Because their union wants the tram workers to have more money.
But believe me tram drivers get paid alot and have great
benefits. Train drivers also striked and may again.

and maybe they can't risk being unemployed for the time it takes
to find a better paying job, a problem in the US is that Union
is a dirty word at this point, and that's how you get a gilded
age gap between the rich and the poor, in America
