"Coal is our top resource and export, followed by Arms. Other
high exports include beef, crops, automobiles, and alcohol. Our
professional military is around 700,000 strong. The citizen army
is much larger, around 1.5 million, though most are not combat
troops."

"I think, although we are a peaceful State with no desire of
expansion and conflict, that a military alliance could prove
useful. Arms manufactory is a very large industry that is
proving popular among my people, with that in mind and the
formation of New Armed Forces to better serve the needs of the
Confederacy. However the NCSA is struggling to make a National
Army (although I don't remember where in the forums its out
there) and I would ask you to see to the needs of the NCSA Armed
Forces. I digress however, I think a full cooperation alliance
between us would prove useful. I have also talked to the
American Reich about such a deal, however I have little to no
conformation about it as of yet."

Sharpe could barely contain his excitement at the opportunity.
Appalachian made weapons could be used defending the
Confederacy. "As long as Appalachia stands, your excellency, no
NCSA soldier will ever be outgunned. I will work with our
industry reps to make a comprehensive presentation for the NCSA
army. As for the military alliance between us, I believe it is
the prudent thing to do. Any attack from the west will
invariably have to pass through us, and we have no real navy. I
and my people would certainly support a mutual defense pact."
