lifted his hand, and the arguing generals were silent. He
cleared his throat, knowing what he had to say.
"Gentlemen, it has been and honor and a privilege to serve with
you. In these past weeks we have seen our nation brought to its
knees, and truly we are about to be beheaded. You have seen what
DEN is capable of. They will kill us all and our children if we
don't do something. And that something is that we must
surrender. You see it as cowardice, as the unthinkable. But I
know that it is necessary to preserve our state and our future.
For me, it is over. My head will roll, no doubt. But you all, go
to Sparta. Take asylum and come back when it is safe.
The generals began to shout cries of disapproval, but the King
only asserted his commands. They issued the order for all armed
forces to stand down. The war was over, and the terms were soon
to come. Or no terms. It depended DEN.
Public Announcement of Surrender
As decreed by King William III and accepted by Parliament, the
Kingdom of Heavenly Paradise hereby unconditionally surrenders
to the USSDEN and its leaders. All HP military personnel are
henceforth order end to lay down your arms and return to your
homes. The war is over. King William III will be presenting
himself to DEN authorities at their request.
In Secret
The generals board a flight to Sparta to seek asylum. It is not
known if they will make it. They contact the Spartan Government,
saying that they accept the offer and are on their way.

"Sir, we've got twelve fighters, and two large aircraft entering
the no fly zone. Communications reported an enemy transmission
that was sent out to what seems like the fighters. We've managed
to decode a little of it, and it seems like they're trying to
get out someone. I can't tell who." The radar officer reported,
standing in front of Admiral Withers, who was now seated at his
chair on the Bridge of Yorktown, the largest ship in the known
world.
"Ahh. And if I remember, we did get a communication from
Heavenly Paradise, no?" Admiral Withers asked, staring at the
previous communication report. Heavenly Paradise did ask to
surrender, and he would definitely acknowledge that. The first
war of the entire Region, and they had won. But it would be far
from over.
"Aye, sir. Orders on this?" The officer asked, then stopped.
"Ahh, they're requesting to enter. The Spartans seem to be on...
medical assistance, it seems. I don't know why... Looks like
they've got all the humanitarian aide they need."
"That's alright. Let the plane in. But send two interceptors to
stop the plane going OUT. Launch twelve fighters. Give them
orders to destroy the fighters if they go any further." Withers
replied, and thought again for a moment. He nodded, and smiled.

The statement was sent out to every available post, and every
known way of transmission. There would be no one who didn't know
it. Not in a million years. The Yorktown waited a moment, before
sending off the planes to intercept and guide the enemy planes
and fighters.

The jetliner got an incoming transmission from what seemed to be
a fighter jet. They were told to land, or else. The generals
aboard became afraid, very afraid. They knew that they would be
captured and sent off to God knows where, in the cold, icy land
that was DEN. They landed at the next available runway back in
Portland, where they then awaited to be taken custody of by DEN
authorities. The local police made sure they wouldn't escape.
Parliament Building
After hearing of the surrender and receiving the transmission
from DEN about how the surrender would be gone about, the
Parliament members weren't sure what to do. But it wouldn't be
their decision. The Honor Guard came into the assembly hall, ans
announced that they would be held for the coming captors. They
were outraged, but they didn't argue. The lords and
representatives called their families, possibly for the last
time. One man in particular, Lord Harley Eddison, called his
son.
"Son, DEN military personnel are going to come arrest and detain
us. I may just lose my life over this, as I was the one who
wrote the Immigration Control Act, from which this war came. No
matter what people tell you, know I did what I did to protect
our nation. We couldn't just have any people coming here without
knowing what they were up to. Tell your mother I love her. Take
care of the family, no matter what may come. You are the man of
the house. I love you and hope that they treat you well."
His son's words weren't much, but it was to be expected.
Everyone was in shock, and everything had happened so fast.
Military Bases across the State
Commanding officers and their troops put their weapons in the
caches and armories, not knowing what to do. The DEN statement
was posted everywhere for the soldiers to see. One could visibly
see the anguish on the face of the soldiers, knowing that they
had lost the first war of the region. It was a catastrophe.

With the surrender of heavenly Paradise and the demise of the
rebel government the Confederate State of Missouri would like to
resume normal relations with Heavenly Paradise. This includes
trade, diplomatic, and all other relations two friendly
sovereign states normally have.
