Accounting retiree going back to work

My neighbor retired 5 years ago and due to financial
constraints he needs to go back to work.
He was told Malaysia GST is very complex and has so many Tax
Codes.
He question is
Why the Tax Codes cannot be kept simple
One Code for Transactions with GST
One Code for Transactions with no GST

I do agree that GST Malaysia has its own set of challenges but
the Tax Codes are there for a good reason
Tax Codes updates GST03, GAF & TAP File
Each Tax Code has a unique purpose & you can do extensive
analysis with the Tax Codes
My advise. If you are planning to go back to work, become
proactive
Read the GST Guides, talk to people who work for companies that
registered for GST & perhaps attend one or more seminars on GST.
Tax Codes will remain. It is possible that the Tax Codes get
consolidated in future but it is also possible that more Tax
Codes are created from time to time
