Guards of the Hirilian Realm
enforces compulsory military service and maintains an extensive
military industrial complex. Hirilia is still not a nuclear
power, however there are forces within the parliament and the
military that push Hirilia towards developing nuclear armaments
despite the governing bodys insistence on an anti-nuclear
arsenal. The Hirilian military bases have a standard setup in
the east but to the west, exhausted mines and land are sold back
to the government and the mines are expanded into elaborate and
highly prized subterranean military bases. This includes most
army and air force bases. With a population of 16 million
Hirilians all of them, men and women, serve in the armed for a
minimum of 2 years after turning 18. It is then up to them
whether they would rather remain or if they would prefer to
exit. Currently, the Hirilian military is comprised of 500,000
professional soldiers and officers with an additional 75,000
currently in their mandatory 2 years of service.

throughout the nation the Army has the second largest budget in
the Armed Forces and is the parent branch to the Hirilian Strike
Forces. With peaceful neighbors to the west and empty wasteland
to its south and east the Hirilian Army is largely used for
border patrol and often the training of the Hirilian Militia.

- Air Force
-The Air Force is the second largest branch of the
Hirilian military and is primarily based on the east side of the
nation in large hidden valleys and underneath hills and
mountains. The serve the nation by patrolling the Hirilian
airspace and providing safe guidance of foreign planes over the
nation.

- Special Forces
The Special Forces comprise of only 5,000 7,000 individuals
and are largely inactive. Most of the year they spend training
for the day they are needed. They also serve a ceremonial
purpose in many national rituals. \
- Merchant Marine
As Hirilia is a land locked nation and has no need for a Navy,
it does not have one. However, it has a very small branch of the
military in charge of protecting the ports and trading ship on
the Snake and parts of the Columbia rivers. These are not
military ships however the Merchant marines are armed and are
knowledgeable on water-based combat
- Hirilian Militia
The Hirilia Militia is a special branch of the Hirilian Army
that is tasked with the suppression of militant or secessionist
forces within the nation. Most missions occurring in eastern
Hirilia, the Hirilian Militia finds itself very well-funded and
very well equipped. Most future Hirilian Special Forces units
begin careers in the Hirilian Militia.
- General Weaponry
Blades All troops are armed with a tactical Bowie knife as
well as a tactical tomahawk, and are trained in basic hand to
hand combat as well as lethal force with these blades, Soldiers
are also allowed to bring their own pocket knives along with
them. Swords are not permitted.
Grenade All branches have access to the M67 Fragmentation
Grenade with some branches having access to smoke and thermite
grenades.
Handguns High Ranking officers are given a Ruger GP 100, and
the standard issue handgun is M9 Berreta with the Highest
Ranking officers (Generals and such) being appointed any hand
gun they choose to carry, most carry personalized 1911s
Assault Rifle All branches are given the FN SCAR Mk 17, but
the Special Forces may choose which ever rifle best suits them.
Shotgun All branches have access to the Remington 870
