I would like an amendment made to ensure the safety of players
who dont want to be dragged into a rp.
From what I was told last night. I had the understanding that
you gotta play even if you dont declare back. If this is the
case. Can we make this a point.

No no no, that's a gross misunderstanding.
Look at it this way:
If I have no reason to invade you, and you present no reason, or
you just don't like me, then you don't have to participate.
If you start making yourself a target (ie build nukes, perform
genocide), you can't start crying when people invade you. Look
how well that worked out with Sparta.

Ooc. That brings into effect a whole new bill. Right of invasion
bill. You are just one state if another state wants to massacre
their citizens you are not the world police. You would not like
it if someone invaded you because you have nukes etc.
A proper bill needs to be introduced to that affect.

If you don't want to be invaded, DONT BE A TARGET. Don't walk
into a battlefield with a giant red sign saying 'shoot me'.
Because I will. I developed nukes because, why not. But here's
where your argument drops.
See, if I'm invaded, I take the consequences for my actions. I
haven't chickened out yet, and I only did it once because I was
tired of AU. Personally though, I've always had dreams of
standing alone against the entire NCSA. I'm not going to be a
little wimp and go run crying to momma when I get invaded after
I do something stupid.

OOC: As long as there is a revision making it clear that someone
can decide not to participate in any given RP (e.g. someone
decides they want a war with you, and you just don't want to
deal with it, and decline), I would support this, since I do
believe that people should not just be able to back out of RP
entirely once they start to engage in it (e.g. someone just
ceasing to post or acknowledge things if a war goes against
them, because they demand that they should win).
It might also be good to have a provision for leaves of absence
or unforeseen events (illness; family issues; internet
connection issues) that cause people to be unable to post for a
time. They should be excused for "not participating" in those
cases. Ideally they should give notice but sometimes it could be
impossible, e.g. if someone has to be rushed to an emergency
room and gets stuck in a hospital, or they lose internet
connectivity without any warning from their ISP.
I definitely support the idea of all RP being interconnected
across the different forums and subjects, and have no issues
with that part of this.
