"Is that all you'd like? Feel free to indulge. This is a new
experience for you, after all."
She closes her eyes in an extended blink. Sitting back in her
seat, she places her hands on her lap. Her attention back on
Yoshiro's reddened face, she couldn't help but smile. He was
certainly cute, she thought, but she could hardly imagine what
was really going on in his head. She had to know more.
"And once you've ordered, would you tell me more about this
dream of yours?"

Yoshiro nods his head in acceptance. The idea of his family
being brought up into this started to break the illusion of the
date. The ideals of his brothers flooded into his mind causing
him to lose focus of where he was. In fact it also made his
hunger slightly dampen.
"I.. don't really have a dream. I just want to be free."

The waitress leaves with their order. Sen'rei widens her eyes,
her playful smile not leaving her lips.
"You want to be free. That's an aspiration in itself, you know?
You could consider that your dream and work towards it. You've
already taken the first step."
She brings her flask back up to her mouth, taking a long drag
from it.
"Have you thought about what you'll do once you are free?"

"No... I haven't even begun to even think of it. All I can think
of is... how to get free. That is... if it's even possible to be
free."
Yoshiro's appetite had began to shrink by the minute. Maybe it
was a good thing he didn't order much food.

Sen'rei nods her head, listening intently to Yoshiro. She waits
for him to finish before speaking up again.
"You'll have plenty of time to figure that out."
She turns her eyes downwards.
"Someday, I'll do the same."
She grows quiet for just a few moments.
"Let's discuss something less complex. You mentioned that you
cooked quite a bit. What would you say is your favorite dish?"
The waitress returns, setting down two glasses of water, as well
as Yoshiro's meal.

"Oh? Me, cook? No, you are mistake. That right is reserved for
the women. The men become shinobi and have to do training none
stop. Meanwhile the women are free to do whatever they please.
Normally they take the heads of the family and lead, while the
men are their warriors normally injured in combat and rendered
useless."
Yoshiro places a single straw into the water swirling it in
circles. The ice dances within the vortex making tiny clicking
sounds when it strikes the sides of the glass.

Sen'rei sips her water, a slight chill running down her spine as
she does so.
"Your position is determined based on how you're born."
Her gaze darkens as she considers what Yoshiro told her. Her
smile disappears. She tightens her grip on her glass, taking a
semi-deep breath before speaking.
"That's ridiculous. I--..."
She cuts herself off, realizing that she was actually getting
angry. She said she wanted to make the date something special,
prompting her to decide to change the subject.
"Your elemental affinity. Earth. Are you still happy with it?"

"I guess, haven't really learned how to use it yet though."
Yoshiro stops swirling his water.
"You know what, we are genin now. We should go on a mission."

Yoshiro shook his head.
"No, but I'm sure they have some mission for newly pronounced
genins. The village is so large and with all of it's external
outlets i'm sure they are swamped with mission requests."
