Re: President Bar, Richmond's Capitol Bar!

Just then, Representative Adam Jonathan burst through the door.
He shouted "Howdy, everyone!" Everyone glanced at him for a
split second, before continuing on with their conversations.
"Right, okay..." he said awkwardly. He sat up at the bartender
and said "I'll just have a Jack Daniels" He got his drink. After
taking a big gulp, he slammed it down on the desk. He was
dressed in a fine suit, with a Texan cowboy hat and boots. He
suddenly noticed REP Langdon at the pool table. He smiled and
got up, bringing his Jack Daniels with him. "Howdy" he said,
picking up a que of his own. He had no idea how to play pool. He
placed a 30 Texan dollar bill on top of the existing money. He
said "I'd like to thank yer boys for helpin' us in the war. That
was mighty kind of ya. Ya hear?"

Thomas Scott walked into the bar. He made a quick look around
and chuckled to himself at how the other representatives acted.
Dressed in a brown suit. He carried a cane and had a red bow tie
on. He wore black bowler hat and seemingly looked out of place.
He appeared as if he was from the 1800s. The only exception to
this was the fact that he had a surf board necklace. He also had
a states ring on his right hand. he walked up to the bartender
and ordered a Wellsian Rum. He then began looking around for
anything interesting as he drank from his cup.

"That is quite alright Mr. Jonathan, it is our pleasure to
assist any of our brother states in time of need", Rep. Langdon
replied with a slight drawl. The Confederate Missouri accent lay
somewhere between the familiar Southron Drawl/twang and the
Midwestern rural accent. "Mr. Arik, it is your shot", he
repeated again.

"Hmm? Oh, my apologies, my friend. I was engrossed in the
children's section of the bar." Arik replied, and then gave a
quick lay out of the board. The balls were everywhere, and he
had already been chosen for the solids, and the man had sunken
two of the balls already. Boy was he in for something. He looked
around and saw the 1 ball perched right next to a 13, making it
a difficult shot. "My my my, Mr. Langdon... right where I didn't
want it to be. 1, left pocket."
He made the shot in a careful manner, and the ball was knocked
clean into the hole, while the 13 was bumped ever so slightly
up. That would make a wonderful shot for Langdon... and the cue
ball! Oh, the cue ball was almost scratched! He made another
scan and saw the 12 right next to the 4.... but he could never
make that. There was another shot.... a trick shot, it would
seem. In front of him and directly on the right side was the 6
ball... and in front of him two stripers. He took very careful
aim, and.... "6 ball, right pocket."
He made the shot so the ball jumped right over the striped ball,
and hit the 6 ball dead into the pocket, but it was almost a tad
too much power... risky business this was. "Hmm..... I'd say...
4, right corner."
He made another stroke, and this time, hit the ball in... with
the cue, and the 12! He almost swore on his bad luck. Taking a
sip of his drink, he laughed out loud and said, "Scratch.. and I
got one in for you, Mr. Langdon!"

Adam Jonathan watched the game. "Tough luck, Mr. Arik." He
looked at his Jack Daniels and smiled. "You boys wanna see me
down it?"

"No thank you..." He replied, and frowned. That wasn't a smart
thing to do.

Representative Graham entered the room. He was tired, he had
been awake for several hours, and was not quite used to the
customs of his other States not their mannerisms of their
Representatives. He looked at the bartender and saw something
familiar there, something he saw in himself, or maybe he was
just tired and looking for a face of comfort. Realizing that he
had been staring he muttered "A glass please." The barkeep
thought little of his request and handed him an empty mug. The
Representative looked around the room at his other delegates,
and it only made him feel more tired than before. Ignoring their
conversations he took himself to the rear of the room where he
faced the window looking outwards. He pulled a flask from his
coat and poured a draft of strong Turkducken Beer, the smell
alone was overpowering, let alone the taste. He took a drink
from his glass and tears formed in his eyes, from the strength
of the drink he could not say, and as he looked outside he
forgot of his immediate surroundings and thought of home, how he
missed it, and his wife. Pained as though those thoughts may be,
he thought of the bombed out villages he saw, the orders he
gave, it troubled him to be here.

Representative Scott Dunn followed soon after. Before he entered
the bar he heard the bickering of the other representatives. He
knew he would have to weigh in again at some point, but at the
moment he couldn't care less. He saw Representative Graham from
the across the room, brooding over a beer, what kind he couldn't
tell. He approached the bar itself and called for a glass of
Hirilian whiskey straight. On the television above, played other
reporters take on what had happened to Chip the newsman in
Hirilia and how Enduranca had closed off the border leading to
Hirilia. 'Card, you s**thead, what the hell are you doing?' was
all Dunn could think. He knew that Card was not right for the
job, the guy was a weasel, a militant hawk who would talk big
and puff his chest, but could be popped by the smallest prick.
He knew that once he went back to Hirilia he would throttle
Cards, scrawny neck. He prayed that Raley would be fine. He
stood, went past Representative Graham, patting him on the
shoulder in reassurance and then decided to dive into the worst
battle of all... the one of politics.

As Representative Dunn passed by he warmly reassured
Representative Graham of himself. What he did not know however
was that he awoke the man from a fugue state of mind. He was
confused as to where he was, not remembering his travel, and
felt a tear wet on his face. He struggled to recover his
thoughts, ultimately he could not, and began to question as to
why a man he hardly knew touched him in such a familiar way.
"Sympathy?" He mused, "Affection? Friendship? Kindness?" He
hardly knew which made him feel better or worse. Standing from
his chair he decides something bold, something he so rarely did
now, an act seeking friendship. "Free drinks!" He proclaimed,
"For whoever chooses to come sit with me, and introduce
themselves." He was satisfied with this, and was content.

"I think, Tovarishch..." The Namenian representative said,
walking a moment away from the pool table. He had been there too
long and he knew it was time to move to a better spot. "I shall
take you up on that offer. I am Ascrith Taranis."
