I’ve owned my MT01 for the past 4 years. It’s a 2005 model,
10500 miles, pretty much standard apart from a fly screen and
aftermarket alloy reservoirs. It hasn’t seen much use over the
past 2 years as it shares my garage with Gen1 & Gen2 VMax’s plus
a few Moto Guzzi’s that include a Griso 8V, a Rosso Corsa, &
various V11’s. I do like big air cooled V twins. I’ve just MOT’d
it & put it back on the road after being SORNed all of this
year, & looking forward to riding it again in what’s left of
summer/autumn. I rarely see any other MT01’s around where I
live/ride, but as there are only 455 either on the road/SORNed
in the UK, I suppose it’s not surprising

Hello and welcome to the site. Looks like you've got a fair
fleet of bikes :) This site has been quiet the last year or so
as the guy running the server abruptly stopped and didn't hand
over to anyone but numbers are slowly increasing again. There's
also a few people from here migrated to Facebook but there are
still quite a few die hard web lovers.
Cheers
Max

Nice bike. I'm also a fan of the Vmax ;D and used to live out
in Derbyshire. I miss those roads - being 5 mins away from Long
Hill was always fun.

Hi, Gen 2 VMax’s are even rarer. Just 214 on UK roads, not many
when you consider they were on sale for nearly 10 years. Some
years their sales were virtually nonexistent. If you want to
find a 2014 model for example, good luck - Yamaha sold 5 that
year in the UK. They were still sold in the US market until the
end of 2020

Interested in the MT01 On Road/Sorn figures.
Where did you get these from?
Cheers,
Graham.

Graham
Go to howmanyleft.co.uk
Search Yamaha MT01
You’ll see that during Q1 2021 (latest data available) there
were 212 taxed and 243 on SORN
It’s a fascinating website. The figures are more accurate for a
bike like the MT01, where there’s only a single variant. It gets
more complicated where a model has a multiplicity of different
versions that the manufacturer regularly updates / changes
designations
For example, take a bike you see everywhere - the Beemer
R1200GS. 5.4K on the road and 1.2K on SORN. Add to that the
triple black version, then the Rallye TE version and so on … you
get the idea.
Anyway it’s hours of entertainment :)
