.
