Abortion/ Polygamy Standard
By: Sparta Date: August 24, 2015, 9:53 am
---------------------------------------------------------
King Spartacus recently announced a new law called the Abortion
Standard. The law makes abortion illegal except in rare cases
and has severe repercussions. The rare cases are, r**e or in the
case that the baby is harming the mother's health. The
repercussions range from the minimum of 20 years in prison for
1st degree murder to the death penalty in the most severe cases.
Polls show that 80% of Spartans approve of this law while 20%
disapprove. King Spartacus also has outlawed polygamy and it is
punishable by the minimum of 5 years in jail to 10 years in
jail.
More to come.

We applaud Sparta's step in the right direction to begin to
outlaw the evil act of abortion.

DEN is against the first part of this law and condemns the state
of Sparta for such harsh punishments for such stupid things. It
is the right of a person to chose what they do with their body,
not the government.

The United Socialist Peoples of Cor'Therma
formally make a public statement,
"The recent law according abortion of Sparta is far too cruel
of a punishment. We humbly ask Sparta to reevaluate the
punishment of this law. To the Cor'Thermans we believe this law
is profoundly passed solely due to religious reasons and has a
cruel and unusual scale of punishment. Many Cor'Thermans are
concerned about religions being entangled with politics. They
believe it may disrupt the personal freedoms of the people. If
this law is not religious in nature then the punishment is a
reason alone for anger. Twenty years is more then 20% of
someone's life. The crime does not fit the punishment in the
eyes of the Cor'Therman people.

OOC: I'll take that stance as well.
His Excellency concurs with the expressed opinion
of the people of Cor'Therma. We ask Sparta to reconsider the
judgment of the law.

The United Socialist Peoples of Cor'Therma hears
Colombia's response and replies,
"Is it ironic the country with half the population being slaves
is calling the free people of Cor'Therma Immoral? Your recent
political positions have caused anger with our populace. We
would advise you to free the slaves and give them worker rights.
The Sozialistischen Pakt would advise you to give your people
worker rights. The Cor'Thermans are disgusted by the abhorred
conditions of the average working person... or slave in your
case."

"Please justify the killing of unborn children. We may have
slaves but we don't kill them and those who are killed, well we
honor them and we put the murderer in prison for a very long
time. Maybe the mother's who choose to abort a baby should be
thrown away in prison for being a murderer of their own kin."

The United Socialist Peoples of Cor'Therma hears
Colombia's response and replies,
"Regardless your stance on slavery alone shows that you have
little care for the working families. What usually follows is no
wage, how are slaves supposed to pay for their children? If
theirs no contraception then they cannot afford a child. If a
accident happens that are forced into debt and the family is
economically shackled. The same thing could happen in a normal
poor family. If that's the case they cant pay their medical
birth debts or food debts of paying for another child. Now
they're put into slavery under your doctrine for slavery. You
have a vicious system that will put poor and working families
into slavery.
I think you should reevaluate your system and the stance on
abortion. Or provide contraception if you do not."
