OOC: Creation of a NCSA Sports Association

I've been thinking about this for some days now and I would like
to present you my idea for a NCSA Sports Association (or
committee or whatever you'd like to call it).
I'm just posting this as an idea. I definitely want feedback
about changes you would make, or if this should just be dropped.
So here's the basic idea:
Every nation that wishes to participate in a sport would
register a team, and this association would organize tournaments
and simulate the scores and match reports.
TEAMS:
Every nation would get the possibility to register one team.
This would happen on a thread for team registration for the
sport in question. The registration would contain the name of
the team, the roster (if we decide to do this detailed with
match reports, players stats, etc.), stadium name and any
special attributes that should be considered.
Additionally a "real-life team" would be mentioned, on which the
simulation should be based.
E.g. If your state spends a lot of money on the sports sector
and you wish to have a strong team you would say that the
simulation should give your team a strength similar to (e.g. for
soccer) "Barcelona" (or for american football) "New England
Patriots".
If your state is just starting to fund sports and is still in a
developing process, you'd write e.g. "Stoke City" or "Oakland
Raiders" (no offense to any team)
Questions: Should they be "club" teams (resulting in "Champions
League" like competitions) or "national" teams (resulting in
"World Cup" like competitions)?
COMPETITIONS:
Based on the registered teams, every month there'd be a
competition for each sport that has active teams. I thought that
one month is long enough for tension to build up and having a
nice, realistic competition, and short enough for new NCSA
nations to register their teams and then be able to participate
in the next edition of the competition on the first of the
following month.
Questions: Should the competitions be organized as a league, a
knock-out competition, or as a league with playoffs?
Also, what sports would you like?
SIMULATIONS:
The member in charge of NCSA Sports Association would simulate
game scores and match reports for all the matches of the
competitions. He would obviously have to be unbiased. (If you
don't mind, I could fill this position quite perfectly as I have
match simulating software and Diddyland has no foreign relation
problems with any nations. I would be 100% unbiased.)
So, I'd appreciate as much feedback as possible to see if this
"project" makes sense, or if this is not really something that
the NCSA needs or wants. Also, what changes would you like?

I'm for this, however I have no knowledge of sports, I think no
one responded because of coincidence. Many people have
previously talked about this, so I would think their would be an
interest in it.

No need for sports knowledge.
You would just have to tell me how strong you want your team to
be (realistically, of course, in accordance to how much your
state funds/promotes sports).
The Sports Association would take charge to simulate your team's
games and generate match reports

The Libreated antihoser citizens have expressed an interest in
competative sports on the international level. Sports are
popular here, especially ice hockey. If you consider martial
arts to be sports, my people also very much enjoy that, mostly
as a byproduct of their national and cultural origins.
Bodybuilding is also a popular pastime here, for similar
reasons... The New Jersey influence and the war of independence
have oriented people towards fitness as well as studying the
theory and techniques of combat.

Maximillan Dogg wishes to advise to support this Association.
We will help fund this Association.
West Phoenicians are sports mad. We would have a strong baseball
and basketball teams. Our football is not the strongest. We are
also good at Fencing and Equestrian.

Very glad to hear it! (This thread is OOC by the way)
For now I can only offer to simulate the main team sports
though. (Soccer, football, basketball, baseball, hockey)

I could open registration threads for all those sports then.
The question still remains, though, if it should be a league
competition, knock-out competition, or a league with playoffs?
Also, clubs or national teams?
