"As it says that the federal government is responsible for
protecting the institution of slavery, how could that be
interpreted? Would states be forced to trade with states that
own slaves? Would we not be allowed to take a moral stance on
       the issue and oppose it?"

any state that supports this bill, will be completely cut off.
We will not trade with them at all, and encourage other states
       to do the same."

"No and the Rep from DEN is a perfect example. If you disagree
with us then cut off trade, that simple. The federal
government's job would be to make sure that the state's rights
to slaves aren't infringed upon. So you are allowed to make a
moral stand against it. In fact many Senators in Columbia
believe that if the entire nation was Columbia, we'd outlaw
abortion, something completely uncivil, barbaric, and immoral.
But we believe in your state's right to keep that action
       around."

I think this bill is unnecessary and a provocation.
Just have your slaves. There's no need to protect that right
through congress. You are anyways, as you say, sovereign.

OOC: As the Speaker is myself I will not move to table or second
any bill, but I will express an opinion.
"The Assembly will need to come to a vote eve-eventually." The
feeble man looked better this morning, however little that said
about him, he was still pale and frail but slightly less so
today. "Congress needs to discuss this more."

Either way, a majority in congress will be needed. That means,
if you don't get a majority for this, you also won't get one
when they try to take it from you. And if you do get the
majority now, they wouldn't get one.
I'm not sure if I explained that well...

No you explained it perfectly fine.
"As for you Mr. Speaker, I wouldn't berate y'all if y'all
weren't always trying to infringe upon our rights and on our
property. Let us be who we want to be and stop trying to force
us to move to Cuba or some other radical change. Socialism is on
       its way out sir anyways."

"What freedoms and rights do these 'slaves' retain my Right
Honorable Friend? Are they entitled to all rights listed in the
Constitution? Are they entitled to Free Speech, Religion, Press,
Assemble, Petition to Bear and Keep Arms. My Right Honorable
Friend, more or less, the description the Representative gives
much more resembles an indentured servant rather a slave."
