       3 Companies Fined RM18,000 for GST Offences (Star 10 November, 2
       016).

       KUALA LUMPUR: Three companies were fined a total of RM18,000 by
       the Sessions Court here for failing to issue Goods and Service
       Tax (GST) invoices.
       Electrical items supplier Pusat Elektrik E&R Sdn Bhd, optical
       goods supplier Omega Vision Care and stationer Selvan Holding
       (M) Sdn Bhd were fined RM6,000 each, in default four months'
       jail each, for failing to issue GST invoices on Oct 7, last
       year, Jan 14 and Feb 3 this year.
       Their representatives Lee Sung Lai, 53, Ng Choon Hua, 55, and K.
       Venootheran, 27, pleaded guilty Thursday on behalf of the
       companies before Sessions judge Shamsudin Abdullah.
       The firms committed the offence at their premises in Taman
       Setiawangsa, Taman Segar in Cheras and Sungai Wang Plaza here.
       They were charged under Section 33(2)(a) of the GST Act 2014.
       Kuala Lumpur Customs Department prosecuting officers Norliana
       Amran, Aznira Othman and Ahmad Firdaus Ahmad Sufian prosecuted
       the cases.
