I think that they lose sight of just the image that the
animation gives off by looking too airbrushed in Shippuden. It's
not even that their animation can compare with other animes that
I've seen, because it doesn't by any means. Selling out the
imperfect yet fitting animation for an overly uniform look is
the stupidest thing ever lol. And then we have to deal with all
the animation companies' filler arcs (Sometimes they do need to
give the manga time to develop so it doesn't catch up, but the
most recent filler arc or 2 or 5 was just like come on). Part
1's first fillers were the best ones by far: What's under
Kakashi's mask? Perhaps only Tobirama knows..

Anime looks better when it mirrors the art style of the manga.
which is why SnK and OP have in my opinion the best animation.
SnK is very modern top end ; the art style looks identical. One
Pieces anime has the perfect mirror of the mangas art syle too :
hence they are my favorites

Yes, credit has to be given to them for sticking with what
matches the manga as far as when they went and got animation
done.
Naruto's manga art style has changed over the years, to where it
does resemble the modern anime more than ever before, but it's
plain to see that the early animation was simply the best fit
for the show

Agreed. i can understand why a long running saga would
occasionally need filler arcs or breaks, but the style itself
has no need to be "upgraded" because it never ends up improving
its credibility

I get the sense their upgrade was more of an upgrade than just
casting "cheaper" art aside for the highest bidder
