I like the idea of being in sage mode in his bijuu mode it would

Thanks. I find it quite saddening that Naruto has gone from
Ninjas with Ninja stuff to Super Saiyan wannabes with farts
capable of destroying the landscape around them.

This sums it up completely. The powerups piling up were nice in
part one but it feels like so much that has happened makes less
and less sense when more of these asspulls and OP jutsus and
dojutsus and kekkei genkais and all Tobirama's techniques keep
coming out .. like I can't imagine how a battle between
Orochimaru and Hiruzen would look now as opposed to the original
one.
Technically, even in part 1 Orochimaru knew most if not all of
the techs that he knows now, and the only difference is that now
the audience is also aware of his capabilities as well as those
of the first two Hokages. The scaling in the manga has gone to
the point where I doubt that a battle could ever be held on a
rooftop again without at least a three mile radius being
destroyed just because that's just what shinobi do now.
I truly miss when kunai and shurikens meant something, and a
Sharingan was a mysterious and rare advantage in battle that
would cause even high level shinobi to flee in fear. Remember
when hand seals meant something?

The most Ninja like ninjas right now are : Lee,Gai,Minato. This
is due to the Taijutsu we use and the small scale yet still
powerful attacks. ( exclude Hiradora ) , Naruto went from Sage
mode to trebling his power in about 120 chapters. Hashirama went
from just above Jounin level ( as he was perceived ) in part one
to God tier in part 2.
What caused all of these powerups to begin with was the fact
Kishimoto made: Sasuke grow so quickly, Itachi so strong and
Nagato so bloody overpowered. I preferred part 1 as it was a
manga about ninjas. Now it's a competition to see who can change
the world map the most. And right now Obito is winning.
Kishimoto seems to have exploited the fact Kabuto summoned so
many strong characters as an excuse for all these powerups. He
didn't need to make the Edo Tensei so overpowered but once we
saw my rivals Trollkage and Muu fight. There was no turning back
for Kishimoto.

I agree with your points on powerups and I personally think the
Edo Tensei was a bad move on the part of Kishimoto simply due to
the scale with which it was used. Understandably, assuming
Orochimaru, Kabuto and their cohorts could have easily been
playing grave robbers for years prior to Orochimaru's defeat by
Sasuke. Obviously both had significant access to places like
Konoha, where the deceased were used in order to emotionally
cripple the Alliance. Some of the big time ninja that Kabuto
brought back, such as the 4th Kazekage and Hiruzen, were killed
by Orochimaru or in a battle with Orochimaru, to the point where
it would make sense for him to be able to resurrect them (Having
DNA, or the body etc.) I think that had the Edo Tensei been used
on a lesser scale, with mercenaries or a traitorious hidden
village or two being manipulated by Obito as the main body of
his army while the Edo Tensei bodies were much smaller in number
but significantly more prominent (and cut out the zetsu fodder
completely wtf) the war would have made alot more sense from the
beginning. It seems like the only way Kishi can demonstrate a
war is to have constant fodder v. fodder and it leaves no
impact on the story nor the audience. This is all only made
worse due to the fact that Kishimoto refuses to kill off any
good characters and instead has to demonstrate enemy power on
fodder crowds and the landscape. It's one sided and gives the
war no real sense of urgency or tragedy. How did he try to
combat this? Neji? Really?
For me, it worked to have Pain as powerful as he was until
everybody he killed got out of the arc alive. It made useless
all the power he had and made tnj the most obscenely overpowered
jutsu of all time..
Taijutsu, Kenjutsu, use of weapons, basic ninja tactics like
stealth and using your head are now extinct in part 2 and it has
been replaced with fireballs and nuclear explosions that can
create dust and black balls that are easier to draw and make
flat backgrounds with. This is the result of a powerup
competition between characters who take 5 years to actually face
eachother
