I'm sorry, but we need to RP here. This is an RP region. If you
want to field nuclear ships, research nuclear reactors. No one
gets everything. THAT is unfair.

This bill would not allow those taking this option to even
obtain nukes or nuclear subs! It would make it so they can't at
all unless the created it

It says right in the bill, that if you picked a nation, even if
they had the nukes or capabilities you would not get them. It
also does not say anything about every nation having to follow,
it is mainly meant for new comers and people who can't spend
many hours a week on just military capabilities. I think handing
a new nation a third world real nations military equipment and
capabilities your really doing nothing but giving them a weak
security force until they can find time and start creating
things.

((Assuming this is OOC due to the language of the bill: Wait,
why should we not be permitted to describe our nation's military
handgun/sidearm, and how does that at all affect new members?
That's what people do who want to put work into detailing their
State's armed forces, which is a completely separate issue than
having absurdly large and well-equipped armed forces, which I
recognize may, at times, be a problem. Oddly written and
slightly disdainful post for someone who wanted to say their
military used a 1908 Luger as its sidearm because she happens to
be interested in and knowledgeable about guns.))

I really don't get what everyone is so confused about. Members
will custom militaries would not have to change their ways at
all, they could become as advanced as they want. This bill
allows a nation not so informed about military or weapons to
have an efficient and way to set up their armed forces. This
also has nothing to do about size. If I picked Canada as my
military or India, it would not change my forces size limits. If
I am a brand new nation, I may be 34,000 strong with Canadian
equipment and capabilities, or a bigger older nation and have
340,000 ( just saying it would still be based of your
population). All this does is provide protection for the right
to do so. Actually puts those that take the time to do their
nations in such detail at a bigger and more sustainable
advantage.

This is confusing because you're trying to make legal a bunch of
nothing. People do this already. We don't need this bill.

For someone who joined recently and I would like to think has
some respect among this community, IF this bill was cleaned up
and put in cleaner clearer language, and IF the other more
experienced members agreed to sacrifice their own work, I think
I would agree. My reasons behind this is because it is so fresh
in my mind the anxiety of joining this community, I did not want
to be mocked, degraded, debased, or judged for the way I was
conducting myself. I spent along time mulling over whether or
not to join this community, but I chose this because I felt like
I could make a difference in this community, that I could be
accepted more openly than a large or developed one, that I could
matter to this little bit of the Internet. This is something I'm
glad was brought up by another member before me, I'm basing my
RP on what I personally feel is right for me. I'm in no position
to force what other players do, I choose to have a population of
only 2.3 million, I choose to have a war torn country in the
Western half of Virginia. Playing catch up may not be fun for
every one, but I'm enjoying it because of the RP opportunities
these things have given me. I feel as if NationStates is very
unrealistic, I think we need to establish some baseline rules on
how to shape our RP, WE need to be more accepting of other
players if we really want this community to grow and to last. I
take my NS with a proverbial grain of salt on everything but
GDP, that's me, I think it leads to more personalization. I
DON"T want to punish the experienced players this community was
established upon, I'm only asking if you were to look
objectively from the eyes of a new player on this community.
From the outside this seems to be a very Inclusive community,
this is why I think the map should be expanded to include the
entirety of North America. Because it was very discouraging
looking on the map and finding that the prime land selection was
taken by other players, ADMITTEDLY this happens on any kind of
community or RP, but a map expansion (while admittedly it would
put more stress on Missouri, sorry in advance.) would give new
players a bit of hope. I'm not opposed to DEN, Sparta, Gondor,
Missouri of having well organized militaries or advanced
technology but feeling second place can feel kinda hurtful. It
seems childish to me that Sparta has an economy in the
TRILLIONS, or that DEN has over 2 BILLION people on the Alaskan
islands, no offense to either of you because I know your basing
it off of your NS, but when you consider that you two are waging
war with each other, again nothing personal against that this is
just for perspective, it seems really intimidating to new
players. It's the immediate thought that many of you had when
Nukes began to be tested in RP "How do I protect myself against
that?" Or "How do I save myself?" but this is not about Nuclear
Weapons, this is about the safety and comfort of new players. I
say welcome to them, because I myself remember what it is like
to be new to this community, I only ask that WE remember what it
is like to be in a new and different environment.
And just as a DISCLAIMER I did not mean to offend anybody, this
is MY opinion, this is nothing personal to anyone or how they
play their game.
