Class 3b, Day 2

The class had started to float in from the hallway as Tetsu
Sensei had started writing the words 'Ninja tools' across the
chalk board. Also on the table to his right was a series of
small ninja tool grade pouches. So many that it could easily be
one in the room for each student.
"Good morning class."
Testu spoke to the class members as they took their seats.

Sen'rei enters the class with her parasol leaning on her
shoulder, as usual. Rather than moving right to her chosen seat,
she steps over to the table to look at the pouches placed there.
She glances up at the instructor.
"Ishimoto-sensei? Will this lesson be focused on any weapons in
particular?"
She reaches her hands towards a pouch, rubbing it with two
fingers to feel the material.
"I'm quite interested in senbon, myself."

Yoshiro entered the room shortly after Senrei's question was
asked. He slipped to his back seat slowly allowing his backpack
to slump off his back and strike the floor with a thud before
taking his seat. Shortly after returning to silencing waiting
for further instruction.

"The weapons of choice will be Kunai and Shuriken. These are the
traditional weapons of the leaf. Though some ninja do in fact
use senbon it, isn't part of the class curriculum. As senbon are
considered an exotic weapon to konoha ninjas. Normally practiced
more in the hidden mist village."
Tetsu Sensei quickly shovels his feet towards the front of the
desk with the pouches. Before holding up the pouches.
"Today I have been granted a standard issue of our equipment for
all members at the academy. Can anyone explain to the class what
the Shurkien and/or kunai are? And what they specialize in
doing?"

Sen'rei goes to her seat after having her question answered. She
was mildly disappointed, but she didn't let it show too much.
Settling down beside Yoshiro again, she sets her parasol and her
bag on the floor.
"Good morning, Yoshiro."
She pulls out her notebook while greeting him. Listening the the
instructor, she prepares to start taking notes.

The silence in the class presses Tetsu into pulling out a Kunai
from his pocket spinning it around his finger until he stops it
with his wrist.
"This is a Kunai. This is a basic ninja tool that servers
purpose as a two way tool. It can be used in close range as a
knife or it can be thrown for a ranged attack."
*Using a Kunai they have the stats below:*
Name: Kunai
Throwable: Yes
# of Hands: 1
Range: Close (Melee), Mid (Thrown)
Con Dmg: 20
HP Damage: 1
Weight: 0.5 lbs
*So lets break this down a little. When a weapon has a Con Dmg
this is the result of clashing with someone else. Con Dmg simply
is the cutting power of the weapon. Reducing the enemies con by
20 before applying the attack damage of strength. Allowing the
weapon to reduce the chance of being reduced by a block or a
saving throw.*
*Next lets look at HP Damge. This is whenever a thrown weapon
hits its target. You still apply Dex vs Dex to see if you hit.
However unlike normal damage you will do strength vs con to see
if the damage applies. If it does the enemy will suffer 1 HP in
damage. *
*Weight is something that all gear has to it. You can carry 2
pounds per strength point you have. meaning make sure you don't
carry to much equipment around or you wont be able to dodge
anymore! Other than that go ham!*
"Next up we have the shuriken!"

Range: Mid (Thrown)
Con Dmg: 20
HP Damage: .5
Weight: 0.25 lbs
*You will notice that shuriken only do half damage. This is
because a lot of shuriken are thrown in large groups. Allowing
for multiple hits to strike a target stacking up damage
accordingly. Also if one single shuriken were to strike its
target. Even a con roll wouldn't stop it from being rounded up
to a single point of damage. Unless the enemy was ready and
blocked the attack.*
"Is there any questions? If not we will be going to the training
field today to practive on target dummies for you to get an idea
of how Shurkien and Kunai work. Also make sure to grab a free
Pouch on the way out. Each come with a free 5 kunai and 15
shurikens that you will be able to keep."

Sen'rei furiously scratches down notes, writing down every word
of the instructor's lesson. As he finishes up, she closes her
book and slides it into her bag. She gets to her feet and
follows the rest of the class outside, grabbing her pouch on the
way out.

Yoshiro tugs a pouch off the shelf feelingit's weighted
contents.
The bag was 1 lb on its own with the 5 kunai each being 2.5
pounds. lastly the shuriken was 3.75 lbs. A total of 7.25 lbs.
It was something he could carry for sure but it wasn't exactly
light on him causing him to slump after getting the gear before
securing it to his side. It was going to be something to get
used to having so much weight on one side.
Yoshiro noticed he had started to fall behind before sprinting
towards the field.

The class would find themselves in front of a series of
different types of target dummies. The first set were all logs
planted firmly into the floor.
"Everyone please pull out a single kunai and place it firmly
within the pronate hand. Afterwards you will rush at one of the
log dummies and strike the target as hard as you can."
Sensei quickly rushed at a target dummy to demonstrate. He
struck the target causing marts of the wood to splinter.
*The target dummy has a con of 75*
"Whenever your ready. Please attempt to strike the dummy when
ready we will move onto target practice."
