As the Reich arrived in Georgetown Preston greeted them. "Hallo,
Herr. How goes it?" He walked up to limping on his cane.
"Welcome to my Plantation, I hope we can begin to get the talks
working. We can't wait to have normalized relations or at least
peace. Mr. Kenny, please bring us some coffee."
"Yes-yes, sir." Kenny stuttered and walked away.
"Follow me now, into my office."

King Spartacus demands that Amerikanischs Reich immediately
pulls out of their allies homeland or Sparta shall declare war.
       In Secret
Three Spartan attack carrier squadrons and two transport
squadrons carrying a total of about 7,000 soldiers is heading
towards the Panamanian Canal. The Spartan fleet that was
attacking West Phoenicia takes its soldiers and heads for
       Columbia to assist their allies.

((OOC @ Sparta: The Reich is in Hightah which is now no longer a
State. It advanced to the Columbian border, briefly crossed,
then withdrew and consolidated its Hightah position.))
As Reichsmarschall Kirkland stepped out of his car, he exchanged
glances with his driver and motioned him to come along -- he
would chance the possible faux pas -- and the young secretary,
who carried a writing case and a satchel of documents, and
       naturally followed.
Kirkland stepped forward with a smart salute -- not the Roman
salute of the Reich, but, in deference to his host, in the
conventional American manner -- and extended his hand.
"It is my deepest honor to make your acquaintance, Governor
Preston. I have the privilege to be Reichsmarschall Wilhelm
Kirkland von die Freien Flächen des Amerikanisches Reiches. At
your service. And I appreciate your courtesy but, all that being
said and done, we can address each other in English as you
       please."
Kirkland's stern mien persisted, but an astute observer would
note it seemed to be more or less a permanent expression, and
that he came as close to smiling as was likely.
If permitted, the three followed the governor into his mansion.
((OOC: Pardon if it's "president" and not "governor" :) .))

       Governor over President.))
"I started building on these 5,000 acres when I was 29, boy how
time sure does pass. 81 now, goin on 82 next month." He laughed.
"So we're here to make a deal. I assume the common goal is
peace, and I'll do anything to get that." Kenny walked in a gave
all the men coffee. "Thank you sir."
       "No problem, master, sir."
"Where were we, oh yes, you see I wanna know what you
specfically want." Preston said lighting up a cigar.

Reichsmarschall Kirkland looked around with an inscrutable
expression, as usual, though anyone accustomed to his subtleties
would note that he seemed impressed as he surveyed the fields.
"And I'm sure the produce is admirable. My own ancestor was,
believe it or not, a general of the First Confederacy from North
Carolina, who fought at First Manassas, in the Shenandoah
campaign, and attained his highest rank at Gettysburg: William
Whedbee Kirkland, for whom I was named. So, we are not so far
removed as you might think, despite my also Germanic ancestry,
from the Prussian side of my family."
Kirkland took a coffee with a gracious nod, and sipped it
       decorously.
"And yes, of course, our goal is peace ... peace, and Hightah,
though the latter is up to the discretion of the central
government. Of your own territory, despite ... ;" Here Kirkland
cleared his throat and had the decency to look aside, his
emotions for once plain, as he was slightly abashed; "... the
overwhelming force of arms that the Reich could bring to bear,
begging your humble pardon, we would claim none.
"None the less, you must understand, the Reichsführer-General
and Reichsführerin-SS demand that I obtain an unconditional
surrender, for precisely that reason. I have negotiated most
carefully with them, with your interests and the desirability of
peace in mind, and am willing to present you with terms, but
...;" he sighed; "... most lamentably, I am not precisely
sanctioned to negotiate. You -- and I am honestly sorry for this
-- must either accept or reject. Rejection ..."
Kirkland left the rest unspoken, as he motioned his secretary to
bring forth the writing kit and prepared papers.

"Im Namen des Reichsführers und Volk auf das Amerikanisches
       Reich
       Duly Approved in the Reichstag
We hereby affirm and approve this Treaty between the Reich and

       1) No further military action shall be taken between the Reich
       and Columbia Confederates, in perpetuity.

Territory of Hightah, which is justly claimed, by right of
conquest and necessity, by the Reich.
       3) Reich and Columbian armed forces shall be granted free
conduct and transit, though not free action, in the respective
territories and airspace, that is, the territories and airspace
of Columbia and the Reich, mutually.
       4) The State of the Columbia Confederates shall never in
perpetuity exercise any claim nor attempt any dominance or
governance over the territory, or former territory, of Hightah.
       5) Betwixt the Amerikanisches Reich and the State of the
Columbia Confederates there shall be no excise taxes, duties, or
protective tariffs with regard to trade.
       6) Betwixt the Amerikanisches Reich and the State of Columbia,
at the mutual expense of both, there shall be constructed a rail
network to facilitate trade, which shall adequately serve all
       commercial and state interests.

Preston read and smiled he wrote his name down. "Excellent, I
assume the railroad would be built near one of our river port's
of course. Glad doin' you want to stay around for some supper?"

The Reichsmarschall laughed goodnaturedly. "Well, I would say I
must decline, but since you did make this much easier than I'd
expected, I can't decline. I hope it is alright if my driver and
       secretary ...
"Ah, so rude of me." He gestured to the companions he'd
mentioned in respective turn. "May I introduce Oberleutnant
Heinz Kirchner, and staboffizier Emily Schwarz."
The two gave smart Roman salutes, apparently not taking their
marschall's cue very well, but otherwise smiled and appeared
       sincere in making their obeisance.
Kirkland resumed: "As I was saying, I hope you wouldn't mind if
they joined us. I would be entirely remiss and quite
discourteous to deny two faithful soldaten, who have endured the
trials of combat with me, any comfort that I would accept
       myself."
He followed quickly and rather dismissively, with a tiny wave of
his hand, with another deep laugh. "Oh and of course the rail
terminals can be wherever you wish; we wouldn't want them to be
anything less than optimal for trade; that would quite defeat
       the purpose, yes?"

"Of course they can join, and we can talk about the rails at a
future date." He got up with his cane and shouted out to the
kitchen slaves. "Ma'ams would you make us some nice Jambalaya
and biscuts and uhm honey. And take out the Bourbon to! Time to
       celebrate!"
