Mercury, the brand known for its sophisticated vehicles is a
division of Ford Motor Company. The brand came into existence in
the year 1930. Mercury Eight was the first car launched by the
brand in 1939. Since it had 95 horsepower engine, it was a grand
success in the US market. During the second world war, the brand
stopped its production. The company again started manufacturing
stylish cars and attracted many customers during 1960s. After
the introduction of Comet and Meteor vehicles, the company
increased its brand line up.
