It's just impossible to take seriously. I don't even feel like
there's a fluid canon and a firm plot being built on anymore.
Not wasting any more time trying lol

Episode 4 was a bit better than the last three, but at the same
time completely ruined Unalaq's character... bleh.

Bump, as it turns out, this season ended up similarly to the
first one, in which the second half far exceeded the first one.
Good finale, if a bit cliche, but I wouldn't recommend this
season to those who haven't enjoyed the first one, as all the
issues that were in the first season are perpetuated in this
one, as well as the new issue of incredibly infuriating
character idiocy, inconsistency, and the ultimately strange role
Varrick played (he felt incredibly out of place within the
story, which is a shame as his character ran circles around
everyone else this season, soloing them all no diff).
Now, it turns out that this season was ultimately an avenue
through which the following season will proceed. [spoiler]This
is because Korra opened up the spirit portals as she was tricked
by Unalaq in order to free Vaatu, an evil spirit thing that
wants to turn the world into darkness or whatnot. Once Vaatu
and Unalaq are defeated by the twin powers of nonsensical plot
elements and plot no jutsu, she keeps the portals open as Bryce
and Mike needed a plot for season 3 and 4. Yes, I have gone
completely cynical at this point[/spoiler]. However, it
ultimately served a purpose for Korra's spiritual development
(even if 50-75% of the season had nothing to do with this), and
hopefully, from what I've read about the next season, the next
season should hopefully actually lead to a better story than
this one. The one true positive from this season is Varrick, a
fantastic character I hope returns.
