Fishing for Trouble
By: Tsukiko Date: March 18, 2019, 3:51 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Tsukiko was making her way to the Naka River with the group,
where they were suppose to go fishing for the large cresture
that dwell there. As she walked alongside them she was reading a
book on how to fish.
"Hmm so that's how it's done."
She turns to Juan.
"Have you ever fished before Juan?"

Juan walks along with the group, and then hears the question
that is asked by Tsukiko.
"Just a little...but I don't know if it will be good enough to
catch a massive creature like the one Senrei mentioned...Living
in Mist you could probably figure we do a decent amount of
fishing."
He laughs a bit as he continues walking along with Tsukiko, he
watches her as she reads.

"Right, the Land of Water is made up of multiple islands,
makes sense."
She keeps pace with the group walking next to Juan.
"Fishing sounds like a useful skill to learn, i should really
try to grasp the basics, it could help out alot on missions if
one is ever stuck with out supplies. Hey Juan is it true theres
a clan of people from the Hidden Mist Village that can turn
their bodies in to water? They must be masters at fishing with
such an ability."

He nods in agreement after Shun made the statement about the
mist being made of islands
"Oh yeah that is true. I haven't seen one but there is a
historical piece of information they taught us at the academy
about the seven swordsman of the mist and one of them had that
ability. I bet that's a pretty cool ability to have especially
coming out of the mist."
Juan continues walking with them as they approach the area.
"Yeah your right about." He points at Shun with an agreeing
gesture as he slightly laughs.

Sen'rei soon arrives, equipped with a little under a dozen
different kinds of fishing rods, held tightly in her arms. She
had a box in one hand and a bucket in the other. The bucket was
filled with chunks of red meat and whole fish. Her parasol
balanced precariously on her shoulder, barely providing a
blanket of shade over her head. She sets down her burden in
front of the others, then smiles warmly at them.
"Thank you for waiting. I hope it wasn't too long."
She glances out over the river, shielding her eyes from the
sun's reflection.
"Well, shall we get started?"

"A clan with the ability to turn their entire body in to water,
that sounds amazing and incredibly useful. The Mist village must
have some really strong clans as by the sound of it"
As they converse Tsukiko see's the arrival of Senrei, carrying
multiple rods under her arm while holding a bucket with the
bait.
"Hey Senrei, that's alot of fishing rods for 4 people."
She walks closer to her to inspect the bait wish had a a smell
to it.
"So the creature likes fish and cuts of meat?"

As they finish speaking Shun takes notice of Senrei's arrival,
carrying with her all the necessities to begging fishing.
"Senrei you made it. So... are you going to give us a fishing
101 lesson on what to do before we start?"

"Yeah I think we have some pretty cool clans in my village. I
should know of course."
Juan says as he laughs a bit after speaking, he then notices
Senrei arrive with all the equipment and bait for their
activities for the day.
"Well how considerate of you for bringing all of us rods, I
thought we were gonna jump in and wrangle the creature with our
bare hands." Juan makes a funny strangling motion with his hands
as if wrestling with someone.
"But this makes things a lot easier." he adds as he walks
towards Senrei and then looking into the bucket with the bait as
he makes a nasty face.

"I brought a variety of casting and spinning rods, with a couple
of heavy sea rods in case the smaller ones aren't suitable. The
reels are varied, as well. I expected that we would experiment
until one of them found success."
She pauses, glancing down at her bucket of bait.
"Fish seems to be the beast's favorite food, understandable
considering where it lives. My bait would most often disappear
when I was using beef, however."
She crouches down, opening up the tackle box and holding up a
hook.
"As for hooks, I prefer not to hurt the fish I catch. I use
blunt-ended chakra hooks. They work similar to magnets, and
catch hold in the fish's mouth by sending a burst of chakra
through them. It takes a it of practice, but if you're able to
notice the beast taking your bait, you should be able to catch
it as well. As for the lessons... The simplest way to learn is
by doing, so shall we?"
She lifts up one of the casting rods, attaching a spool of line
to it before threading it through the loops on the rod. Finally,
she attaches a hook. She starts to do it to each of the rods,
one by one.

"Blunt-Ended chakra hooks?"
Tsukiko had never heard or read about a type of hook that used
chakra. She searches her book flipping trough the pages quickly
trying to find information on them, but it was no where to be
found.
"Hmmm this book has no information on that type of hook, must be
a new design for people trained to use chakra."
Tsukiko watches as Senrei gets the rods ready, watching the
process carefully.
[i]"Just like the book describes."
She looks towards the river and then back at Senrei.
"Does the creature have a specific time of day it shows up to
feed? Perhaps a spot it likes to frequent? This river is pretty
large."
