About the Tech Level of the Region
By: (Western) Scientificum Date: May 1, 2015, 8:49 pm

I know that the region is Modern Tech, But while I was gone, I
already set up Scientificum to be of 22nd-23rd century
technology, Which is of course way ahead of MT (because
technology only gets better faster), Is that allowed?

The reason for an established tech level is so that everyone is
playing on the same field. It wouldn't really do for everyone to
be using slug throwers and tanks and someone else to be using
phasers and starships. Do you guys remember when we had someone
join who wanted to play a crashed alien species and how well
that went over? Hmmm? ::)

Could we have a different tech level Instead? Like cold war era
or world war II era? It would help alot with finding the end
lines on tech IMO.

What we could do is allow some development latitude. Say cap
tech at stuff that is looking at being in actual production by
say the 2020s or so? Require some sort of link to proof of it?
This would allow for some realistic scifi kind of stuff (hard
scifi, sort of cyberpunk maybe) but keep tech relatively
comparable. A good example might be this.
