DEN Imperialism
By: Caos Date: May 4, 2015, 3:11 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
We live in an interesting place. We are rich in culture,
we are rich in wealth, and we are filled with both diversity and
people. Our knowledge of the world extends to nearly beyond this
world, and we not only harbor and promote knowledge and health,
but we actively pursue it. But we also face the challenges of
the land we live in. A snowy, rocky and forested domain has
forced us to confide in each other. No more could a man live
alone in a massive blizzard then a man could survive in a jungle
alone. And because of that place we live in, we at a strong
people. We are those who don't ride out the storms in shelters,
but face it head on. We are not bothered by the failures, but
strengthened. Our storms, our land and harsh climate, forces is
to confide in each other, forming an even bigger, tighter knit
community. We can survive alone longer than any other because of
this.
Emperor Maximus paused at the podium, staring out into the
populous that stood awaiting his words. A massive crowd...
Something that scared even the strongest of warriors. But he had
to face it head on, or not face it at all. Who was he to run
from adversity? To be scared by fear? Not after that little
speech. He had just broadcast this over the world, and now they
awaited him.
Unfortunately... A population of nearly three billion can
never survive here. Not like this. Our cramped quarters forces
us to imagine both expansion and moving. Resources here are
slowly depleted to fuel not only us, but the rest of the region.
Our oil, steel, gold, coal, petroleum, uranium, rare metals, you
name it, are not only used by us, but also projected outwards.
We have an influx of trade at well over 1 billion Acquireds a
year. Dare I say, well over a trillion. We export more than
import. But we import only what we need: Food.
Miles upon miles of indoor farms, fishing platforms that span
miles over water, wells and water collectors, and fish farms
have so far sustained us. Our oil drilling, our mining, and our
quarrying, have so far sustained our purchases and imports of
food... But we can do better.
It came to my attention one day... That we cannot further
sustain ourselves. Not on just this land. Not with just this
materials. But I can't put that pressure on you. I cannot slash
budgets that we need, such as military, industry, police, or
education. I cannot simply create budgets, and further up our
tax rates. This would turn from a socialist era, to a crushing
era. No, this is not my intention. So that is why... We have
adapted and adopted a new standard.
From now on... We... Cannot keep to ourselves.
He paused, taking a drink of water. Now he had their attention.
The United Socialist States of Die Erworbenen Namen will
begin a projection of our needs, and of our wants. We will not
be confined by our weaknesses, nor the weaknesses imposed on us
by the masses! To survive, we are forced to adopt not only an
active stance, but also an aggressive one. Because of security
issues... I cannot reveal exactly what this means, but I will
tell you this: you will notice the difference. You will notice
the rise.
Long live DEN.
Long live order!
King William, knowing that DEN is near his Kingdom, has been put
on edge by this statement. He only can wonder what exactly
Emperor Maximus could mean by DEN taking an aggressive stance.

Nearly right after the speech given, there was a massive change
happening. Dozens of trade ships bound for other places were
sent, and nearly all were laden with products. Perhaps the
biggest changes, however, was the massive amounts of mobile oil
rigs proceeding to leave for the ocean, as well as a large drive
to start construction work in areas. In the southern areas,
where warmer areas were, what looked like large buildings were
being built, and in the northern area, a large amount of
construction equipment and people were beginning to form. The
mountains suddenly became alive with god knew what.
The ports as well were beginning to burst into life, and this
brought about an interesting movement. Dozens of ships, all of
them passenger freighters, were seen leaving the DEN ports and
heading off to what seemed like Heavenly Paradise, as a couple
thousand people decided to leave for the nation. No one knew why
they left, but it was seen that many decided to try out that
place. And it wasn't just there, either. It was all over, as
well. People left for other nations, as well. By air, or by sea.
In Secret
Slowly but surely, one by one, small forces no larger than a
battalion of a thousand men were being mobilized in remote
regions of the country. Under cover of either heavy clouds,
massive blizzards and snowstorms, or just posing as
construction, small emplacements were being built on the border.
Trenches, bunkers, barbed wire, mines, and even hedgehogs and
dragon's teeth anti tank concrete teeth were very well placed
and camouflaged to be hidden from people. In the sea, there was
an influx of mines being dropped, which would be remote
activated if needed. Well hidden construction crews began the
excavation of the mountains, and Emperor Maximus ordered at
least five large mountain fortresses to be built, which would be
protected against even a nuclear strike.
These mountains would be able to hold at least a division of
soldiers, as well as their ground vehicles. All around the
mountains, in the cover of snow and clouds, the building of
tunnels, outposts, and fortress complexes was being conducted.
Large artillery batteries and missile silos were being built
right into the mountains, and being built very slowly and
carefully, so as to not attract attention.

Portland, Heavenly Paradise
King William had been brought reports of increased activity in
the USSDEN. That nation was quickly springing to life, and they
needed to keep an eye on things. The most alarming thing was an
influx of immigrants and tourists from the USSDEN. Thousands of
them were coming in every day, whether it would be by boat,
plane, or other mode or transportation. He knew not why, but it
was concerning. That and the fact that Emperor Maximus had said
they would be aggressive and take what they need. Not soon
after, his nation had roared to life. He had a plan. All
immigrants would have to fill out paperwork to say what their
business would be in the state, otherwise they would be turned
away, not meeting proficient requirements to contribute to
Heavenly Paradise society. He sent a letter to both houses of
Parliament asking for such a bill to be passed.

Pacific Ocean
International Waters
80 miles off the coast of Heavenly Paradise
DEN 4th Fleet
Panther class Destroyer, DENS Coggernaut
In Secret
The destroyer sliced through the calmer waves of the massive
ocean, the angled hull of the ship pushing the water aside both
above and below water, dipping up and down ever so slightly in
the calm weather. The front deck of the ship was occasionally
splashed with water, the liquid rolling off the metal like
butter on a hot plate, and splashed against the gun turret in
the front. The VLS cells were closed against the water, letting
it pool against the lips of the indented launchers. The turret
gave way to the VLS cells, and the cells to the helipad, and in
turn to the superstructure of the ship that housed it's command
and control; sleek, efficient, and modern in it's design.
From that command and control center in the windowed bridge
stood the captain of the ship, examining the cold waters of the
pacific from the safe, warm confines of the ship's bridge. With
his eyes, he could see no ship in sight, and from the passive
AESA radar in his ship, he could see none for twenty miles. For
just as long, there was no submarine under them. There would not
be another ship for miles to come, as those ships were either
the occasional fishing boat, or the passenger boats from DEN.
There was no other military ship anywhere near them. Just as
they wanted. A sole destroyer, sailing in international waters
as they pleased. Just waiting for orders.
They had been sailing for at least a month, having memorized
trade routes of ships, and the orbit of whatever satellites were
above them. It was in this way that they avoided detection,
being very slow and careful to approach, using their stealth to
their advantage. Now, they were within the ranges that they
needed to be at, within gun range of any ships that were
entering or leaving Heavenly Paradise. Now they needed to stay
where they were, and continue to avoid detection.
I am proud to announce that as of now, the DEN economy
has been spurred in such a way that has never been seen before.
Thousands of jobs have been created, and even now we are
continuing to grow. But this is only the beginning. Yes, while
most of our jobs are public construction job, there is one or
two military construction jobs that are beginning. To put aside
suspicions, this is what they are:
Emperor Maximus took a pause, taking a sip and looking at
everyone who was standing in front of him, waiting.
As everyone knows, our biggest industry is the Arms
Manufacturing industry, and it is a place that we excel. Because
of this, I wish to not only strengthen it, but broaden it. For
the first time ever, we are now selling DEN weaponry and armor
for all to enjoy! Because of this new opening, a more robust
infrastructure is required. We must now assign factories solely
to production of exporting military equipment, and as such, we
have to provide security for that, too. Dozens of new factories
to produce guns, armor, and tanks have been ordered down. In
addition, construction of R&D sectors for sales has been
ordered. We'll expect the completion of those in no time at all.
Now on to the internal security. As you know, we have a large
population which we must keep safe. I have ordered the
construction of four fortresses on our borders: Tetrarch,
Krepest, Hochburg, and Marxburg. These are the four biggest, not
including three already massive fortresses: Hochburg City,
Maginot, and Festung. Currently, these fortresses will be
modernized and upgraded, and with this we expect to see a rise
in jobs.
Even so, we still have a good ways to go. The oil industry is
expected to boom with the new wave of offshore drilling in the
Pacific, and with the new construction, a plethora of minerals
and materials will be needed. The lumber, mining, and quarrying
industry is going to boom. This, unfortunately, will not be
enough to sustain us. Until we can secure more land... There
will be people leaving. It is sad, but it is necessary. But with
this more aggressive approach than ever, we will be stronger
than before! Unfortunately, we will be stricter with immigrants,
and we will be accepting less. Stricter rules will be enforced,
and embassies will be watched. This is only for protection.
Thank you.
Long Live DEN.
Long Live Order!
Emperor Maximus stepped down from his podium, watching the
crowds cheer him on and shout his name, chanting the words DEN,
DEN over and over again. It was a wonderful sound and sight, and
Maximus felt prouder than ever. Still... He knew there was some
things he needed to do still. He mind flew to the DEN Embassy in
Heavenly Paradise, and he thought about it. Yes... This would
do.
"Emperor Maximus. Greetings." A man said, and Maximus smiled,
walking up to him. They saluted, then shook hands.
"Greetings, Führer. How goes things?" Maximus asked, smiling and
looking at him.
"Good. It all goes to plan. Rumors of a stricter immigration law
being proposed have surfaced. It all goes according to plan.
Even Coggernaut is in position, and I suspect the Death Korps
who went with the men will begin their plans. Shall I order
them?" Vladimir asked, walking alongside.
"Absolutely. The plan must be put into action. Soon, I believe,
we shall be victorious." Maximus said, and smiled, nodding to
Vladimir. The man in turn saluted and left, presumably to order
the plan into action. Maximus was smiling. Smiling widely. Above
everything else... He was proud.
In Secret
"Hey! Sorry... You woke me up. What's up man?" A voice said in a
darkened room, presumably talking on a telephone. "Oh, hey dad."
"Hello, son. Listen, I know you might not wanna hear this... But
your dog died today. Doctor said it was cancer. It just..."
Another voice replied on the telephone, and it sighed.
"I know. It ate him from within. Well... Damn... We wasn't even
that old, either... Know how he could've gotten it?" A voice
replied, his voice down.
"Probably from chewing all those bad toys. Someone always said
it was bad, but we didn't listen." The man replied, and they
nodded. They proceeded to talk a little bit, before they hung
up, and the lights went on.
"Wake up." The man said in the room, the light emanating from
the lamp besides his bed. He was in a bedroom, sitting on his
big bed.
"What is it..." A woman's voice replied, moaning and rolling
over. She looked up at him. "Hmm?"
"That was Vladimir. Actually... Rather, it was Roberts. Dog
died." He said, his face absolutely serious. The girl knew what
he meant, and she nodded.
"Dog died. From within."

As more immigrants sweep into the country, the Immigration
Control Act passed through both houses of Parliament earlier
this morning. The immigrants will be required to fill out mounds
of paperwork stating their business in HP, and even then they
must be approved by the new Immigration Department, which was
created by the bill.

A provision was added to the law stating that immigrants must
also pass background checks to ensure citizenship. The security
forces and military are being told to watch for any possible
USSDEN spies or military personnel if at all possible.

Heavenly Paradise
Somewhere in the Capitol
Namenian Citizens
"Hey! You! Yes, man! You! How much money do you have on you? How
much could you but with that? Not a lot, huh? Who's fault is
that? Yours? Naw. We can't blame you!" A man shouted, standing
on a large soapbox. He was shouting and holding a megaphone in
his hand. "Take a look, take a look. This isn't the best place!
You live in a wasteland, man! Your economy sucks, and your
country focuses on the military! You're all prejudice against
immigrants! What kind of country are you in? If someone is down
on their luck, you blame them! Is it really their fault if the
economy sucks?"
"Eh... He has a point." Out of the citizens said, walking up to
the soapbox. "I remember coming over from DEN... Man, it was
crowded... But there was a much better economy... Everyone was
nice. This is just bullshit!"

A Change of Heart
Parliament Repeals Immigration Control Act
In recent news, Parliament has seen the discomfort and
mistreatment of immigrants to Heavenly paradise as a result of
the Immigration Control Act. They have also seen the benefits of
allowing the immigrants to come and work, boosting the economy
of Heavenly Paradise. The Immigration Control Act has been
completely abolished, and legislators are saying that immigrants
will now be given complete citizenship upon arrival, and no
paperwork is need. They will be accepted with open arms, as they
are NeoConfederate Citizens. There will be no more bureaucracy
and mistreatment of immigrants, for they bring a bright future
and promise to Heavenly Paradise. They are a boon in this
troubled time, and Heavenly Paradise will take all immigrants
under its wings.

"Down with the Government! Look at these bastards! They only
appeal this laws to prevent a civil war! Take up arms, men, and
fight! This is a disgrace upon the NCSA! It cares not for it's
people, only for war! They squander their precious money on war
and the military! What good is that? I bet they'd use us as
shields if given the chance!" The man shouted, holding his fist
in the air. He had attracted a massive crowd, and they were
chanting 'down with the government'. "This is no heavenly
paradise! This is hell, masquerading as earth! Look around you!
It's a poor, militaristic wasteland! If I could, I'd go back to
DEN! Down with the government!"
The people in the square were chanting, shaking their fists in
the air. A riot was starting, and it was all because of the
people. They were angry at the government for not taking care of
them.
"The government took back that law, but it's too late to
apologize! TAKE THEM DOWN! Take down the oppressors, rise up!
Take control of your lives! Those corrupted politicians are
holding you back! And for what, guns? Take them down!" The man
shouted, and the people started shouting around him. He had a
massive crowd around him, and they were getting angry. With a
smile, he slid into the crowd, disappearing. Meanwhile, they
chanted and shouted.
