Contests & Their Guidelines!

Hello, I'd like to introduce contests to this forum.
If you are to start a contest - read this thread thoroughly, it
can only be your friend!
You are limited to the range of the internet - flash games,
console games, word games, whatever!
We highly recommend making use of the 'arcade games' section!
(
HTML http://nationsunited.createaforum.com/index.php?action=arcade)
Slayden has made it so that contests that are approved by the
staff can be run with a prize.
These prizes will include:
- TEMPORARY AWESOME USERNAME COLORS!
- Special titles!
- Folding points (Maybe)
- Extra (temporary) stars! (Maybe)
Now, of course, the staff only want competitions that are
functional and fair, so here's an insight to the standards that
the staff hold for the contests and would like to approve. This
of course isn't anything official, it's just what the
staff will be looking for most of the time (i.e. something to
take into consideration).
Please note that it's not necessary for you to have exactly what
is listed here to have to be approved, these are just some
general guidelines. If you go to the staff with a different
setup that doesn't require some of these things but is still
functional and fair, it can still gain approval.
Your contest should be running adequately and
successfully
A contest should have to be running for a set amount of time
before the staff can consider it for approval. Reason being is
that the staff wants to make sure that the competition is being
run smoothly and fairly, as well as making sure it's fun and
beneficial to the community in some form. Again, this is easily
subject to change, depending on whatever factors happen to come
into play, but a bit of your own discretion and common sense is
required for when you believe it's suitable for approval.
Your Competition Staff
The staff wants to have an appropriate amount of judges on your
team for a contest. They will also be assessing how the judges
are chosen. Please report your methods before starting a
process. If your contest is to run, we must know what goes on
behind the scenes as well.
Contest Format
The staff wants a very clear thread about how the contest is
run, what it's about, how it goes, etc. Contests that are
written quickly, and are hard to read are going to have a much,
much harder time getting approved.
Owner Conduct:
It is important that the hosts, before and after chosen display
mature, respectful and unbiased behaviour. It's also important
to note that as they will be working very closely with the Mods
in regards to their contest, they will have to abide by whatever
the staff asks of them in regards to the contest, that is if
they wish to keep their prizes. On this note, hosts are not
allowed to give any additional prizes away apart from to winners
of their contests without Mod approval.
These standards are subject to change.
---
Keep this in mind
* It will take 2 mods to approve a contest before it can
official. However, it takes 3 negative votes to disapprove it.
* To get your contest approved, please send ME, Slayden, or a
full moderator a request. We will get back to you within a few
days. Your contest will be discussed in the mod hut, so make
sure you've thought of everything before submitting it for
approval.
The owner's of these contests are a representatives of the site,
and they are given a large amount of responsibility, as contests
attract visitors, and show how we work as a site. The staff
doesn't want people who are behaving incorrectly to acquire a
position like that.
If your contest is suspected of being foul or being run badly,
it's prizes will be taken away. This will be done via a 2 strike
system in the moderator hut.
Have fun!

Since Slayden approves, my guess is yes. However, I don't have
access to the mod hut, so my opinions will be voiced through
PM's.

Sure. Our staff isn't really that big and I think it's good that
you help along too.

Hopefully these contests are original though. I would be a
little disappointed if we just start copying them from JV.
Do you guys have any ideas?
