Online or offline gaming?

Do you prefer playing online multiplayer games with match making
and ranks and leaderboards or do you prefer playing local, or
playing by yourself? (mostly for people who play games for the
storyline sometime.)
Most games I play don't rely on online multiplayer, I'm not very
competitive. I love games with great storylines though.
It usually depends on what game it is to determine whether you
like playing online on it more or not, but video games as a
whole, I don't prefer matchmaking that much, just sometimes
achievements and completing games.
(Note that this goes along with only console games.)

I only play offline games now, online games are too addicting
and time wasting, I want to keep my little hobby so I only play
single player games with way better graphic and storyline c':

I prefer offline as there is more flexibility with what I want
to do and some online games require multiplayer interaction to
beat a certain boss or whatever it may be.

It really depends on the game. playing pr2 offline would be
incredibly boring, but many offline games are great. I think I
prefer offline games more overall for their storylines

I'm rather competitive though I do like some offline game play
now and then, it depends on what mood I'm in. I don't have a
specific mindset for which type I enjoy more.

I online game more often because I can both talk to my friends
and play with them as well without the hassle of inviting them
over to my house. However, games that are offline-based are
extremely fun and usually have great gameplay, stories, etc. so
I'll have to pick offline gaming.

I mostly buy games for the online features. A huge part of
gaming for me is to enjoy it with my friends.
