Duet Roleplay Featuring Kanikanihia and Namiair
DIR By: UndesireableLover

---------------------------------------------------------
Numerous days passed by when Kanikanihia found herself within
the unfamilar territory of the maze-like streets of the large
city. Confusion swarmed her mind as she did not know her exact
location. Wherever this Wiccan woman was, she believed she had
ultimately lost the vicious men who were on her trail. Despite
her intutition alerting her to this supposedly comforting fact
her legs still needed to continue moving. Kanikanihia ran in the
desperate attempt to save her own life. The Witch Hunters were
on her trail. Fear regarding her encounter with the deer hunters
caused her to leave home. She had no way of knowing if those men
worked with the Hunters and could not risk staying there. In the
middle of the busy city streets the woman came to the
realization she may never be able to return home. A tear left
its home in her eye as cars whizzed by her honking their
obnoxious horns. Without another second of hesitation, the woman
hurried to the sidewalk, which was just as crowded, if not more
so, as the street. Leaning against a cold concrete building, she
collapsed to the ground with her head tucked between her knees.
Tears flowed ever feely from her eyes knowing the rest of her
life would be spent on the run. Try as she might, she may never
return home.

" 20 gold pieces for a set of silverware? Are you Mad!"
"No sir, I assume you never have had the " pleasure of picking
up a mining tool and searching out Silver, have you?"
" 15 and i wont go not a coin Higher!"
" 17"
" 16, you ungrateful Bastard!"
" fine then i shall make due."
The sound of the door slamming only brought a smile to the mans
hardened face. He had only a small bit of a stubble look to him,
Black hair and he seemed to be entertained by a series of
thoughts. Placing the gold in his drawer he shut it to reveal a
bit of silver ore in another drawer. " petty old self righteous
fool." he said calmly to himself and placed the silver piece
upon the forgery. he took a seat and set it back against the
wall thinking to himself. His mind wrapped around the idea of
the man going home and counting his stash of most likely over a
thousand gold pieces. It truly sickened him. this man had no
heart or soul, no mettle that made him a man at all. With a huff
and a sigh, the man tied the bandanna he commonly wore around
his head, and pulled his hair back so it wouldn't fall over his
eyes as he worked. " such a shit hole of a city of rotten gold
Misers." he scowled to himself before taking his gloved hand to
the door to open it and reveal a gray gloomy sky. " not much
better out here now is it."
The man continued taking a step from his porch before he
realized the sound of squealing horses. He wasn't sure but he
let himself pay little mind for the time being. His feet were
barely covered with the rotten old boots he wore, he barely had
any over at all except for the shirt and pants he wore. In the
distance the sound of a salesmen cooing to the women was heard,
it left a fairly rotten taste in his mouth just from hearing the
illiterate bastard lie his ass off about. " miracle grow" Truly
it was such a pathetic attempt to make a little extra gold, he
didn't understand it really. It wasn't long before the small
sound of a bell ringing to mark the mans entry resounded int he
halls of a common shop. Namiair walked up to the salesmen and
placed his gold on the desk. " i want as much leather and
fitting tools as you can muster for this amount." he demanded. "
ah Namiair, another BIG project ya got goin on here?" Namiair
nodded to the man and waited patiently.
While he stood there he noticed the wandering eyes of the
passerby. It really didn't bother him enough to show it, yet
still it made his entire existence awkward. The staring of
mothers, then children pointing at the branding he had been
giving as a mark of incompetent shame. Finally the man returned
with his tools just in time for a small little boy to reach
towards him. Without a word he turned and headed out the door,
back to that unridiculed sanctuary he called his shack, his
home. It wasn't long that he noticed a small group of people
that crowded around the palce where the Horse had whinnied
earlier. he let the curiosity get to him, and then went to stand
with them noticing them look down at a woman. She wore not the
nicest of clothes, but she was pretty none the less. Something
wasnt right however, why was she crying and why would none of
the self righteous piggish ass hole help her. With a tug and a
push he pushed through to her to kneel at her side. " its ok
ma,am I will try to help you. " he offered his hand to the woman
and smiled at her his blueish gray eyes placed upon her own. "
you come on and ill get you inside where your away from the pig
heads, alright?" he assured her as much as he could he had no
intention of hurting her, this was the essence of the kindness
of a broken man in Pity.

The woman had no intentions on gathering the large crowd of
curious onlookers as she sat against the wall of the building.
Unforunately, one of her biggest fears played out in front of
her like a scene from a horror novel. Voices, too many voices,
crowded her ear drums as she rocked back and forth in a fetal
position. Kanikanihia wanted to be alone. Alone. Alone! "ALONE!"
Picking up on the sound generated from her own vocal cords, she
did not realized she had screamed until the horses called out in
fright and strangers gazed at her with looks of inquiries.
Still, the unwelcomed voices spoke, clogging her mind. Her ears
picked up on multiple people suggesting they bring her to a
mental insitution. Others thought it proper to direct her to the
nearest women's shelter. All of their propositions stung the
woman. She wasn't insane, she wasn't poor. She was being hunted.
None of these random humans could understand, they never would
unless their lives had been directly affected by the horrid
Witch Hunters. In the despirate attempt to shut out the noise,
Kanikanihia surrounded her ears with her knees.
No person felt it necessary to assist her. Rather, they only
desired to gaze upon her as if she was a spectacle in the local
zoo. Nasty thoughts flowed through her mind as to what exactly
she wanted to do to these people. Self-restraint prevented her
from acting out. Witchcraft wasn't used to harm. No. Kanikanihia
used it to avenge the wrong-doers and saved those who needed
saving. The worst plan of them all crossed her brain as a
warming hand was placed upon her shoulder. One, out of the
hundreds of people there wanted to assist her. She turned her
head, offering a slight, yet approving smile at the man. Her
hand reached out to his, signalling she was willing to accept.

With a quickened pace he touched to her hand and pulled her up.
some of the people wondered what he was doing but again he
pushed past them helping the woman through the vast crowd of
insignificant judges. He almost tripped as they emerged and he
looked behind him only once, to see the fools following him. "
back the hell off you've done enough!" he shouted as he let her
in the door to his little cottage and shut it on their rising
voices. He sighed a bit and directed her to the chair where he
usually sat. His hand ran across his brow as sweat furrowed over
him. " whats your name?" he asked with a rushed sighing voice,
as he let his legs slip and slid down the wall to sit his rear
on the floor next to the door. He pushed the thoughts from his
head of how he'd like to treat the others of the city, the way
they looked down on anything that didn't fit there perfect
tightly knit little world. " they are truly pitiful creatures
bare them no misery, their day will come without us to utter
such curses. He smiled to the woman and then his eyes shut as
his head reared back and he caught his breath waiting her to
respond.

Gratitude pulsed through the woman's veins like the blood
circulating throughout her body. She kept up with this
benevolent stranger's quickened pace in order to rush through
the crowd. Their insults penetrated her inner sanctuary. As the
pair of individuals ran they continued to sling their insults
like arrows shot at their prey. Oh how the Wiccan desired to
simply transport herself out of the scenario. Unfortunately, it
could not be done. The risk of exposure surpassed her own safety
amidst this unrulely crowd. Though, among the harsh words, one
man stood out, showed her the kindness which evaded the woman
for all too long now. Despite not knowing him, she had to put
all of her trust in him to lead her to safety. She had to trust,
it was necessary in order to live. The woman's feet carried her
toward this physical safe haven, following the path in which the
man took. There was no thought to it. Escape and live, escape
and live.
In what appeared to be all too long, the pair ultimately arrived
at his cabin. How different was it from her house in the forest.
Her home. The woman's heart twinge in pain caused by leaving the
one place she never believed to bring her harm. She attempted to
see this cabin as a new home in the attempt to keep her peace of
mind, to keep her from having a breakdown. Perhaps a
conversation with this man would be a good distraction. However,
she could not stay for too long, the Hunters, due to the
commotion she caused, could easily find her here.
“My…my name?” Not a single entity had every asked her such a
question. Her interactions with him altogether provided her with
a novel experience. Life in the forest allow for minimal
exchanges between herself and others. The woman considered it a
stretch for him to save her, let alone understand one critical
aspect of her life. “I am Kanikanihia Artemis. May I inquire as
to yours?” She allowed his comment about the others to slide by
without notice. Bringing up the idiocy of others would surely
grind her gears once more. This was one thing she would not
allow to happen again. Her eyes glanced about the cottage,
taking in the sights and slight feeling of home provided by this
house.

Caught in a flurry of anger and emotions that filled the gap of
what he pushed to be vacant of anger, the man couldnt keep his
concentration so wise. He rested his head as the shadow of a
menacing brain haunching head ache tore to meet his mind,
passing the impassible walls and only tainting his mind with the
worst or pains. He sighed once as he heard her name. The man
forced a smile in response and replied his own. " I am Namiair
A. Shuriuun." He replied as he let his eyes open and bowed his
head in respect to the woman, as was a cultural loss of the land
of late. He wasn't sure how he'd entertain this woman but hoped
that for now the safety of a home with a warm forge fire would
be just enough for her. " i'm planning to let you stay here for
some time so that you don't have to face the fools here" he
responded pushing to leave his rear and stand before her. There
was no other chair in the house so he placed himself next to his
black smithing hammer and smiled to her. " so if i may inquire a
bit more of you, What brought you to capital hell?" he had a
slight smirk at his un-witty pun, though regardless left it for
her to answer him.
( i apologize for not much written, when things kick up it will
get better, only so much you can do in a house as small as his
of course. )

Watching her host occupying the most uncomfortale locations
within the small cabin caused her discomfort in the arms of the
chair. Her childhood consisted of many people coming and going
from her families home. It was this which provided her the
opporunity to learn about proper means associated with
hospitality. It was for this reason she stood up and sat on the
floor directly across from him. Sitting on the chair, to her,
signified she was of higher status than her host. Which, in
reality, due to him rescuing her, was reversed. The woman
crossed her legs in a lady like manner as she sat on the floor.
In all honesty, it wasn't as bad as it initially seemed. Her
blue eyes glanced at him, then to the chair, as if a silent way
to signify she felt better sitting on the floor.
"Namiair, that is extremely benevolent of you, but I cannot
allow that to transpire. You see, I need to keep moving. My
survival depends on me not staying in one location for any
length of time." Witch Hunters, Kanikanihia knew had the ability
to be extremly kind and could easily blend in with their
surroundings. She had ot be cautious and not divulge too much
information. Although she could defend herself, she was in his
territory, he held the advantage over her. "As I said earlier,
I'm on the move. Leaving home is what caused you to find me in a
sorrowful state earlier this day." The woman wanted to ask
questions about this man but did not want to be rude. She needed
to know if she could trust him with this vital information.
Without telling him about her practicing witchcraft, she could
not tell her why she was constantly on the run.

+Short due to Common Talk+
He truly couldn't understand this woman, Of course she held her
secrets but damn when you are in such a horrid state you fall to
the ground and break in front of society it is necessary to seek
some form of housing comfort. He couldn't do much to keep her
here but he had to try to make her understand truly. " I see,
well if what ever comes looking for you ill push it out my door,
aint a damned soul going to enter my House without my approval."
he growled at the thought and threw a little bit more coal into
the fire to warm them. he was used to the frigid winters and the
cold of the world, but also the brim stone heat of the fire that
burn in the home. Wiping a bit of sweat from his brow he took
the seat and began to sharper a dagger. There wasn't much left
to this conversation besides her soon to come retort about him
not being able to protect her, or why would he want to. Maybe he
couldn't maybe he could he truly didn't know much of these
questions to answer them. He was only a kind man with a kind
Heart trying to help a young lady.
