The way I see it, even though Sasuke could potentially
have a valid case if his actions and those of Danzo, the ANBU,
the Uchiha clan, etc. were made public knowledge when combined
with his acts to help the SA in the war, I just can't see them
taking all the time (even if it would only take a couple
chapters) in order to clear Sasuke's name to the public.
At most, his name may be cleared in Konoha, or possibly
just within the Konoha 11. Despite his qualifications in terms
of skills, smarts, work ethic etc., I see no scenario with
Sasuke ever taking the title of Hokage unless Naruto gives it
to him, dies, or becomes a Rikodu Sennin-like figure. Even then,
if Naruto keeps the title long enough, it wouldn't even be solid
that he'd pass on the title to Sasuke: Naruto has a more fervent
admirer and follower with a much cleaner record - Konohamaru.
This is a manga of parallels and every once in a while,
characters appear to realize parallels and attempt to break them
in order to change their destinies. Obviously knowing the
history of the Uchiha and Konoha, it's likely that Sasuke sees
Madara's failure to become Hokage as well as the Uchiha
repeatedly taking second place to the Senju after the village's
formation as all the reason he needs to want the title, if only
for the security of the clan he wishes to start over. That is
all discounting the fact that if Naruto led the village, he'd
most likely allow Sasuke the chance to state his case and/or
give him a pardon outright for his crimes, which would also give
him the opportunity to start his clan over in his home village.
Keep in mind that just because he has credibility in Naruto's
eyes, doesn't mean he'll ever regain the trust of Konohagakure,
or the ninja world for that matter.

Maybe in that spinoff about Sasuke in the Road to Ninja movie
he'll become the ho-kage
...
