"Only in ballistic form, and even then, he won't use them. Sir,
you need to calm down before both of us get in trouble. He is
not one of ours anymore. I already said that. We did not order
him to do that. But he had to do at least some of it." He said,
and stood behind the President, not moving. "If you want to
break down that door, further injure yourself, and arrest me or
have me executed, do so. The worst I could do at that point is
nothing. But if you want to calm down, then maybe we can work
this out to both of our abilities."

"So what is this man then? Rogue? A state sponsored terrorist?
You and your emperor are telling me different things.
"And I have half a mind to simply deport your ass. But don't you
tell me to calm down, after your government clearly and willing
lied to me. But I'm not going to kill you."
He turned around. "Stand down, goddammit, I'm alright! I'll hit
the goddamned nurse button if I'm dying of heart failure or
something." The pounding of the door ceased.
With that, he looked back to the "representative." "And you. You
are going to tell me what to do about this man. I want him
brought to justice. I want to know WHY you let him kill so many
innocent people, or at the very goddamned least let him loose!"

"A mixture of all of them. He is, as one might put it, a rogue
mercenary. It is true that he did leave DEN for his own
purposes, but we did nothing to stop him. How else would he get
the fleet out?" He asked, and had his hands in front of him
crossed. "This man did what he did to create a semi true
illusion of becoming a rogue. In that way, his actions are his,
       not mine."

"You're still dodging the biggest question; Why?"
The president finally got himself back into his bed; nothing
could be done about the ripped out tubes.

"Plausible deniability. We can't be blamed if a pirate just
happens to attack an armed force that we want out, but
politically, we can't touch. As an ally, it IS available to you,
though I can understand why you don't want to use it..." He
said, and looked around. "Want a nurse?"

"But you /can/ be blamed about a failure of security.
Representative... or whatever the hell your real commission is,
pirates do NOT sail around in aircraft carriers and
battlecruisers. One way or another, this fault all lands on your
country, and you need to own up.
"And still, I ask... WHY, goddammit! Why was it necessary to
send out a task force to attack your closest ally, and also
       murder civilians! I say again, he's not a pirate, he's a
terrorist, and he appears to be state-sponsored."
He waved his hand about the medical things. "If I have a heart
attack, call the damn nurse. But I am still furious with this
deception. Not just to me, but to the whole NCSA."

"I'm an ambassador to Enduranca, who just happens to be a
Commissar in the SS. Why do you think I came as fast as I could
to your side?" He asked, looking at him with an eyebrow raised.
"Call him what you like. He's already moved around his forces.
By now, he's impossible to fully track down. One day he'll pay,
but that is not this day. We pointed him in a direction. Would
you have been convinced he was rogue if he attacked Sparta
first? What about West Phonecia? We didn't intend this amount of
violence, and that's why we need to repay you for it."

The President was silent a moment. "Fine. I get it. But it's not
just me you need to repay; you need to repay the NCSA for the
       crimes he committed.
"And for the last time, cut the bullshit and just tell me; Why.
Why was this man given charge of an aircraft carrier task force
and sent on his merry way. Why did you NEED to attack an ally?
Why did you create this whole god damn fiasco in the first
       place."

"The Enemies of the State are not small. In addition, he adds a
wonderful second strike capability in case we are successfully
invaded..." He added. "We will pay. And we will make it up.
       Starting with the funeral."

"No. You still haven't answered my question. Why? Was this whole
thing a twisted fucking publicity stunt? A way to prove to the
world just how powerful you really are? You did not need to
murder my own people to prove that.
"I'm hearing lots of excuses, but no real answer that will
properly explain the deaths of 100 Endurancans, the loss of an
attack submarine, a nuclear powered car carrier, a
reconnaissance aircraft, hundreds of international citizen
deaths in airliner shootdowns, and billions upon billions of
       dollars in shipping.
"No. Tell me, right now, why."
