DEN Research, Development, and Internal Affairs

((I don't know why. I just don't feel right when I use the words
'In Secret'. I just feel... Like I'm trying to get away with
something really stupid. Mostly, I think I just feel like I
actually have to REMIND you guys which is secret. I don't think
we're this stupid :/))
The Namenian Government has recently announced a massive
infrastructure project on the entire nation, designed to help
sustain the current population until they can expand to more
lands around them. This infrastructure project includes a high
speed internet connection that will expand to all parts of the
country, through massive high speed fiber optic cables that were
specifically designed for DEN. These high speed fiber optic
cables have some server stations that will boost the signal
every so often, and will be under the roads. In addition, a
large highway system is under construction that will connect all
cities quickly, efficiently, and without fail.
This highway system will include the fiber optic cables that run
underneath the roads, as well as a heating system for the roads.
The heating system is designed to remove the threat of ice or
snow from the roads, as well as make it clear from the air. In
addition, the highway system, and all roads, will feature
wireless hotspots that connect to the fiber optic cables
directly, allowing for internet on the go without fail. These
options can be deactivated in case of threat, however, and can
even be deactivated in sections.
Another development is the construction of a massed railway. New
train rails will be established throughout the nation, with the
focus being maglev trains for safety and speedy transitions.
These trains are needed, as the rails currently would be iced
over. Each city, as well as several hubs in the countryside,
will be connected by rail, and a massive freight rail system is
to be constructed from the ports, airports, and resources.
Another massive project is what is called the 'Sky Farms of
DEN', which are specialized skyscrapers that are built to house
massive vertical farms. These will be designed and built for
efficiency, and are expected to help create a self sufficient
nation in no time. In addition to these designs, a hub of
efficient, clean energy is to be developed. Geothermal, wind,
solar, and hydroelectric power is being developed, with the
current prototypes being tested. These will help to supply a
massive amount of power for the nation, if they can. Currently,
a clear solar panel that can be seen through just like a window
has been developed, and will hopefully be installed on
buildings.
In the economic department, using the same solar panels that
were clear, smartphones now include their own charging. Simply
leaving the item in the sun will charge the phone, but not
completely. These smartphones, tablets, and laptops will be sold
on the market for lower prices, and are expected to outperform
other items of the same caliber.
Currently, the idea of Quantom computing is being researched
into, as while the country is already famed for it's
supercomputers of incredible power, faster and more efficient
computers are desired.

Namenian researchers, using information gleaned from scientists
around the world, have begun the research of nuclear power,
engineering, and weaponry. Currently, they were designing and
conducting ways of enriching uranium for the production of
nuclear power plants, as well as weaponry. They are currently
stockpiling uranium and are using depleted uranium in the
production of non nuclear weaponry, such as armor piercing
rounds like the APFSDS.
Large, conventionally fueled, high power generators and power
plants were being installed in major fortresses to help power
them, until such a time as the nuclear powerplants could be
produced. These would be hidden in strongholds of their own, and
defended from attack if possible.

DEN Sky Farms are now looming over the landscape, dominating
what seems to be most of the prairies and plains. The massive
farms and other projects were well nearing completion, and new
leaps in quantom computing has allowed for the first quantom
computer to be created.
In Secret
The first completely self sustained nuclear reaction in a
reactor has been accomplished, and is slowly being researched
into weapons application. All armor piercing rounds are now DU,
and some have a DU with Tungsten coating on them. The fortresses
which were commissioned have finally been built, and the
advanced nuclear reactors that were created by the scientists
have been installed in the plants to power them. Massive missile
silos in the mountains, as well as mountain fortresses, tunnels,
bunker complexes, and trenches have all been completed, and a
dedicated AA, artillery, armor, and infantry force has been
posted.

In Secret
A Tactical Armored Light Operator Suit (TALOS) robotic
exoskeleton is under development by the military's R&D
department, designed to be able to grant the wearer extreme
strength, and other abilities in combat. Two versions will be in
development by the military: Infantry, and Armor.
The TALOS suit will include features such as advanced
liquid/Kevlar body armor, including a small layer of titanium
composites to harden and protect against impact. Under the armor
will be an exoskeleton that increases the strength of the
wearer, as well as the speed and precision, allowing for stable
use of their weaponry. On the back of the suit will be the
newest advanced battery pack, allowing for twenty four hours of
continuos use. It is able to be recharged by any electric
outlet, or power source. On the shoulders, and included in the
backpack of the unit is a powerful solar panel, which can charge
the suit in one to two hours.
The entire uniform is outfitted with bio and external sensors to
be able to monitor external and internal environments, such as
temperature and pulse. This information is displayed within the
suit's computer and HUD system, which gives the wearer any
information necessary.
The shoulder pads, elbow pads, knee pads, and helmet include a
small radar center that allows the wearer to detect units around
the wearer, up to fifty feet away. This information is presented
on the HUD and processed by the computer. Included in specific
parts is a composite armor system in the chest and shoulder,
composed of DU/Ceramic glass mesh, giving it good penetration
protection against rounds to the chest, head, and shoulders,
where the vitals are. Included in the helmet, backpack,
shoulders, and elbows is a communication system, allowing for
connection to AEWACS, armor, and incoming aircraft, decreasing
response time and increasing efficiency.
The Armored version will be used by the armored divisions for
use in their tanks, which would allow soldiers to increase their
efficiency in combat, by either increasing their loading, or
increasing their accuracy. This has little armor, and instead
features an advanced computer system, cooling, and linkup with
the tank's communication, visual, early warning, and certain
weapons systems. Using the helmet, a soldier can control the
remote .50 on the top, who's visual system is already
incorporated. This is different for every person.
For instance, a commander would be in control of the .50 (or 40
mm), smoke grenade launchers, navigation, laser designator and
range finders, as well as overall control. A gunner would be
able to control the tank's visual system, and the advanced
computer would process more information than he could,
increasing control and accuracy, as well as be able to hook up
to the autoloader and change which rounds enter the gun, and
control the missile launchers. The driver would be able to
control the tank's visual systems in regards to driving, as well
as be able to view the status of the engine, transmission, fuel
systems, speed, tracks, and forward facing plates. Each one of
these systems, however, are not set in stone, and the systems
can be interchanged, allowing a soldier to operate different
vehicles, as well as different positions more efficiently than
they could before.
An infantry suit would be equipped with utilities for holding
ammunition, grenades, weapons, or other items. The helmet
includes not only the HUD on all suits, but also includes a
laser designator and range finder on the side, increasing both
accuracy and enabling targeting of enemy static structures. The
forearms both include a small combat knife that can be unlocked
if needed in a position of close combat.

The DEN Maglev Train, named the Zephyr, was constructed in the
largest hub of cities, from Hochburg to Tetrarch, with stops
along the way. It was recently reported setting a speed record
of 300 mph with passengers onboard. Currently, the only design
is the passenger train, but a freight train design is being
pursued that would be able to boast speeds of near 170 miles per
hour, if possible. Research into launches of large aircraft or
space craft by maglev has begun, as the idea of a large maglev
launcher would be able to save fuel.

Around the nation, large minefields are being constructed, and
anti aircraft, anti armor and infantry, and missile defense
systems have been placed along the border. Companies of soldiers
have been ordered to patrol around the minefield to halt any
intruders. In addition, the entire nation has been declared a no
fly zone, barring certain requirements.
In Secret
Thousands of construction crews have begun assembling to survey
the construction of large walls around the cities, to act in the
defense of the country in case of attack. A large wall around
the country itself is also being surveyed for construction, and
many different designs are being pursued. Large military
protected super ports are being constructed, as well as large
missile defense and offensive weapons on the ports.

In Secret
The TALOS suit has been completed, the prototype tested, and the
gear put into production, going first to the special operations
units, and the Honor guard. The foundation for the first pieces
of the walls around the cities have been laid, and the wall that
would go around DEN was beginning to be dug in, the construction
crews readying the foundation.

DEN Military has begun development of both a designated marksman
rifle known as DM-1, and an all around weapon, known as the
RMG-1. The RMG-1 is to have a caliber of 7.62 mm, have a range
the same as an assault rifle, have the accuracy and power of a
marksman rifle, have the suppression power of an LMG, have
single, semi, 2x burst, and automatic, and have an automatic
fire rate of both 700 RpM and 1,300 RpM. It is to have a
shorter, compact length, and must have a compact stock. A
prototype has already been given for one of them:

The Marksman rifle, known as the DM-1, is to have a medium to
long range, a high caliber stopping power, and a semiautomatic
fire. The rifle is to be able to penetrate enemy body armor with

In Secret
The DEN military has begun construction of a new tank, fitted
with a 125 mm L55 gun for maximum efficiency. It will include
upgrades in armor, penetration, range, speed, communications,
suspension, and versatility, as well as be able to stay working
longer. Currently, it's pricing is about 10 million each, and it
is expected to go down soon.

In Secret
The first nuclear weapons test was held at the far ends of the
Alaskan territories, and was detonated in the evening. A large,
250 kiloton nuclear explosion was set off, known only to DEN at
the time. The perfect place to conduct the tests, Alaska, was
far enough away that no one would know. Ever. Now, an even more
powerful nuclear weapon at 50 megatons is being researched, and
will have a three stage thermonuclear design. The smallest
nuclear weapon in their arsenal is currently the NA-1, a 100
kiloton nuclear 16 inch round for the Battleships.

In Secret
A secret nuclear weapons test was conducted in the north with a
massive yield of around 10 megatons, putting DEN scientists
further on the way to nuclear domination. With this information,
current nuclear reactors are being designed more efficient, and
much smaller than before. In addition to the nuclear tests, a
small, thermonuclear weapon with a yield of 500 kilotons was
developed, and is small enough to fit in a MIRV missile. In
addition, the creations of ICBMs has been sparked, and with it,
a MIRV booster that can deliver a maximum of five MIRVS. Because
of this new development, a small, 25 ton yield nuclear weapon
(can destroy two to four blocks) has been created, with a
diameter of 125 mm, allowing it to be fitted onto a tank and
launched. In addition, a 55 ton yield nuclear weapon has been
created for the 155 mm gun, and an even powerful last used
version with 10 kilotons has been created for the 175 mm and 200
mm guns.
With the creation of the ICBMs, all ballistic missiles now have
variations that can be launched by nuclear submarines, and the
current ballistic submarine can now carry twelve MIRVS and two
single, 10 megaton launchers. In total, around 62 cities could
be wiped out by one of these submarines. As each fleet carries
four ballistic missile subs, the USSDEN has authorized
construction of fifteen ballistic submarines, and the four
submarines from the Defensive Fleet, and the four from the
Fourth Fleet, have been launched. At least two ballistic
submarines from each other fleet, totaling around six now, has
been fitted with MIRVS and also deployed as a secondary strike
capability. The submarines are to be spaced out evenly among the
other states, staying well within range of the missiles, at
around 500 to 1000 miles from the shore. These stealthy
ballistic submarines have been outfitted with stealth equipment
to reduce sonar detection range and sonar detection as a whole.
In addition, new magnetic drives labeled as Caterpillars are
being developed, and will be fitted on the new Trident Class
Ballistic submarine in development, which is expected to be the
largest submarine in existence. In anticipation of these
submarines, six attack submarines from each fleet, and all
twelve from the fourth fleet, has been deployed to help detect
and report on ship positions and possible ballistic submarine
positions. Every so often, the recorded data is to be sent back
to Homeland for evaluation, recording, and labeling. In addition
to this, classified stealth recon planes (Darts) are to be flown
over superpowers to look for anything out of the ordinary, and
the monitoring of potential enemy ports has been started, to
look for any submarine launches.
