Air Fortuna Flight 83

"Enduranca Center, Fortune 83 checking in."
"Copy Fortune 83, I have you heading two-seven-zero at 33
thousand," the ATC replied, setting aside his drink as he found
his new flight on the radar. A quick glance at a flight sheet
told him the facts: a Boeing 777-2, heading to Landfall.
"Ah, Center, Fortune 83, can we get a deviation due to some
turbulence?" the flight asked.
"Copy Fortune 83, I can do that, turn right heading 2-8-5."
"Copy, 285, Fortu-"
The controller threw his headset off at the sound of a sharp
squeal of static. "Spirits!" he hissed. "Fortune 83, say again?"
No response.
"Fortune 83, this is Enduranca Center, do you copy, over?"
No response.
Dread growing in his chest, the controller checked his radar.
Air Fortuna's blip was gone.

BREAKING NEWS: PLANE CRASH IN ENDURANCA
"We are here two miles north of the town of Rainier, where it
has been confirmed that an Air Fortuna 777 has crashed. The
airplane was carrying 257 passengers and crew, and hopes for
survivors are slim. Eyewitness accounts seem to indicate that
the plane broke apart in mid air- a bomb has not been ruled
out."
OOC: yup. Issue in NationStates I turn into an incident. You
know the drill, want to claim responsibility? Go for it.

Enduranca's Transportation Safety Agency has concluded that an
onboard explosion was responsible for the downing of the 777
jetliner. Evidence now points to a suitcase bomb detonating,
causing a loss of control and subsequent breakup of the
aircraft.

A rogue organization in Sparta, Al-Nippan, claims
responsibility. The spokesperson, Bradley Ramses, says, "We will
continue strikes against the enemies of Al-Nippan. Death to our
enemies!"

Enduranca will continue the investigation on its own, but urges
Sparta to investigate the organization that has claimed
responsibility.
OOC: If other countries wish to have passengers/citizens on this
flight, they may say so until capacity is reached. The aircraft
was carrying 257 passengers and crew from Sparta City (or
Honolulu if those were different) to Landfall; at the moment, I
will say at least 100 passengers and all 15 crewmembers were
Endurancan.

Sparta has found proof that this organization indeed did do it
and the police is on high alert arresting any members but they
cannot find most of them.

The Frijstaat government sends its heartfelt condolences to the
victims of this senseless act of violence. Unconfirmed reports
suggest that two Frijstaater tourists are among the presumed
dead.

The aircraft broke up and crashed over land; there is no chance
of survivors. All that can be done now is try to identify the
remains of the passengers.
All crewmembers' remains have been identified, and background
checks reveal none had inside knowledge of the attack- as a
precaution, Air Fortuna is suspending flights to Sparta.
Flight 83 has also been officially retired in memory of those
lost.
